I watched this on my laptop and now the dang thing is on fire!!! Holy smokes!!! What a performance!!! Those guys are the freakin' BOMB! How they had never come across my path before now is one of the great mysteries of the Universe! So thank you for that!
More Mavericks please. All Night Long, I Should Have Been True, and Here Comes the Rain are a few of their many hits. There’s no other band that blends Country and Cuban rhythms as well as they do and Raul Malo’s vocals are top notch. He’s a true crooner!
OMG one of my favorite bands. I even have that album. I was living in Miami when they were HUGE! I love everything they do. Raul can still sing as before. What a great voice.
A fantastic performance! Love the Mavericks. And Raul Malo has some wonderful solo stuff too.. I'd recommend his cover of "You're Only Lonely", originally a J.D. Souther song.
The Mavericks were always one of my favorite groups. Raul Malo has one of the best voices around. They have so many great hits. I discovered them at a Reba concert if all place, in 1997 I think, and they weren't even there lol! They had The Mavericks music playing prior to the concert on a loop nothing but the Mavericks and I have loved them ever since! This performance was outstanding!! What a show! Great reaction!!
I told them last year on my birthday January 16th at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater Florida. They're coming again this year on January 13th I can't wait they are phenomenal great show
Oh, my. That’s my idea of entertainment. Who’s having more fun, the band or the crowd? The mixture of country, rock, and Mariachi make for a perfect recipe. I wish vocal performances like this and this level of musicianship were the rule rather than the exception these days. Of course, not every band has a Raul Malo. Raul might be the most underrated singer in modern music history. He has a five-octave range and his voice is as pure as Pavarotti’s. PJ, if you haven’t already, check out some of Raul’s solo work. There’s a ton of it on CZcams. I highly recommend his cover of Etta James’s great classic “At Last”.
Always like their sound. ENERGIZED! Could never peg them to one genre, just good music. And Raul Malo's voice! He had some great solos such as When You're Only Lonely and Dream River.
Wow. That was the definition if a "high energy" performance. Had no idea they'd even gotten back together. But, now I'm upset because I see they'll be in town on their current tour, when I won't be. What a great sound!
How did I miss these guys. Must have been through school or working years. I’ve been to all the big rodeos but never caught them. Thank you. Good times.
PJ, Selena is a must in Tejano. But! May I suggest, her last performance at the Houston Rodeo - performing the Disco Medley - is breathtaking and showcases what an amazing talent she was. How hard she danced and still sang “Live”. A truly gifted Artist…a treasure.
And, one I didn't know today. Thank you, thank you for the introduction. And anyone not dancing through the house listening to that has no soul (Ok, the cat is POed at me for picking her up and dancing with her, but cats don''t dance)! Love it!
I can't believed I missed this reaction from you when first posted. And Nobody reacts to the Mavericks. To quote one of their songs, "Oh, What a Crying Shame"! Thank you so much for your reaction. Loved watching you get into it. I've been listening to the Mavericks since they first came out in the 90's. They just keep getting better. And as much as I love them as a group, Raul Malo has one of the best, yet underrated voices of all time. There are a lot of videos of him singing solo....classics from other artists whom he admires ("Crying" by Roy Orbison, "True Love Ways" by Buddy Holly, etc.). Check him out sometime...even if it's just on your own.
What a great treat today! I love Raul Malo. He is one of the greatest artists in music period. Check out his solo works. What a wonderful pick and reaction P.J!! Cool....
“Crying Shame” will forever be my favorite. Mavericks just…disappeared. Never knew why. They were so hot on Country radio. Never could track the facts of what actually happened to the original “trio”. My last year on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo commission, Mavericks were invited for the next year. They politely declined, then disappeared.
Glad you're back p.j. love this song, brings me back to my youth, lol. They look like they're having SO much fun, YOU TOO for that matter, lol! Stay safe and keep up the good work brother.
One of the most underrated bands in the music industry. This is live! Amazing!
Their shows being people UP..they are amazing !!!
Excellent musicians and entertainers!! ❤❤
You can't help but have a good time listening to the Mavericks. They are such a talented group!
Music?? Did someone say MUSIC? That's how you close a show! Love it.
I love this band since the early 90’s.
And they still got it!
Attending a Mavericks concert is a sublime experience. If you have an opportunity to see them in concert, a great time is guaranteed!
I saw them in November in Washington DC. Wow, just Wow!
Saw them in London, U.K. Absolutely fantastic! 🥳🤠❤
one of my favorites back in the 90's
Love The Mavericks
Long been favorite band of mine. Love his voice. Saw them live in small theater in Santa Fe and it was great.
Love it! The Mavericks bring together so many different sounds and genres of music just in one song.
And don't think I didn't notice the Floyd shirt. ;)
Such under rated talent! Raul Malo is absolutely amazing!
I saw them in concert for the first time in November. They blew the house down.
Here comes the rain is my favorite song of theirs.
Raul Malos voice is just beautiful.
I watched this on my laptop and now the dang thing is on fire!!! Holy smokes!!! What a performance!!! Those guys are the freakin' BOMB! How they had never come across my path before now is one of the great mysteries of the Universe! So thank you for that!
@Code9
Glad you enjoyed it, they are the bomb!
Love the Mavericks!
Raul Mallo is sensational!
More Mavericks please. All Night Long, I Should Have Been True, and Here Comes the Rain are a few of their many hits. There’s no other band that blends Country and Cuban rhythms as well as they do and Raul Malo’s vocals are top notch. He’s a true crooner!

Absolutely brilliant
You can't help but smile when you hear this kind of music...Just makes your day...Thanks so much!!!

Mary Chapin Carpenter "Down At The Twist And Shout" Its hurricane party music!
Always like their sound. ENERGIZED! Could never peg them to one genre, just good music. And Raul Malo's voice! He had some great solos such as When You're Only Lonely and Dream River.
He does the BEST Roy Orbison cover you have ever heard.

Saw them for the first time last week! It was so much fun!🎉

@Texas Magnolia
Selena is in the cue Tex.
Who could not like this foot-stomping music where the singing was great and all the band members got a chance to shine? Totally enjoyed The Mavericks!
Tahle píseň je tak nakažlivá zeji pouštím několikrát za den protože má nádhernou melodiji ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Opravdu moc krásné.
So awesome!! Thanks DjPj!!!!

See them in New Braunfels! On KBNT all the time! 92.1
Love them! Y'all have a California group called The Hacienda Brothers that my husband and I love. We flew out to Long Beach just to see them!
I love the way you present the music and your self. Of course it helps that you review some of my favorite music. 👍
@William Schaffer

The only thing one can say to that, is "more please"
