see me and many other feel that same way with cops, sure most cops are legitimately decent folk but they willingly allow terrible people to be officers alongside them without doing anything to stop them, they'll protect us from anyone aside from their own and that is an unforgivable thing

all that said, it still is best to stay cordial because otherwise their ego or nerves might come out and you don't want to randomly be arrested or shot because the guy you're dealing with is wacked in the head
and don't get me started on how when I called the cops during a break in they basically let the guy go telling me it's a civil matter now while holding me at gunpoint and cuffing me because "I look like a potential threat"

What everyone forgets about rights is that they are not entitlements. Apparently cops, municipal or state police, do not have to give you a phone call. The things that officers do in the jails is more for courtesy and trying to keep tensions down. Not a constitutional right. You have a right to remain silent, freedom of speech, trial by peers, innocent till proven guilty but no phone call. Hannah's "right's" are nothing more than the entitlements of a snowflake. She merely got a slap on the wrist in the end compared to some other folks. If she would have cooperated I guarantee the consequences would have been even less.
