P.S. While I do not recommend psychedelics to those below age 25... I have to admit that I wouldn't have been able to turn my life around without using them therapeutically, in my late 20's. I've always been open-minded, in many ways, but very rigid in others. The psychedelics helped me leap over mental blocks I'd solidified in my psyche, to form new healthier neuropathways.
If you are under 25, better to focus on forming healthy pathways while your thought-patterns are still forming.
(P.S. an older sibling had me try them for the first time at 14, I used them socially any time I was around that sibling. They never delivered the results that I gained while using them therapeutically solo.)

So, no, he is not a fake guru, at least not when it comes to spirituality. Leo isn’t using the term “gaslighting” properly, but the principle holds somewhat true in the sense that, on the path to awakening, your experiences will be misunderstood and many people will invalidate them because they don’t match their worldview. This can erode one’s sense of reality. It’s something that happens more so on an unconscious level though. At the same time, delusional people face the same kind of butting heads with most people who are more firmly grounded in consensus reality.

Leo always stresses an important point, that everything he says you shouldn’t take as a fact. He says these are his experiences but you have to do the thousands of hours of work to verify these truths. Fake gurus and con artists would just say “take my word, buy my course”. Leo never says he’s correct in any of his theories. He tells the viewer to verify through direct experience rather than blind faith. And he only promotes his courses after three hours of content.
Making a video criticizing him is exactly the low level behavior that Leo warns against. He’s actually doing real research in psychedelic and consciousness while you’re here doing nothing and trying to capitalize on his fame.

Taking psychedelics for 1000s of hours does not increase one's knowledge, especially because when I listen to what he says, and look at what he writes, it's embarrassing compared to a true academic intellectual or philosopher. So many of his followers are illiterate, are incapable of digesting anything of true intellectual worth. Leo is boosting, he's catering to your own narcissism and delusional fantasy of being a "high consciousness" person.
In my personal experience, I can't verify anything he says. I think it's all nonsense, literal non-sense, zero sense perception. God consciousness is abstract, vague, and mystical, the complete opposite of experiencing the world as it is.

Besides, everyone has their biases and blind spots. All intellectuals say stupid or nonsensical things at some point. You just throw out their bad ideas and keep moving.

  • @unknownhollow4141
    @unknownhollow4141 Před rokem +2

I'm being gaslit by Sam Vaknin. He says that the digital is an attention economy and escapism from the physical, as if anime is a false ''reality'' distracting me, but the anime ''86'' clearly shows that a decadent society will be destroyed by AI. Therefore I discovered the truth of our existence before any intellectual. Anime is my guru.
Anime makes me intellectually superior on a level that neither you, Sam Vaknin or even Leo Gura can begin to comprehend. For example: none of you know how accurately a school shooting can be described by Attack on Titan and no intellectual demonstrates what constitutes our identity like Kokoro Connect does. I even watched The Terminator and Pinocchio before Sam Vaknin talked about the problem with defining what ''human'' is. The Matrix came out long before the first free to download PDF of Plato's Cave and South Park showed me how deluded we all are thinking that pirates are like Jack Sparrow instead of desperately poor Somalis.
The permanent absence of anime in academic curricula and discussions is a Marxist oppression that is only touched upon by Jordan Peterson and his analysis of Disney movies. In other words: intellectual hegemony depends on permanently denying the higher wisdom of anime. I find that inescapably abusive and if that isn't gaslighting than what is?
Now on a serious note: science, reason and logic depend on the ability to differentiate models of reality that are more or less valid, reliable and predictive for a specific purpose. For example: viewing the body as a molecular machine leads to more effective treatments for severe disease than an ayurvedic view. Notice how none of the guru's or intellectuals on the internet demonstrate such differentiation. For example: how do we treat a body that is physical different from a body that is an appearance of conciousness? No guru or intellectual will answer such question. Sam Vaknin has developped ''cold therapy''. When and where did Sam Vaknin present scientific evidence for the effectiveness of his treatment? Leo is just noticebly one of the worst.

Anime is too good for this world obviously

You need the Deathnote to pass judgment on this rotten world
And I need Sebastian Michaelis to eat my soul
      :3
      ---
When you say, "a body that is physically different from a body that is an appearance of consciousness," I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Is it kind of like the material vs. spiritual? Or the concrete vs. the abstract? Appearance of consciousness... Like figments of our imaginations? Ideas? I'm sure some kind of philosopher in the past may have answered this question, probably no current public intellectual though. I guess treating cancer is much more obvious since you can actually see it and cut it out. But treating narcissism is funny because you can't see it and just cut it out. It's far more abstract, loose, and immaterial. Tackling such a thing is a nightmare.
You could be right that no other intellectuals seem to differentiate from different models of reality. Maybe it's assumed by most people that they are all operating on the same model, and that's where much of the confusion and disagreement comes from because people don't first clarify their models. It reminds me of what I said that reason doesn't really work without parameters. You can't really make intellectual progress or knowledge groundwork until you first decide your boarders of reality or have a result you're aiming for.
I can't remember if Sam Vaknin presented any evidence for "cold therapy." All I remember him saying was that it cures a narcissist of his/her grandiosity, but nothing else. I guess I never noticed because I wasn't interested in curing whatever narcissism resided in myself or other people I knew. Also, I guess for certain claims scientific proof is expected while for other things it's taken for face value. Even if Sam Vaknin didn't have proof, I think it'd be worth a shot to try his "cold therapy" since he's very credible, at least compared to most people, and because there's no alternative treatment to narcissism. But also Vaknin says psychology is a form of literature, so why should we even expect scientific proof, especially if narcissism is more of an idea rather than something you have like cancer. If we do expect science, how do we integrate it with a field with a literature like foundation. The whole thing is confusing, and whenever an answer arises, three more questions arise. A lot of this stuff is beyond us. Humans are making it up as they go along. But compared to Leo Gura who just sounds idiotic and has zero credibility, some false ideas appear better than others/ Maybe psychology is a more sophisticated form of conartistry! I don't know. It reminds me of how abstraction is humanity's double-edged sword.

@@Kasperanzaa I was hinting at a philosophical debate that's been going on for thousands of years: metaphysical idealism versus physicalism. Any explanation of this debate is inadequate and can easily be misunderstood. For example: explaining metaphysical idealism as mind over matter can be misunderstood as solipsism and can lead to magical thinking. Such misunderstandings are a feature, not a bug for charlatans like Leo Gura.
For clarity I'd like to explain physicalism as a spectrum of views that share the assumption that we are part of a world that exists independent from our perception and that all aspects of the world including our experience boil down to physics. Unfortunately, my explanation of physicalism can still be misrepresented and misunderstood in many ways. For example: ''consciousness is a product of the brain'' is an ignorant or misleading interpretation of physicalism because this interpretation paints our experience as a non-physical thing through (ab)use of language. Again, such ignorant or misleading interpretations seem to be a feature rather than a bug for the likes of Richard Dawkins.
In contrast, I'd like to explain metaphysical idealism as a spectrum of views that share the assumption that we can't seperate observer from observed. All we know are appearances and ideas. Notice how this explanation refrains from jumping to any conclusion about the nature of reality.
The debate between metaphysical idealism and physicalism can teach you how difficult it can be to disentangle observer from observed, idea from reality and abstract from concrete. For example: any particular type of chronic inflammation like Crohn's disease is an abstraction, because there's a countless variety of mechanisms that can have a similar looking result, much like mental illness.
There seems to be a lack of shared understanding that can not be overcome with words. For example: controlling by letting go. Good luck explaining that to the manager. Some knowledge seems indescribable, like how we apply adequate force when shaking hands, holding an object and closing a door. Look how erratic birds move their heads. Now imagine how people would react to us moving our heads like birds. So we ask them to define the adequate speed and direction to achieve the goal of not making them uncomfortable...
Yes I'm confused, but some narratives seem ''better'' than others or are presented as such. The superiority of a narrative, even when fictional, should be demonstrated. For example: is the world wide web an archetypical devouring mother (spider) or an archetypical sun, a source of knowledge dispelling the darkness (ignorance)? There are countless youtubers dedicated to telling such stories as a form of self-help, possibly wasting time and energy of their viewers. Literature is not merely art, but extrinsically motivated and should be held accountable as such.
Leo especially refuses any accountability. His self-defense mechanism is amazing, possibly an adaptive trait. Perhaps Leo truly is the most evolved form of humanity, because psychopaths and narcissists will survive and reproduce more than anyone else.

So, u aren't "wrong," per say, about Leo, but also aren't right about him either. U start your video out by saying, "Leo is a narcissist. He is a crazy person:" These are 2 diametrically opposed concepts, however. A "narc" would be manipulating u (at this level, he'd have to be conscious of it), while a "crazy person" would actually believe their own delusions (u actually address this conflict, yet, never resolve it at an elementary level...???). 2ndly, u are falling into the polorizatuon and dismissal trap, where 1 throws the baby out w the bath water, so to say, meaning, u stop jcritically examining each claim on it's own marrit, and simply begin assuming, basically the opposite of each claim IS WHAR MUST be the truth, and even start lumping similar seeming people in with him, which is evident when u say something like "all spiritual teachers are like this" and "spirituality is for the ignorant" (I'm paraphrasing), but this is just as ignorant. Purposeful manipulators (which is what Leo is) will often front load their bs with a lot of true- often "out there" sounding- things, to sneak in the lie w the bulk, so to speak. This becomes very tricky, as if u just reject everything he says uncritically u end up assuming that the opposite of every "out there sounding" assertion he makes MUST REALLY be whats true; thr problem is, there are many "out there" SOUNDING actual truths, so one ends up just as far away- or perhaps further from truth- than Leo (what ends up occuring is something similar to the concept of "if u can't convince them, confuse them"), as "it's easier to fool a person than convince them they've been fooled." 3rdly,- and building off that last quoted phrase, this is exactly what u are attempting to do, correct; convince people who have been fooled, that they are among that group, ,yes? Therefore, your level of accuracy becomes paramount, so you must come correct (or risk pushing people further into the cult), so one must be extraordinarilly meticulous and very secure in what one is asserting, but u say "I don't know".... well, lets just say, "a lot" lol (it's clearly something you've habituated and, perhaps, u detected this as part of your baseline speech, hopefully, upon playback of the video. Anyway, it's not a saying that exactly fills the listener with confidence in what you're claiming, and since this is really, what one could call, "Leo's expertise- as the "con" in "con-man" is short for "confidence"- the average listener is going to probably just go with whomever comes off as more credible- and, sorry, but, Leo's just got u beat there (however, I do believe, Leo, to be a professional at this so dont take it too hard, and good effort)... your instincts are mostly correct, though, so good on u for that

      1) Actually, if you study narcissism you'll come to discover that narcissists do not consciously manipulate you. Narcissists truly do believe in their own delusions and therefore try to immerse you in a shared fantasy. That is very different from the Machiavellian psychopath who plans his exploitations. This is why Leo has sacrificed, according to him, millions of dollars from Actualized.org, in the name of "truth."
      2) I'm not throwing the baby out with the bathwater because there was no baby to begin with. I'm simply draining a dirty bathtub. All of this public spirituality on CZcams is a filthy swamp like the Dead Marshes in Lord of the Rings.
      3) Yeah, I say "I don't know" a lot because I always second guess myself because I feel that I'm never sure about anything. But it doesn't matter. People who belong to a cult are mind-controlled, and stuck in the cult anyway, so it doesn't matter how convincing I am. Cult followers are beyond reason. They won't realize they've been fooled until thousands of dollars and many years later.
Also, you write terribly with poor grammar so I don't really understand what you're saying.

Bro, why do you even watch this guy. I must admit I had to visit therapy, because of him and his claims about what reality is ( you know the Solipsism stuff) and I suffered from de-realization for about a year. I was in a pretty vurnerable position when exactly I broke with my GF of 7 years and I started seeing Angel Numbers, Tarot Readings,Manifestation and how other people are my puppets ( and I have manifested the war and covid ). And on top of everything Leo was just the cherry on top. I don't know tbh why does CZcams even allow his videos when there are so much reports on his videos, not to mention the people that ended their lives because of him ( I can confirm only 2, but there are probably more). Anyways if someone breaks their mind like I did I suggest you start watching ( New Age to Jesus testimonies and reading your Bible). This whole life is a dream, so I should manifest whatever I want and I am God and I shouldn't care about other people since they are not real never resonated with me so I saw many people turned to Christianity and I was also one of them. It's funny too how Leo says I am the only one here and none of you actually can suffer or feel pain so I shouldn't care about any of you. P.S another keynote I noticed regarding Christianity -> Neville Goddard and Nisargadata Maharaj ( who basically preach Leo's crap or even worse ) , take their time to bash the Bible in all of their works. Why so much hate on the Bible? Why not hate on anything else from all things?

Just remember "god" is a figment in leo's imagination, he's inventing this stuff. "Nisargadata" was a guru scammer, nothing to worry about. He also didn't fully believe his BS and denied his teachings before death. No therapy needed when you can just refute these clowns within 5 min of research.
