- Hey, I made this video for a discussion-based seminar class I have for school. The video clip contained within is of V's Television Speech to the masses. Tell me how the questions at the end are.
- Krátké a kreslené filmy
"Words retain their Power."
"Words Mean things."
"Liars attempt to Change the Meaning of Words to Confuse You."
Like trying to tell us that a baseball is a softball, and that a spoon is actually a fork if it wants to be?
@@user-zp6ff2gr4nsome day you'll understand the difference between inanimate objects and people
Lol, yeah.
Settling down.
Expand horizon.
Spread wings
They aren't just words. They are perspectives.💙💙
They dont call it treason if you win
Always loved this scene. So many different characters in the film just stopping everything to listen to what this madman has to say. They were eager to hear it.
Madman & patriot are two names for the same person. They don't call it treason if you win.
*It took 16 years for this video to gain traction. Now it's in my recommended everyday. Good job!*
Thanks! Yeah, it’s an old high school project and I’m surprised at how much it’s taken off recently!
@@judgementday13 It's partly due to the age of the video vs the new interactions (comments, likes, response from creator, etc). Your video is so old that any new interactions are so heavily weighted by the algorithm that I wouldn't be surprised if this has 1M views within the week due to being pushed in the recommended section. I'm glad you're able to witness the fruits of your labor nearly two decades later :)
@@blankspace178 Oh interesting, thanks for the info. I hope so too!
@@blankspace178 "I wouldn't be surprised if this has 1M views within the week " 4 months later, and it still hasn't even broken 50,000 views. So much for that claim.
@@ElEspectroDeLaMi That wasn't really a claim....at no point did I say it was guaranteed to happen. And 4 months later I still pop back to watch it, so the magic of the clip is still there :)
So, turns out that this speech fits perfectly to today's London and UK.
Really?? What is the political climate like there?
It applies pretty damn well to the US as well
Corruption is rampant in the government and things are bleak for the average citizen. If you're not born into money you're screwed. Mothers chose between food and heating in the winter and the safety net that once protected the most vulnerable in our country has been eroded. Our essential services have been cut so deep you may not get a ambulance if an emergency was to occur and Good luck getting a doctors appointment. Out army is a laughing stock and publicly mocked by other countries. The law doesn't matter anymore. What matters most is how much money you have.
To the entire western world, really, and anywhere it has its claws in.
America also
One should never be loyal to the government, only to its citizens.
Watching in 2023 & I can't help but think that between this & 1984 (Orwell's novel, not the year) there are some scary parallels to the world we're in and where we may be going.
We read 1984 as a warning the TORIES, REFORM & EDL etc consider it a manual for power.
Now we need a V.
you can add BRAVE NEW WORLD on list. brasil, Fahrenheit 451 fits there too. and dont forget on 12 monkeys, equilibrium and soylent green ;)
Yup
"may be?"
I find it difficult to understand how people who stand against Islam are labeled fascists, when Islam is a fascist regime.
🤷🏼♂️
What's worse, you've got feminists supporting Islam, which is just ridiculous.
:"If you're looking for the guilty, you only need to look in a mirror."
Ouch.
Not authoritarian takes power by force alone. Their power is given to them willingly by those who have been convinced that it is in their best interest to do so.
@TryHard-tr8mn that's how most dictators rise to power the only dictator I can actually think of that did indeed have the peoples best interests in mind was Julius Ceasar and as far as dictators go Ceasar was a pretty fair one and a decent man too so it's no wonder he was so well liked by the majority of rome's populace with the members of the Roman senate being the only likely exception mainly because he was planning on stripping them of their power and giving that power to the people of Rome
Rings more true now than ever!! Great find and thanks for the share!!
No problem, thanks for watching!
V for vendetta was as much a warning for the rest of the world as it was for England
Imagine him starting the line with "Mr. Anderson"
love that bit of the soundtrack at the end.
Thanks! Yeah, I really love that track.
"Evey Reborn" is one of THE best compositions for a film score ever. It was so good, it's been used a TON in trailers for other movies; it was put to perfect use in the Inception trailer.
@@ElEspectroDeLaMi I agree, it’s fantastic! I didn’t realize that about the Inception trailer, I gotta re-watch it.
I remember this movie every time some greasy politician starts promising “order” and “security” while only asking for “silent consent”.
High Chancellor, sounds like a title some Austrian painter once used for himself 🤔
High Chancellor, Supreme Leader, General Secretary, all the same.
Hugo Weaving though. I could listen to him for days on end. Agent Smith if he was a good guy lol
But is he a good guy? or just insane? Remember he captures Evey and subjects her to several days (weeks? months?) of physical and psychological torture. She comes to accept this, but V had essentially broken her brain. Her taking up V's cause is no more valid than an abuse victim standing by his or her abuser. And remember, Guy Fawkes wasn't a freedom fighter. He was a Catholic extremist who wanted to install a Catholic monarch who would presumably eradicate protestants from England.
That's part of the fun in the complexity of his character though.
You could make a convincing argument that he is both a good or a bad character.
@@matwatson7947 I think anti-hero works in this particular situation.
Agent smith the real choosing one
Words have meaning.. If you can change the meaning any time you want, then you cant accuse politicians of corruption. But the LAW CAN ACCUSE YOU OF A CRIME FOR ANYTHING YOU SAY!
I take the politicians “I don’t recall” rhetoric to heart.
Amazing video, thank you for this.
Of course, no problem, thanks for watching!
Most importantly: Answer these questions as if you are not an American. November 5th is not an American celebration. Truth and Justice are truth and justice, regardless of where you live.
Very true.
Parts of my country are like this now.
Which country??
@@judgementday13
Judging from his own vids, New Mexico or west Texas in 'Murica. And, he's correct.

No matter how well structured or how much control you have on your creation of a domino tower, there will be a cat to knock it down
How relevant that speech is today .... George Orwell , then V ;)
I hope V will have a new movie...someone who will wear again the mask...
Really veterans of...😮
Yeah, it might not be the first time, too. Some believe that the U.S. blew up the ship, the Maine and blamed it on Spain in 1895 in order to fuel hatred towards Spain and start the Spanish-American War, a war that was largly motivated by big business' need for foriegn raw materials. The present-day parallel could be our country's need for oil.
All wars are bankers wars, to indebt a nation with a “peace treaty “ what a game play
Gulf of Tonkin was even more recent.
True.
Cough cough 9/11 cough
ok i shall state this again the book
was written in the 80' long before 911
try knowing a bit about the sorce matarial before you ask questions
And long before Covid too
Gulf of Tonkin.
Some would say it's already happened in America... on the 11th of September.
I'm not saying that its what happened. Not at all. But I am suggesting, both the plague - and the disaster of Sept 11.. are different scenarios, with the same result. More power for government. Logic dictates this, and its irrefutable to say otherwise.
1 I don't think it expresses "the highest respect for the law." Perhaps to end suffering, for future generations, to shine a light. I've been an activist for +25 years. I've see contempt for bad laws.
2That's a matter of opinion. After a certain point my opinion doesn't matter
3 Loyalty to Friends, family, community. Personal values always need to be reexamined, like government principles. Not the suspicion of government but by effects you see
