    I’ve just received mine. After reading many reviews I decided to order this tent. Look forward to using it. Great video! I saw in other video that the cross bar is going on top like in this video BUT the clips holding the cross ones NOT the long poles. Makes sense... Extra security againts strong wind. Try it guys.:)

    I used a North Face Tent for 10 years camping in the high desert. Az. And some kayaking in Southeast Ak.A little heavy but VERY rugged.

    One thing I’ve noticed about the StormBreak II is that it’s constantly evolving. The doors on my rain fly and the tent itself are totally different than yours. At first I didn’t understand what you meant about water getting inside when you open the rain fly, UNTIL I saw you setting yours up at the end of the video. Yeh, NorthFace totally changed the design of the doors compared to what you have. I wish I could add a pic of mine to show you the changes made since you bought yours. The tent doors now store inside the corner pockets when open. The doors on the fly now have 2 zippers and neither go across the top like yours.

    There are various things folks could nitpick about the setup, but I'd just stick to making sure the footprint doesn't go too far out from under the tent/fly. Any part of it that could be exposed to rain will then tent to catch that rain and funnel it under your floor.

    North Face makes great quality equipment. I have a parka that I purchased over 30 years ago and it is still going strong. Good review. However, 5lbs is a bit heavy for a backpacking tent these days.

      For the price it's not bad. Less than half the price of some of the high end lightweight setups.

    Great video! But I’m thinking that on a 70 degree day it might be too hot. I didn’t see any vents on the rain fly. Have you been in it when it’s warm with the fly on?

    How long will it last, bought a branded tent, had it for 10yrs, useually use it 2-3x a year, the first 3-4yrs were ok then i noticed some flake drops
    In the tent when i used it, then it appeared again , 2days ago i went camping on a rainy day and i noticed some dripping inside even with the rainfly on, then only did i realized that those flakes were actually the waterproofing layers of the tent, so my concern is, is the price good as an investment if i wud be expecting d same condition after certain number of years?

      Noah Arita There is one trick that a lot of backpackers use .you can stuff the tent inside your backpack with the tent poles on the outside of your backpack . Or I’m pretty sure you can take the whole tent and strap it to your backpack not sure how that would work✊🏻

    • @DanShowandTell
      @DanShowandTell Před 4 lety +2

      I used mine about 2-3 weeks this year, some of the days camping above 10k feet...
      I'd recommend a good pad and bag over a 4 season tent, the only reason this isn't a 4 season tent is that it isn't sealed completely from the elements. The rainfly deflects wind sooooo good, last year in april I was camping in Badlands NP, one day was a constant 20-40mph winds, most of the camp had their tent blown in or away but mine stood strong. It also insulates pretty good as when I camped in the outskirts of Glacier NP it got down to about 20F, the rainfly formed an ice shell on it when my condensation outside froze insulating me further, I woke up pretty toasty in my bag, but as soon as the rainfly opened a burst of steam came out and the cold set in quick.

    Hey brother, I have a SB2 tent and an online shop is selling the SB1 and SB3 Footprint super cheap. Is it better for me to pickup the SB3 Footprint or will it be too much bulk. Is the SB1 a better size or will it not cover enough ground. (I am new to this camping world)

    • @OutdoorJunkeez
      @OutdoorJunkeez  Před 4 lety +1

      eldahab For a footprint you need the dimensions of the tent to be perfect otherwise water can leak in and get the bottom of your tent can get wet you can also make your own footprint as well the important thing is not to have the footprint too big✊🏻
