today i also hooked this up to an SMD V1 15" subwoofer and rode it wide open out in the open air on the bench....at 10hz. I am convinced that the SMD sub is indestructible unless you really REALLY try. I have never seen a sub stretch out like that! Hit like if you wanna see it i will upload next. nah...that is the mids/highs on the test bench. The RCA's feeding the amp dont distort until 59-60 but the hi level outputs that the 6.5's are hooked up to distort at like 40 haha....so ya you can really hear them.

Steve is going to need to upgrade the bench to handle that 20k lol always a fan of these amp tests

Ive seen those amps have a short lifespan. They offer extreme amounts of power in a compact space. But not for very long. They burn up easily and release the smoke. Not built as well for the money like Rockford. I still cant wait to see the 20k though and the insane test bench thats going to power that beast lol

Been pushing the sd3000.1D EVO 2 on .5 ohms for 6 months without any problems. They allso have a really good protection system.

My Stetsom 7k has been doing 6k @9.9V rising to a perfect 1 Ohm through a single 0/1 for 7 years.
(I only have a single Mechman 220A and 4 $50 walmart little car batts)
Works perfect every day.
Doesn't shut off til 9.5V.
Seems they did change single to double inputs on battery input side over the evo's single inputs. Nice vid!

However, Today most car audio batteries hold over 14volts and more.
As a car guy (mechanic) every day alternators push out 14.8volts all day.
I love the internal design of this amp, JBL had used transformers like that for the power supply section in the gto 14001! An Orion HCCA 3000.1DSPLX will put out 13K at 0.5 ohm which it is not rated to handle on these dyno's but will not go into protect!

Man only problem ordering amps from brazil is they screwed up my order smh I ordered and paid for a taramps hd8000 a month ago and tomorrow I am getting two hd3000 2ohm amps instead while some guy in NYC is getting my amp on the 29th while the seller expects us to exchange them via mail and hope for the best... one day I might get the $600 amp I paid for lol

Just remember bro a creative mind is not something to waste.
In the long term for a more extensive amp dyno you could get an engine test stand and throw an old Chevy 350 or some cheap v8 on it and make an exhaust setup with cats and mufflers that runs to the outside to limit pollution and exhaust note sound so you can run the alternator off the engine to better simulate what the dyno would be experiencing in an actual vehicle setup. The stands honestly aren’t that expensive and it would make a cool video build series.

re-creating alts actually running could be done easier with a large AC motor or 2, a small stand and alts of your choice, all belt driven from the wall socket, could be a nice clean setup if done right

Tried looking through to see if anyone else noticed that you didn’t add a y split to put the two inputs on the single channel. The amp has one input for both channels. And a single to slave to another. I say this because my buddy blew up his 8k sound digital amp and we were puzzled as to why but we came up with the reasoning that it was due to putting an input signal through the output and possibly creating some sort or ground loop. It blew his pioneer ktmbt50 head unit as well. I’m no expert by any means but didn’t know if others have experienced the same?
