FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore, V for Vendetta takes place in an alternate vision of Britain in which a corrupt and abusive totalitarian government has risen to complete power. During a threatening run in with the secret police, an unassuming young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) is rescued by a vigilante named V (Hugo Weaving) -- a caped figure both articulate and skilled in combat. V embodies the principles of rebellion from an authoritarian state, donning a mask of vilified would-be terrorist of British history Guy Fawkes and leading a revolution sparked by assassination and destruction. To me this scene explains one improtant thing: The prison is only in your mind! Fear's an illusion.
You are a person who has never been kicked around a room by a couple of thugs, who have been told
"Enough, Put the prisoner back in its chair now, I have more questions" by the calm, almost disinterested torturer.
It would take me half an hour, to prove to you the utter inanity of your statement that "Fear's an illusion" and you would beg to confess your sin. An extra hour, and I would show you your first fear had been utterly insufficient, then I would leave you in a cell, in a noisy corridor, and your unending anticipation of more degradation at any second the door opening and it beginning again, would be infinitely worse then the first lesson itself, and you would be horrified to find that EVEN THAT, was nothing compared to the display of the ACTUAL tools of inquiry, and the reading of your sentence.
And then it goes on for DAYS, until you finally think you are passing out of all care . . . and of course the torture is stopped, and your MOST vulnerable relative is conducted into the cell, and told "Here is a medical kit, nurse him back to health, you have five days. When you have done, it will be YOUR turn in the chair".

Hugo was the perfect candidate for this character. You can't see his face, only that mask, but every movement if his head paired with the tone of his voice makes you forget that's not a face but a mask. Amazing actor, amazing cast, amazing plot, amazing movie that has more meaning today than ever before!
This is cruel what V did to her but again Evey wouldn’t have had the courage to confront her fear that’s been plaguing her whole life
She lost her parents her brother and any semblance of hope considering the totalitarian government has on the world
V saved her soul

This scene left me confused cause on one hand the intention was positive and for Eve's benefit but on the other hand he tortured her for days. That's why I love this movie V isn't purely good or purely evil he's a psychopathic revolutionist who wants to free the country by doing heinous acts. He's not black and white he is grey.

Well, what is everyone afraid of losing? Their comfortable lifestyle! If there is corruption, people turn a blind eye to what the government does so they can stay comfortable! Citizens give up more of their rights up to the government to obtain a false sense of security! When you oppose the corruption YOU become the very villain of society! You'll be labeled terrible things by the corrupt establishment and so people just obey and stay quiet! However, when you're ready to sacrifice everything for a better country! A better society! A fair society! A free society! Then you must sacrifice everything, including yourself, to make that statement and fight for whatever is right! The U.S had to fight a war against the British Empire to become its own country! The U.S had people who made many sacrifices to be a free and fair nation for all.....only to be deceived by those in power again! V loved her so much that he made her stronger mentally that nothing could hurt her or manipulate her fear into obeying!
That's would be happened if they are made Solo star wars Story sequel or Darth Vader series where we see 10 years old Ezra Bridger that he was keep watching over by Darth Vader and Qi'ra, five years later Ezra almost killed by Vader because Anakin knowed that Kanan was a kid when he Lost Depa in Bad Batch and four years later, Thrawn reveals at Ezra that Darth Vader Is Anakin and so Vader removes his Mask at Ezra three years before empire strikes back.

I was surprised he said a lazy "yeah" instead of "yes". Throughout the whole movie he uses such excellent grammar and pronunciation that I was surprised by a "yeah", seemed out of character.

I think the scene was odd because the audience cannot make out what is actually happening and why Valerie is important to the story, not until after V reveals himself

There's a reason, why we feel close to others and ourselves, when we cry. Because the tears are our united souls. Crying and sadness unites us all. From the day we are born, we all are able to cry. The only thing that makes us one, are our tears. And the mind, is the only thing that separates us. But we need to learn, how to cry with our minds. That is the characteristic of a cleansed and a pure mind. I hope this word "Anyway", guides you in being able to cry in your mind. You can become everything, that is an obstacle and thus, you can overcome it through "Anyway". Doubts, fears, guilt, pain, suffering, evil inside can be obstacles. "Become it. Overcome it." when you become, what you want to overcome, you overcome, what you want to become. Anyway is the way to become and to overcome anything. Making you able to cry with your mind. Crying is like feeling with it. Same as your soul. You don't get to cry in the soul by exclusive concentration on the heart area, but by actually feeling your crying intention, to which you always have access to.
And crying in your body, whenever the tears choose to come. Not forced but accepted. And the fact that we all can cry, is the fact, that there is goodness in everyone. Even the most evil ones, possess sadness and are able to cry. And therefore we are all linked to God. From the tear, everything is born in us. And I cry every moment, because I realized, that it is pure goodness and Godhood in an individual. Water is pure goodness. And when we die, we die a deathless death. Because water, the source of life and our being cannot die, as long as we are able to cry. This is actually the secret to enlightenment, which should not be passed on. But when you understand, that you and me are same in our united tears and souls, this secret is no secret. But that is the point in which it is a secret. Not everyone knows that we are one like water and that we are it. And that we contain everything in the universe. To end this I quote the movie V For Vendetta: "God is in the rain.".
