Met my husband in 1976...we loved the song. Yes, after 45 years of marriage, he's "still the one" ❤
Love this song. I sing it to my husband all the time. We'll be together 54 years in October. Thanks Jay. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Always great to see a fellow Canuck here! 🇨🇦🍁
Happy pre Anniversary!
Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦
@@lesleywarnock228 another Canuck here. 42 years next month! 💕
@@heatherbegs YAY!!! Happy pre Anniversary to you as well!!! 💜💜💜
@@lesleywarnock228 thank you 🇨🇦💕
Great song! "Dance with Me" is arguably even better👍
great suggestion!
agree
I would absolutely have to agree with that!
I agree 💕
Naw Dance with me is a great song, but it's not in/on the same league/Level as Your still the One!!! However to each his own... Be Blessed mate.
I consider Orleans as a cross between the Eagles and America with a sprinkle of Journey in the mix.Brilliant Group."Dance with Me" great harmonies.
Some 3 Dog Night flavor
And a soupcon of Lynyrd Skynyrd
Yes I googled 'soupcon", where you from to use such a word?👍
From Raleigh, NC. My mother was an English and French teacher who eventually became a librarian.
Pre-MMD Doobies for me
One of the happiest, most positive songs ever recorded! It’s a love song that’s not totally codependent. It’s impossible to listen to this and not smile!
Back when you could hear every word above the music... Plus great harmonies!
All time great song. "Dance With Me" and "Love Takes Time".
One of the funnest and honest lol songs ever. “Sometimes I never wanna see you again” is a great line. And you are so right about 70’s “yacht” rock. Fantastic.
"Love Takes Time" is another great song by Orleans. IMO, it is their best. "Dance with Me" is also very good.
This Guy's Ear is so Fucking Tuned in. Just Wow!
this is nicely upbeat but their gem is "dance with me", i cry every time even after all these decades - check it out, you will ❤ it 😊
Please react to Orleans' "Love Takes Time"!!! Love your genuine enthusiasm for the songs of our youth!! Watching your reactions to these songs is like experiencing them for the first time all over again! Love you!!
J, Their "Dance With Me" is next for you!
There are two kinds of music, regardless of the style or the era...the good and the not so good. Have to say I love watching your face as you listen and seeing the smile as you realize how good what you're listening to is. Great reaction, as always!
Damn dude, you hit the nail on the head. So many great songs that could past a person up if they weren't listening. Wise words my friend keep on keepin' on.
I grew up in the 70's and still love the music. It's great to me to see someone so young listening to this music and enjoying it. You should really do 70's Story Tellers...Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Don McClean, etc. Great music.
Jay , man I middle aged white guy! I loved the 80s the 90s and todays music ! What I love about u brother is u have appreciation for all music. Same as me ! Hell , black groups white groups , it don’t matter all have great songs and sometimes we fall into the genre of what we should like but there is a lot of great music ! Watched all your videos man and will continue ! God bless !
Another to try ... Love Takes Time
Right in the pocket from the start. Great arrangement, vocal and guitar harmonies, a winner!
1976! Such a great song. I was 13 when this was released and it’s just as amazing today as it was then. ❤️❤️
omg this song is so much fun, but appreciation is universal and we will AlWAYS share that
On the iconic American Bandstand the criteria for a good song was that it had a great beat that was easy to dance to. This song is definitely that and I have danced to it many, many times. This one really has it all: great guitar, great vocals, fun lyrics, and the beat! Thank you for reviewing this Golden Oldie gem!
This song was on the radio when I was in high school. I'll never forget my school's pom-pom girls performing a routine to it during halftime of a boys' varsity basketball game. For 3 minutes and 54 seconds, I fell in love multiple times. I've lost track of the girls, of course, but the song remains one of my all-time pop-confectionary favorites.
First song I ever recall hearing on the radio. Still a favorite.
You gotta check Dance With Me... The harmonies are thick... My favorite of theirs...
This song was so huge in the mid-70s that even ABC used a snippet of it as their theme for a while. And, to this day, I still listen to this song all the time, it never gets old.
The harmonies in the song are incredible.
This was the music of my youth, I still think at almost 60 years old that my generation had the best music. Thanks for sharing a song I hadn't thought about in so very long, Orleans, Bread, Bob Segar, so so many awesome songs and singers. I thought I should tell you every time I watch one of these videos I see that ELO album cover on your way and it brings me back to a Christmas morning many years ago when my older sister bought me my first record album that was all mine, it was that exact ELO album, the memory still makes me smile. BTW as old as I am, I love your channel.
Thanks for another great video. Those guitars were played by John Hall. Former US congressman from NY. He and his wife wrote most of their songs. Lead singer was the late Larry Hoppen. Low voice John Hall.
The songs from the 60s and 70s are some of the best songs you can understand the words which is what I like
Love that song.
Great melody, harmony, message and composition.
The reason this song is unique to me is that while there are thousands of love songs that are about trying to get with someone, or having just gotten with someone, or maybe being together for a bit but not clear how long, this song is about a couple that has been together for many years or even decades. I find that even more heartwarming. And of course, the instrumentation is brilliant, too.
Awesome song! I was 5 years old. "Dance With Me" is a beautiful song too.
Excellent choice. My hubby and I were kids then, song is relevant now. Yes the songs then were great. It really set you mood in society.
Great reaction! Your right, there are thousands of hidden gems in the 70's, I'm 59, I grew up in the 70's, and I've heard a ton of these kinds of Bands and Songs. Check out Jackie Blue by The Ozark Mountain Dare Devil's. Song is lit!✌️
It absolutely is. Interesting that the song was originally about a male and their record company requested they change some of the lyrics to reflect a female instead.
Yes I totally agree with you great suggestion.
Fantastic song and a fave of mine and I so loved your experienced opinion and loved your comments and reactions!!! Thank u!!!
My husband & I's song! ❤️
25 years & he's still the one.
There just isn't time to hear everything.
It's a lifetime of great work
😀
Also check out "Dance with me" by Orleans. Great song
John Hall, brilliant song writer and arranger. Please check out their 1st album "Orleans" before they became radio pop/rock denizen's. Songs : "If" and "Half Moon" are classics of early fm radio.
Loved them as some of my favorites 70s groups!
I used to sing that bass line to my wife when we were dating. It gave her chills. Don't hear this song too much anymore, but I still sing it when I do.
I spent time with Larry over a couple of days in Rochester where they were playing at Red Creek. The band was staying at Jeff Sprigets house the owner of Red Creek. He insisted I hear them, they blew me away .
One of my favorite good vibe songs!
Love, love, love this song!
Was always one of my favorite songs 🎵
One of the greatest wedding anniversary songs ever!
haven't heard this in ages. Love this song. Thanks for the reaction!
Orleans were a pop rock band & had their biggest hits in the 70's with "Dance With Me", "Still The One", "Love Takes Time", "Let There Be Music" & "Reach".
I saw them live TWICE! Great shows and almost as good as Styx for a great show.
My husband and my song and 45 years later he's still the one🥲
DO LOVE TAKES TIME BY ORLEANS. ANOTHER GEM BY THEM. LARRY HOPPEN'S VOICE IS MAGIC FOR SURE.
Such a great tune!! You can't help but sing along!! Man, you're on a roll tonight with songs from my childhood! Much love Jay 💜😃
Can i ask something in the comments, if you don't mind?
Who here is a early to mid 90's baby like me, and absolutely LOVES 70's music as much as i do?
Something about this song, you can feel the love coming from it. I got CHILLS listening to this one.
Such a perfectly crafted classic rock song and the ending is absolute CHEF'S KISS. Amazing reaction, too, by the way!
Some other great soft rock/lite rock songs from the 70s (and there are SO MANY more): Marshall tucker Band "Heard it in a Love Song"; James Taylor "Her Town Too"; J.D. Souther "You're Only Lonely"; Dave Mason "We Just Disagree"; Albert Hammond "It Never Rains in California"; Barry Manilow "Time in New England"; John Denver "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" and "Take Me Home Country Roads"; Bertie Higgins "Key Largo"; Bette Midler "The Rose"; The Commodores "Nightshift", "Three Times a Lady", and "Easy"; Dr. Hook "Sharing the Night Together"; Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis "You Don't Have to be a Star"; Olivia Newton-John "If You Love Me" and "Let Me Be There"; Seals and Croft "Get Closer"; The Three Degrees "When Will I See You Again"; Air Supply "Lost in Love"; Helen Reddy "Delta Dawn"
I haven't heard this one-hit-wonder in 40+ years. Thanks
My favorite video. Cheers.
There are a lot of Reaction channels, I've been following Jay from when he first started..I love this guy, man he's come along ways, and I'm proud of him, he's stuck with this music journey, and I know that when these reactors first started out, that they seriously had no idea or clue just how much music there really is!! Thanks for the uplaods my friend, good luck with your continuing journey 🔥🎶🎶🎶🔥
Still holds up after all these years! You're still the one J! Great reaction!
Was a favorite of mine
A great song by them is Dance With Me.
Another great song that is rarely mentioned in the comments is Love Takes Time.
Had completely forgotten about this song :)
grew up on this song in the 70's
Love takes time..is awesome
I love this song. My mom played it all the time when I was little.
I still recommend a singer named Beth Crowley. Amazing voice and her lyrics are just... no words. Red, Battle Cry, Gone
She isn't some hugely famous singer, she is amazing though. Worth a listen.
As always love your joy. Just what I needed after spending the day in the ER
Who remembers the huge ABC network TV promo featuring all their biggest stars and shows set to this tune for the 1976-77 season?
This song slaps! Silky smooth song.
Love their other hit too, '' Dance with me '' ❤
I agree it’s so good because it’s not only catchy, but the song evolves as it goes on with the vocals and instruments. And I like the message that if you find the one, if you’re both solid and value the relationship and even if things aren’t perfect, nobody’s going anywhere, ever! Together it is.
Love Orleans!
We had great music in the 60s and 70s. Orleans was based in Woodstock, NY for most of their career. Fun fact: John Hall (lead singer) was elected to Congress at one point.
Remember when ABC TV used this song with a slight change in the lyrics for it's Fall Line up of shows in the late 70s?
Love Takes Time is a gem by Orleans.
They had talent fo sure! 😊
Love it! And yes, 'Dance with Me' is a must! Thanks for the smiles! 😁❤
great oldie == guaranteed to get everyone in a good mood Hank Ballad === Finger Popp'in Time //// thank you JV
Always think of ABC using this song to promote their Fall lineup.🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶
I can watch you react all day long babe, thank you
This is one of those songs that flys under the radar… what a tune I love it!!!!
I've never heard this.
It's very 70s AM radio.
Good vocals.
The Mavericks. Lead singer is still around performing. Pick any song of many many and cheer me up. Raul Malo has an outstanding stunning singing voice even in his much older year. They won't disappoint. THAT is a guarantee. My personal favorite is "True Love Ways" live version 2016 or "I Should Have Been True" live 1994
Dance With Me and Love Takes Time are also great songs!
Classic from the 70s… Lyrics and music the best I love this group
Man rockin'
Yacht rock was and still is AWESOME.
Rock and roll with class and style. ❤️❤️❤️
I love how you pick out the little details that make songs so memorable. Speaking of that album title, the song Dance With Me is fantastic. You would definitely appreciate the guitar work in that one as well.
Check out
Dance with me...
Another hit from them
such a nice reaction!!!
Must do "Dance with Me" for some great harmonies.
Love takes time. Try the live version from the early 90s. Orleans live in Tokyo. It's super soulful. The late Larry Hoppen on lead vocals. Reach is another one and Loves Just Not For Other People.
I hope you can find someone to be with and look back after decades and remember this song. Wishing you the best ,bro!
Just think Jay there is still so much for you to hear
so good
My favourite reactor is already making my early Saturday morning into the start of a great holiday weekend. Thanks cousin. Soon it will be the 52nd anniversary of one of the darkest days in post-war USA, the slaying and wounding of students by armed police at Kent State Univ. Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young of course wrote one of 1970's most emotive songs about that massacre: Ohio. A moving live recording of this tune being played years later may be found at: czcams.com/video/JCS-g3HwXde/video.html. I was at univ at that time and the shock of hearing that Ohio police had used live ammunition against teenage Vietnam War demonstrators is something which I remember to this day.
Ohh man , i was 7 years old that time ... my Dad played all the songs of that time .... you can listen today , but you can't feel that missing of how green and filled with life Nature was that time , how everything was that day's .
I'm old now , but i feel my Heart remember how strong and full of joy it was when i was there in '76 .
Music make you laugh and make you cry .... Music can take you low and music let you go... up to the sky ... so high . RIP Joe Cocker ( from the song ' wasted years ') concert i guess '84 in Germany ' Rockpalast ' TV found it : 31 October 1980 Metropol, Live in Berlin, Germany
After 45 years married, hubby and I are still singing this song. Thanks Jay for spinning this tune!
Good morning! Did you hear that Naomi Judd died (country)? Maybe FRI? Wynona & Ashley Judd's mother and part of The Judd's duo but mostly harmonizing...Wynona has the voice...kinda like Heart...Ann has the voice but Nancy can sing, too, just not as well ("well" seems harsh but not big voices, you know?). Anyway, you've probably been told, if you didn't hear on the news, by a subscriber. If you decide to do any of their music, here's some of their bigger hit songs that were also very good..."Mama, He's Crazy," "Have Mercy," "Grandpa, Tell Me 'Bout the Good, Old Days," "Why Not Me?," "Rockin' to the Rhythm of the Rain," "Girls Night Out," "Turn it Loose " "Young Love" and "Love is Alive." The 1st song I remember hearing on my way to summer school after the 9th grade was "Love is Alive" and I was a fan. (Only went to summer school to knock out Geometry...not because I'm a dummy...ha ha.) Have a nice rest of your day! (Oh, Orleans album name, "Dance With Me" gets my vote. I'm sure it's been mentioned.)
One of my favourite songs. A real couple’s love song.
👍🏼Road trip music🏔🚘⛰
I dedicate this song to my Nigel
