I am only 13 and i am using your videos to learn how to budget my own money and use those skills for when I’m older. Love your videos
You go girl.. That is EXTREMELY intelligent and it will put you ahead of the game in life if you get these things nailed down now, while ur young.. But I think you already know that 😉😊👍👍
Do not go into debt on student loans. Worst mistake of my life.
Keep it up! I wish I had discovered her at 13!
That’s awesome I am so proud of you! Save save save!
Well
Done kiddo! Smart to get started early!
Jordan, this is a tip for storing ground beef when dividing up the "family" pack. After you put a portion in a freezer baggie, flatten it out! It thaws very quickly and takes up less space in the freezer. I often wait til the last minute to decide what I want for dinner; these flattened patties fit flat in the frying pan and thaw very quickly!
Thanks for the tip 😄
This is genius. So simple yet something no one thinks of!
I‘ve been doing it forever, also works for any other meat. So much faster and neater!
That's absolutely genius and definitely took a screen shot to remember this!! Thank you!!! 🤗
Hey Jordan can you make a video talking about how you filter what yours kids watch and why? Games, tv, books, etc?? PLEASE and thanks
Yes please!
I dont underatand how you stretch so thin and remember everything you need and what kids need and your husband. Blessed with energy and patience
More like organization and effort 🙂
It’s not easy, I can tell you that for sure and I only have 5 kids. I had to take a day off today because I woke up so exhausted it made me physically sick 🤢. It’s incredible how she does this with so much grace AND she has twin infants 😯.
That water-in-the-jar-to-get-the-last-bits hack - so true! I actually put the lid back on, shake it like a madman and try to get a bit more product out! Also, in some dishes, you can use milk (or alternative milk) instead of water - useful if you have a creamy sauce recipe. Thanks for sharing your pantry cooking IRL!
Yeah i use milk with alfredo sauce jars
My mom taught me this, but put the lid on, turn it upside down and while you cook the rest falls to the bottom. Open and dump, repeat
my grandmother and mom did this as well.
If I'm at the bottom of a mustard, ketchup, or mayo bottle I'll add a splash of vinegar and shake it up to get the last bits out.
I was explaining shelf cooking to my husband today and told him I wanted Jordan’s cookbook when it comes out (I never buy cookbooks). And he said “I did that for years as a single dad- we called it trailer cooking” 🤣
Growing up in 3rd world country, using up what you have before shopping is just the normal thing to do, people shop daily or weekly at last, that doesn't mean food isn't available, it is, its just that we buy fresh food and storing tons of it didnt make any sense. Also, the pantry only had staples for making bread, like a big jar of oil, big containers of flour, and no doubles. We dont buy more until it's almost done. So i was shocked when i saw American pantries, i kinda fell in the wagon as well 😂
emilee yes! But I do think some (probably alot) need to be told this. People who live in excess and can afford to go out multiple times to the grocery and waste food.
emilee she says she didn’t come up with it- she just gave it the name Shelfcooking
She never once said she came up with it 😂
Us poor folk call that everyday life. We've been 'Shelf cooking' as a necessity
I had been my entire life self cooking 😂
It's true, but guess what. A little extra money and we forget everything grandma and mom taught us. I grew up poor and know how to do this 'when I have to,' but man, to do this on the regular now helps our budget so much.
It’s been a way of life for generations in my family. My grandmother was the oldest of 12 kids and grew up in a small farming town. She had 7 kids of her own and they lived off of a carpenter’s income. She lived through the Great Depression so her frugality stayed all through life. Her tips and tricks passed to her own kids and on to my generation. Any other way just seems so wasteful.
Pink salad! This phenomenon appears at every 4th of July at our family bbq. We grew up calling it “pink salad”. Eventually we learned it’s called ambrosias.
When did shelf cooking get a name. Lol. It’s normal everyday. Great video though. Always fun to watch her multitask.
I have been binge-watching your videos on CZcams while I am sick, like almost all of them. I really like that you are fun to watch and have some great tips and that you show your real life, instead of a fake show. What am I going to do now? Clean my house, ummm what? Thank you for showing your grocery spending, I am super impressed. I always love tips on money.
Look up Millennial Mom - Jordan Page for even more gold content from a few years back
I love when videos are uploaded while my twins nap! It’s my mom time! Plus I’ve saved a crazy amount of money doing what Jordan recommends!
Yay for nap time!
Just wanted to say do NOT let anyone ever get you down with comments or anything else! You are amazing and have created a great life for you and your family, and you should never have to apologise for that! I've seen some things that disturb me, people are ridiculous; KEEP ROCKIN GIRL!!!
Love, Love, Love the energy and recipe info.
Shelf cooking has turned me into a pretty good cook!!! I used to hate cooking before!!
I tell my Hubby that it basically is cooking what you've already bought and SAID you were going to cook! Just put them all together and don't buy from the store new stuff, until I've cooked and used up all the rest. NOW, I enjoy cooking and seeing what new creative dishes I can come up with! Loving the AllRecipes.com you shared in a previous video.
I can’t imagine having to cook for 10 people at every meal! You are a rockstar, Jordan!! My two children have very opposite food allergies so I am typically preparing three meals at each meal time! Cooking is actually a full time job!
Always love your meal inspiration! We work hard to not waste any food, and that definitely takes being creative! Thanks for the ideas 😊
I've been cooking this way my entire life. Apparently now it has a name 🤷♀️
I love you! You are a life saver, even for a family of 2 with just my hubby and I, I really love your videos and your tips about making ahead meals and freezing them and what other Items in your fridge can be saved, because I buy the larger size of Items because it is cheaper per ounce so having ways to save it, if we don’t use it as fast is amazing!!! Thank you!!!
Omg I do shelf cooking all the time! Hate throwing away any food that's useable ! Great video u give me inspiration with me being a young mom of two babies! 😌❤
I love that I can hear your kids in the background! Thank you for sharing!
I recently took inventory of my freezer because I honestly didn't know what the heck was in there and now that I know what's in there, I'm doing my best to actually cook with what I have on hand. It's kinda crazy how I was just refilling my stock of food every week and not going through my overflowing freezer. Thank you!
Beautiful Family!!! And you're the SUPER MAMA!❤️❤️
Your grocery and meal prep videos always make me so happy!!! ❤️
Love shelf cooking so far! Thanks for all the wonderful information all the time! You are the best❤️
Thank you for your food and budget videos. I am 24 and been using your tips for a long time and they have helped me so much to stay on budget and still have good food at home.
Love all your videos. Your an inspiration to me in how I wan to live my life. Thank you for being a blessing. I’m wanting to cook more because of your videos. 🙂
Jordan, you are soooo awesome! Please do more of these cooking videos!
I love your shelf cooking! Ever since I started I have saved so much on groceries! Keep being awesome!
Watching one of your earlier vids encouraged me to start using what I have on hand and doubling the recipe so I'd have an extra meal to freeze. Now every other week or so I have a cook day where cook a few recipes, vacuum seal and toss in the freezer. I have enough handy now that all I do is take out different things to make meals for the day and pop in the microwave as needed. Hey, and I save pasta sauce, salsa or any type of jars. I cut up cucumbers, red and white onions and tomatoes, fill the jars with them, then make a batch of vinegar, salt, water, a bit of sugar and other seasonings that I like. Each person can make the brine as per their liking. I heat this brew on the stove and then poor in the jars and seal. The longer it sits the better it tastes! This is good to have on hand for quick salad making. All you have to do is pop the lid on a jar ( the warm brine seals the jars so they are shelf stable. I keep mine in the fridge as I like it cold) and add the pickled veggies to a bed of lettuce. I promise you you'll love it!
Thanks Jordan it’s always a pleaser to watch your videos ! Ps you may love the thermomix that is Sooooo helpful ! 😻🤝
I have the chopper you used for the onion and bell peppers and love it. Really speeds up meal prep.
Love this! I get so much from you. You are absolutely amazing and I appreciate you so much.
Our favorite fruit salad sauce is really easy you just leave frozen strawberries in a container large enough to add the rest of your fruit salad into we like adding halved grapes and fresh berries. When the strawberries thaw they create a really nice sauce that we just toss all the other fruit with.
I really appreciate that you use the same brands that I use/are easily available. This looks delicious! Will definitely try it out.
This looks so good and I can make it Gluten free for my Celiac kiddo!!!! Thanks Jordan 😁❤️
I love these videos and I was actually dieing for your fruit salad recipe so thank you so so much.🥰🥰🥰
hahaha the whole time McEwan has so much to say until you tell him to say hi. I love it!
You inspire me to be a better wife and mama 🖤 thanks for all you do
I love watching your Videos, and I love cooking or baking. Your family is so sweet. Have a great weekend.
I made Tamale pie this week too! I make cornbread for my topping because my family like it better. I usually double the recipe but instead of putting it in a pan I for it to be ready to go I freeze the filling then pull it out when I am ready for it but I like your idea better, a meal all ready to go.
I have been making bread for years, saw your video on your bread.. tried it and I have made 4 loaves now! You mentioned the dough was super sticky and it is!! I have never worked with dough light that BUT, it's super easy and just as delish as the ones I make..! I will be keeping that recipe!
I’ve done shelf cooking since I lived in my own since age of 18 - it’s the most fun way of cooking
Jordan, it brings me great joy when I see your videos!
Aww so glad you like them, Nancy! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Definitely more of these videos! You show us a lot about meal planning and buying groceries, but it would be really good to see a “what we eat in a week” kind of thing to really see how you implement your techniques. Of course, now it’s Shelftember, you could show us a week of shelf cooking meals which would probably give us meal inspo too! Your content is amazing as always!
I’m a big fan of silicon spatulas as they come in all sizes for pots n bottles to get ‘that last drop’!! Makes washing easier too. Love your page Mrs page! Lol
You basically helped me become a grown up/woman that I’m proud of, Jordan. Thank you.
I love your spontaneity, and give me positive energy🇸🇦♥️

Wow, thank you so much for doing this shelve cooking, since monday I've been holding tight to my $40 that are on my wallet, by not going out and eating out, now its friday and we are still able to survive with what we have lol, lets try to go for a second week of not spending a dime. We've been out of whipped cream and kids have been bugging to go get some more, I say nope cuz we will end up filling up a cart with just random stuff lol.
I'm excited to try this recipe. I have all the ingredients and I can easily make it gluten and dairy free!! This rarely happens with recipe videos.
Ok, as a British person, I am SO CONFUSED by the “fruit salad”. Why is there cheese and jelly in there?!? Please tell me I’m not the only one 😂
Hahaha i live in America, but im from Morocco! I just found out abt this "salad" few days ago and it was hilarious to me 😂 it s something from the 50's, and some even put marshmallows in it haha
Yes very confused 😂 our fruit salad is just cut up fruit with some fruit juice!
This looks very interesting:p
Marshmallows?!? Glad I’m not alone in my confusion 😂 our fruit salad is literally a bowl of chopped up fruit. Maybe some juice on it, if you feel fancy!
Haha same here
I’m also British and that “salad” blew my mind !!
Yay! Was waiting for your post.
So glad you're excited about this one!
This looks fantastic and even works for my very limited diet!
Thanks for sharing!!
Please keep the cooking videos coming!!!

What brad is the skillet. I need something big and non stick
I use a tfal 5 qt one like this (I haven't put mine in the oven or the dishwasher):
