- JFRD responded to a residential structure fire to an apartment building in which crews were met with heavy smoke coming from a multi unit building. As more crews arrived on scene, command realized that the fire was now in the common attic space and more manpower was needed, so a second alarm was called.
Crews worked at setting up a ladder pipe in case interior crews were unable to get the fire under control from the inside as flames had now vented through the roof.
Fortunately interior crews handled business and an exterior fight was not needed.
Sit back and watch this RAW footage and see various tasks going on across the scene during this fire fight and race of time.
There were no injuries in this fire...the cause of the fire was under investigation by the Bureau of fire, arson, and explosives investigations, and the Red Cross was called to assist at least 10 people affected by this fire.

Awesome video. Thanks and stay safe out there...🤗🤗
Thanks, you too!
The amount of grunge coming off during decon...my goodness.
That is exactly why we do it
Great job!!
Thank you!
God bless you,guys!♥️♥️♥️
Forever.
Thanks!
@@thejfrd2490 You're welcome!
Take care,please.♥️♥️♥️
I watch a lot of fire videos from all over the US. JFRD is the only one I've seen that 'washes down' their crews after a fire. I can understand a lot of reasons for doing that. I would like to know what the official reason JFRD has for doing this? Thanks and your videos are some of the best I watch.
That is a great question...
Firefighters are at very high risk for cancer...to lessen the exposure to carcinogens, we perform what we call "Gross Decon" which is the wash down that you see...this video demonstrates perfectly how effective it is as there are times where the gear changes color for the better...
Additionally, our firefighters have two sets of gear (major expense) so that after a fire, the crews can put their gear through a thorough wash as well...
Our city is very supportive of us in providing us with the best gear out there to do our jobs...but also the safety factors (like a second set of gear for 1800+ members) so we can remain as healthy as possible.
@@thejfrd2490This is a great video for promoting decon practice because it shows just how much material is covering the gear. Between that and clean cab designs where turnouts are stored separately, I'm sure it costs quite a bit. But preventable deaths can be a lot more expensive.
Agreed....crazy illustration isn't it?@@awv9600
Fantastic footage. You all did an outstanding job. It's a shame that the people lost their apartment due to the fire. Have a great day my friend, and stay safe ❤️🙂⚘️.
It is a shame...but others didn't due to a tremendous job by our crews...if that makes sense
@@thejfrd2490 Yes, they did an outstanding job in fighting that fire. I hope your having a great day 🙂⚘️.

Don't believe it was....
That looks similar to some apartments I stayed at in Arlington many years ago. My dumb neighbor fell asleep with a lit cigarette but in the trash, I stayed about 1.5 miles from Regency Mall back then. He got kicked out after what he did.
this is not arlington
REAL HEROS 😁🙏🇺🇸👍
Thanks
What apartment complex is this at? Sorry for those who lost everything in this fire.. it's really sad when this happens.. this is the reason I won't live in an apartment... To much of a risk of becoming homeless due to another apartment near yours catching on fire or being set on fire...
It was on Dean road on the southside
