I'm almost positive how they portray "Zach" is like a call back to Zach Morris from Saved by the Bell who was notorious for being an asshole and disregarding everyone around him

Something cool was that Gumball was originally going to be a black cat to associate him with bad luck! They changed him to light blue because it would've been hard to animate a character that is essentially a silhouette, and also didn't want his bad luck to be his defining trait.
The 2D and 3D animations in this show are really well spliced together.

Not sure how much of a regional thing this is, but those turtles were meant to be based off the soft shell snapping turtle. (edit: thought it was the alligator snapping turtle, which I know as a Floridian, but thank you person in the replies for correcting me.) Iâm not an expert on them, but obviously parts of it are made up in the episode, like their strength, capabilities, and most likely the climax, since that was definitely a take on Aliens. However, what I can confirm is accurate is the design, the ability to charge faster than the average turtle, and that it is best to stay far away from and not provoke. (And the long neck now that I know itâs a soft shell) In conclusion, Richard was definitely at fault for bringing a creature into a family home so dangerous that Iâm surprised it didnât chomp half of his hand off when he abducted it

1. Where did you get that number? The only actual numbers I can find are from the "List of Deaths" Wiki (and even that's unreliable because it includes things like "Joyful Banana Joe - Kicked away by a infected Gumball to keep hugging Penny.")
2. He's been involved in the death of at *least* 100 (the Virus and its Army).
Edit: I found the article you referenced, but even THAT's unreliable, because it includes things like "In the episode The Voice, Gumball hits William with a tennis racket, knocking him out of a window" even though we never see if this kills him, and he comes back in later episodes regardless.
