  • Hello my friends! Today I have a special video that my husband recorded answering all of your questions about what it's really like to be married, or in a relationship with someone who has a chronic illness, (OR illnesses). This is the video for you if you have a partner or spouse who lives in constant pain, fatigue and illness.
Today we are talking about how to help a loved one when they are in pain, how to take care of yourself while taking care of your partner, and how to stay positive and out of depression while being the caretaker.

Thanks bro this was a huge help. I've been my wife's care giver for 17yrs, only today I've looked for support. Your words have given me strength. God bless you and your wife. ✝️♥️

My boyfriend has one. I found the best thing in my relationship with him has been patience and just unconditional love. These for me have been the two things that work for me

Sending this video to my husband. He needs to hear this. He does so much to look after me, even when I’m feeling good. Maybe this will help him not to feel so helpless. Thank you for this video. 💕

Yes! It helps me so much to see others who suffer like i do, and I guarantee it helps them to connect with others who understand what they are going through too!

I should send this to my husband. It stresses me out more that he's stressing trying to fix me.
Another on the couch activity, we want to travel, and there's a lot of CZcams videos of people walking around cities around the world

Very helpful video! This gives language to a lot of the frustration that I’ve been feeling as I try to help my wife navigate her chronic illness. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for this video, when u search for helping someone with cronic illness, you don‘t find much, so I‘m very happy to have found this. My partner has Morbus crohn and has a lot of pain. It‘s not always easy, so I‘m happy to not be alone with the struggle. Much support to you both.

I have IBS-D, migraines, insomnia, etc. If you haven’t tried the Carnivore diet yet, it has been helping decrease inflammation and pain a ton for me. Praying for healing 🙏

Love that idea that you do "bigger" things when you feel good so that when you feel bad, you don't feel like your day is wasted. I think that's a problem we face is we don't take advantage of good days so then I feel stuck doing minimal things all the time.

Hi Mr. Aimee. (Hey! That's kinda fun to switch that around! Haha!)
On a serious note, nice to meet you. We've heard how much Aimee loves you and tries to always do things that you'd appreciate, like how she keeps active each day even when it's difficult. Its for the whole family, not just her.
There's nothing like a great supportive partner in life. My own hubby never makes me feel like I should've done things that make me feel worse physically. He's always there to support me, even when I feel like I've let him down on a particular day. He's always grateful for what I CAN do and not dwelling on what I couldn't do. Even when I take a "selfish" day and do nothing, just to enjoy feeling "normal" again. That's so important.
You guys are a cute couple and it's so obvious how much you love each other. Keep doing whatever makes you guys happy - you guys have such a positive vibe about you that inspires others to do the same. 🤗 You have great thing going for you!

I was recently diagnosed with a hiatal hernia which causes anxiety symptoms, irregular heartbeat, reflux, nausea, shortness of breath, weight loss etc. It was induced by exercise. Doctors don’t recommend surgery so this is chronic. There’s a lot of guilt seeing your husband go into depression from seeing you suffer for something you caused yourself

My ex had brain aneurysm, it was such a painful experience for me. I do not know how to handle it emotionally to an extend I myself got drained by it and started to became depress and lost my temper on him when I didn't realise we both became codependent on each other..I learned a great deal about myself from this relationship when it was over

Due to the extreme fatigue caused by my illnesses, I often barely have the energy to take care of myself. So I don’t have as much space to fulfill my partner’s needs as the average person would.
I know this is hard for him and can make him feel neglected and like he deserves more, like an equal give and take. Sometimes I also feel like it isn’t fair to him. But the alternative, not having a relationship at all because I don’t have enough energy to meet a partner’s needs (in a healthy, interdependent way) feels unfair to me. I deserve love even though I am sick.
Does this come up in your relationship? If so, how do you deal with it?
