I am not going to sit here and blame this amp for what I just did to it.
I must have tested it 20 times and got it real warm before I decided to run
one more at 100hz. It just couldn't take it anymore on the load bank. It would
probably still be alive if it were on an actual speaker.
That being said, Does anyone want this thing? I will send it to the first person that names this amp AND how much power it actually put out at 100hz before it burned up. This contest open to anyone in the world but you must live in the USA for free shipping. Anyone outside of the USA must agree to pay their own shipping if you really want it. It obviously does NOT work anymore and is more of a trophy or a showpiece. Hang it on the wall!
Stay tuned, Subscribe, turn on your notifications. The follow up video to this one will be longer, show more testing, and reveal the name of the amp and all power testing results. The winner will be announced on THAT video, NOT this one as this is just a teaser.
Thanks for watching and Ill see you soon! I'm out, like this amp.

2993 watts !!!🎉
Poor EX didn't like that lol
Burt To Toast is the brand.
Texas Style is the model name.
Google says "average watts for toaster is 1100".
Stetsom bravo 3k it dies 3100ish cause it was climbing fast when you said 2700
Soundigital 3100w
That's a nice ampli-fire you got there 😂
Soundigital 3k
3427rms
I see what you did there, i like it😂
Firestarter - 2388 watts when it blew at 103hz at 2ohms
With the lid being off (fans useless) plus the heat sink down thermal management was compromised from the get go.
nah not really. It would have happened no matter what.
@@meade916 I was trying to give it a fair shot, I guess it's under-engineered then if you insist.
@@v12alpine It didn't spend a day under a hot seat in the middle of the summer getting clipped to death by some teenager. It was in the wide open shop with the lid open, plenty of air. The SMD AD-1 Amp Dyno load bank is tough on amps if they aren't built strong enough. That is why I clearly said "if it was on a speaker this probably would not have happened". So settle down.
Stetsom EX3000 BLACK EDITION 2 OHMS, Max power the amp did before blowing up was 2993 rms but the figure it did before burning was 2308 rms.
Steve. Your getting better with age!
❤ gonna wait for it lol :) love you're content actually makes sense appreciated Steve
I feel like what killed it was the fact you had the cover off so the cooling solution the amp had wasn't being effective and allowed it to overheat. A sheet of plexiglass would have been sufficient in keeping the airflow and allow you to film the internals.
nah. It had enough air. It got hot way to fast for it to cool itself no matter what I did. Now if it was on speakers and not the load bank I am almost positive the amp would not have caught fire. That is a brutal test. Speakers are forgiving. Their impedance changes so much that it is less stressful on the amp than a solid straight to the dome 1 or 2 ohm test on the bank that doesn't move.
(2993)watts at max before it blew 😮
Stetsom 3k?
Guessing it's a Stetsom EX3000 Black 2-Ohms Mono 1-Channel amp. And 2993 watts?
What I like about this vid is that you owned the smoke! for the purpose of the vid you could have easily blamed the amp and most viewers would be non the wiser, but you were straight up and owned up! respect! (impressive smoking from the bench too! :D )
I think it was right around 3000 before it blew Steve.
That amp is named Fukit!imOut!
It was cooking. Lol 😂
It is a Stetson EX 3000 . It blew at 2308 watts
You said 2700 at 100hz but I saw 2993 before it decided to clip and pop. Also pretty sure that’s a Stetsom amp ex3000
If you need more exact it’s an ex3000 amp
Why didn't it go into protect
good question.
Sometime the over current protection doesn't work while this happens rarely its not supposed to happen but it happens mainly in high stress scenarios like this test tones are very hard on amps
It doesn't need to . Protect in an amplifier will only do as much as the manufacturer intended it to . Being so overpowered is exactly what happened to the anp .
Priva or stetsom
Protection does not protect power supply section mosfets short circuit
Stetsom 3k I saw 2388 watts right before the clip light came on & it started sparking.
soundigital 2k made 2900 rms
Sound digital Evo
I seen it top out at 2949
It will be days before you can get rid of the smell of cooked transistor.
It made 2993 Watts. I can't fully name it but I can tell that's its class ab. Since it has no driver board and no output filters. Maybe a stetsom ex 3000 black edition.
Stetsom bravo 3000 2 ohm version
Dyno 2850
lot of power for a little amp 💥
I saw 2175 before Felicia said bye
Also saw 2143
I would name it black beauty and I say around 2850
Stetsom Bravo Attack 3k. And put out 2,993 watts before it let go.
That's actually impressive 😂
Stetsom 3k either Vulcan or Bravo Edition
Timpano or Stetsom 3k
oh yes I had that same reaction when I had my sundown full bridge amp go like that except I was driving and was playing it at low volume scared the shit outta me had to pull over real quick to disconnect it
Lol. Wicked cool.
It tried.
It died.
🔥
Sound digital, and right when it began crackling from the amp, it put out 2308 watts.
Ahhhh shame u don't deserve that after all the beautiful content you create . You have I spired so nany of us .
Starburstdabs says hi bro 😂😂
I hate it when that happens i caught my 79 ford pinto on fire in 1992 with an old zapco amp hooked to 4 15 inch speakers i took out of old console house stereos but that thing was bumping for the time
Always fun to find the edge 😮
tpt3000 2 ohm 2993
Holy smokes
My man you void the warranty lol ...
nope I stuck the stickers back down. haha
It would look really good in my buddys shop lol. 👌
Definitely RMA it 🤣 🤣.. it's the normal thing to do 😂
That scared you good Lol
i wasn't super "scared" just a little startled. That first snap, crackle and pop was more violent in person LOL
stetsom black 3K
deffently a brizillian
Facts 😂
That looks like a Mcintosh C8 tube amp eddie bauer edition
2361@100hz before it left the building Stetsom bravo attack 3k
Stetsom EX3000, 2993W on video
2308 @102hz I seen before it got sent to the moon. I believe it's a Sundown 3k ?
waveforms were like
/😈\/😈\/😈\
That’s my old Comcast DVR
random thought. has he ever done Alpine stuff? thats my high (mid range) goto
stetsom bravo
3k black Edition 4ohms mono Amplifier
2361w 100hz
Stetsom Vulcan , 3013
So the amplifier was clearly oscillating and you kept hammering on it?
Looks like my stetsom 3k lol might be that one
Would the protection not kick on from being too hot?
Nope, not in the real world, the thermal circuit is just useless in almost all amplifiers. A tech can change the thermal slope to make them work a little better but it adds quite a bit to the repair bill.
it should have if it had that in it. I don't know if it does. Most good amps do have that feature but this is such a hardcore torture test I am not sure that would have helped. If it was under your seat in the summer time slowly roasting while you take it to clip-city playing your favorite jam, it SHOULD thermal if it can't take it. Thermal circuits on amps that have them can usually save themselves when they see it slowly coming as opposed to what I did to it on the bench.
Looked like it hit 2993 watts
Timpano tpt bass 3k?
Need it for the collection to go along with the kicker headphones🎧
Rockford?
3000watt burnn?
stetsom 3k, 2993 watts
Timpano tpt 3000 or stetsom ex 3000
Send it i repair amps every day
I saw 2953 watts. Timpano TPT 3k
2995w stetsom ex3000, send it to Brasil 😁😁
Found it!!
It can be fixed.
I’ll take it
Stetsom bravo attack 3k
3130 watts @100hz
I guess everyone is saying 2993 but I'm sure it did just over 3k on the runs before the fire lol.
2867. My guess is taramps bass 3k 1 ohm
No
If it had a fuse it probably wouldn't have done that
the power wire is on a fuse. Those rarely stop an amp from burning up even if they are onboard anyway.
Whatever brand of that amp is. I don’t want it anymore
Soundigital
3472rms
WOW it’s almost like removing the case on forced-cooling electronics negatively affects its internal airflow and ability to keep cool! WHO KNEW! 🙄
nah. That little fan wouldn't have stopped this. Settle down sport.
Junk 🔥
Stetsom black 3k
Was it dio or kiss first????
Taramps 3k
2527 watts
Stetsom 3k 2367
2308 on failure, can't figure out the amp brand yet
stetsom ex 3000
Perso, j'ai un ampli de rave party qui fait 3200 w , il pése 25-30 kg , il alimente 8 caissons de 2 x 38cm = 16 x 38 cm , cet ampli doit faire 30 A = 30 X 12 v = 360 w MAX 😂
Stetsom ex 3000 my bad...
Easy fix. no biggie
Ds18 2500
Oh ya, nothing like flamage from some transistors begging for mercy. The smell of money!
Bad ass
Ex3000
We're is the amp
Stetsom digital bass 3k?
Or Stetsom Bravo 3k

@@meade916 WOW i wait to see that you are nice , you can do VIDEO of That i Watch all your video
I can fix this amp
I would say it's the "timpano 3k amp" or "taramps bass 3k amp" or the big boss 3k it died right around 3k but after some heavy testing
TARAMPS don’t blow Anymore , that was old tech back then , they Now Run the Competition Lanes 💯✅
