    Well, I just bought a nice clean used 2010 TW200. I LOVE IT!

    Still using rotopax? I've been on and off this channel for over 3 years and you've always used them, that's really good to see the build quality of them and how well they work. Keep safe, son!

    Heres a few mods ive done on my TW. Bigger footpegs, folding shifter, rear cargo box, higher gearing, o-ring chain, kenda 270 front tire, handlebar riser. I like the jimbo shield and could use the extra gas i will look into those, thanks.

    i've always been on 4 wheels but recently went to 2 wheels or shall i say added some 2 wheelers, i went with a dr200 and a xt250 oh and a klr650 i guess one could say i couldn't make up my mind but the low and slow idea was my intent also, they don't scream like my modded banchee or 4x like the outlander but they do put a similar kind of fun filled smile on ones face that well at the end of the day is kind of the point.

    WoW! that's an 01? That's a clean little bike. I would have a blast with that exploring the mountains here in Alaska

      I had mine up here and it did OK near Eureka. But it was a challenge on many trails, especially the wet ones... I enjoyed it, but prefer an ATV or UTV on AK trails now.

      It would make a pretty good little commuter for to and from work to.

    I have ridden a TW200 for years. I traded an XT225 for it. The XT was a great dual sport, but the seat was a little higher and hard to get a leg over (I'm 57 with severe arthritis) and I also wanted the wide tires for sand and gravel. I ride in the AZ desert. One of the biggest issues I have with any dual sport is their lack of a centerstand. That makes a flat tire a really big deal when you are way out in the middle of nowhere, and have no way to support the bike so you can remove the wheel. I have a rack similar to yours, I believe it is made by Immix. I have a real milk crate bolted to it, and have saddlebags attached to the side of the milk crate. That's how I carry my stuff. Because the TW has tube type tires, a lot of room is taken up having to carry new tubes, tools for removing the wheels, tools for removing and reinstalling the tires, a 12V electric compressor, etc. When I have a flat, and I've had lots of them, I remove everything from the milk crate, remove the saddlebags, unbolt the milk crate from the rack, flip it over, then lift the bike up on it. Supports the bike very well while fixing either a front or rear flat. For some reason, nobody ever mentions dealing with flat tires on bikes with tube type tires. I have 3-4 flats a year riding around in the desert here. Even a cactus thorn will puncture a tire.

      Maybe it's time to look into slime! eMail me some pics. DougMeyer@ATVTV.Com

    • @vulcan1753
      @vulcan1753 Před 7 lety +2

      The problem I've had with Slime and other tire sealer products is that when you run over something that punctures the tube, it either pops like a balloon, or it wiggles around in the tire, cutting up the tube, before you know you have a flat. I have had very few flats where the tube was patchable when using stock tubes. In the XT I used some super thick 4mm tubes from rockymountainatv.com. the average tube is only about 1mm thick, and even if you do have a fairly small hole, there isn't much for liquid sealants to seal against. Those super thick tubes not only cut down the number of flats, but some of them could be patched as well, because they were so much tougher than stock ones. I wish they made them in sizes to fit the TW. It would be nice if the TW had tubeless tires, like most ATVs do. Yamaha does make a tubeless rim for the rear of the XT250 for non U.S. markets. Tubeless tires can simply be plugged, reinflated, and you can be on your way.

      oh you can check my vids .I ride the 125cc its got faster acceleration than the 200 and it gets me round the trails quick

      Check out the Rotopax website. They have -brackets for the packs but they are heavy steel. I think for the TW I'd make some aluminum ones to fasten to the rack. As for gas packs smaller than the one-gallons - I don't know.....

      ATVTV thanks buddy. I've tried to take every bit of unneeded weight of the bike so I can push it more. but that tank limits your fun. any ideas what tank would fit ? I'm going to have a look now. New sub for you to !

    I loved my TW200...except on the highway between trails. I opened up the air intake to get 55 mph on the hwy...but that little bike was less sweet with a semi passing me.

    • @ATVTVCOM
      @ATVTVCOM  Před 8 lety +1

    • @jjdogbutte
      @jjdogbutte Před 8 lety

      +ATVTV The addition of the rotopax is wise, that is a tiny gas tank on that bike, despite the great mileage. BTW, I'm really enjoying your Pioneer 500 videos, that last one was perfectly timed to remind me to make my first oil change! Cheers!

      Do you happen to know if the tw will run without a battery? Half the people are saying no, while others say yes

      damn thats a shame, id really like to hear the opinion of someone who doesnt cry about having to use both feet when controlling a vehicle. It seems that every idiot on youtube is too busy drooling over the rubber-band drive turbos. The idiots at dirt trax said that the clutch was a HINDRANCE when navigating trails, oddly enough its never been a problem for me on bikes....... That vehicle is the first side by side that actually looks like its put together by someone who wasnt a snowmobile designer.

    • @ATVTVCOM
      @ATVTVCOM  Před 8 lety +2

      We are in a strange new world where people need a completely shiftless transmission and power steering so overpowered that there is absolutely no feel, but need so many LED lights that they can blind oncomers, long travel suspension to ride dirt roads, and Go Pros to (re)capture what they saw while driving to show all their friends. WHY did you get me started?!

    • @waderedsox
      @waderedsox Před 8 lety

      well, if it makes you feel any better you have a kindred spirit in the younger generation, oddly enough i think being able to control the drag on the rear wheels (or front for that matter) comes in handy when trying to maneuver a vehicle around a corner....

    • @ATVTVCOM
      @ATVTVCOM  Před 8 lety

      While that gives me hope for the world, you are in such an incredibly small minority you will be shamed into CVTs and over-powered steering. Or actually there will eventually just be no alternative for you ;-)
