Hardly knew anyone in the crusaders team all those young players did well having not played for 4 months
same for Munster.... only a few first team players (this was a friendly right in the middle of 2 leages (URC and European cups) and Six Nations... so B team vs B Team (or even C teams)
Bring more games to Cork. This stadium is ideal for rugby. This is where Munster should play there Cork games. Great win 🎉

What a great game even though my side lost. Ireland is always such a great place for passion in sport.
Munster are displaying a team of future as are Crusaders. Entertaining match to the end. What do the whingers want from both sides ? Its the thrill of your life in the final moments of a rugby fan whether your team has won or lost in the final moments . Its not victory or loss, its that your heart can stay in your chest whilst you wait with baited breath and your heart pounding in your eardrums on the final whistle. Great game played by both teams.

If this (which is a great idea) gonna be a annal feature, then I hope they alternate hosting rights fairly between northern & southern hemispheres not like in the league form where one hemisphere holds a huge lobsided advantage as hosts which dates back to 1976 (SuperLeague/Nth: 23 - NRL/Sth: 6 home games)

7 senior & 6 u20 players missing on international duty. 16 players missing through injury. 2 players made their debut & another 2 started for the first time. If everybody was available, of that team only Coombes, Nankivell, Frisch & Daly would start with bench places for Archer, Kendellan & Carbery

As an Aussie, that crusaders team was full of players I have not seen.
This was a munster B or C team - only maybe 3 or 4 fist team players

Not really. This was an opening preseason match with most of their top players rested. The Saffas could barely beat them when they were involved with the Super competition anyway.
@@rory7590 yes .. the crusaders were able to beat the SA teams mostly due to the jetlag that SA teams had to deal with. But the SA teams did bring a robust defense that Kiwis DONT like and it was clear from this match that the Munster team were defending aggressively

I don't know about the munster team but the crusaders team that won the southern hemisphere cup was pretty much a completely different team. That team would have mopped the floor with Munster.

Munster were also missing all their players who made the Ireland Six Nations squad, nine in total. And I think also players who were with the Irish U20's and injuries too.
No doubt they played well, as you say with less than their best team. I'm no NZ supporter, but they've had a long layoff over summer, or what passes for summer in NZ..

Still a loss, I dont think it will go down as.... Munster 21 - 19 Crusaders (not the full team) in the records like, Just take the loss like a man and move on.
Then send the full team next time. We're happy to chalk up victories if you send undercooked teams our way. Wasn't the full URC winning Munster team either. Seems we can field sub-par sides and win, but you can't.

When will Irish commentators realize that calling the loose forward "the back-row" is an anachronism? There is only one player in the back row of the scrum viz. the No. 8. Similarly, calling the locks "the second row." There are four players in that row of the scrum. I don't think a 3-2-3 scrum has packed down since WW2.

Being penalised for early engagement is why rugby union has become a referees' game. Just change this stupid rule and let scrums bind and chuck the ball in and get on with the game.
