Shimano Ultegra rear derailleur cable replacement on a 2021 Giant TCR

  • Cable routing through the ST-R8000 shifter, bike frame and RD-R8000 short cage derailleur shown and explained.
    Similar shifter models are DURA-ACE ST-R9100, BR-R9100, BR-R9110, ULTEGRA BR-R8000, BR-R8010, 105 ST-R7000, BR-R7000, BR-R7010.
    Symptoms of cable failure are gradual, include chain not changing gears on chain rings when shifter is operated, derailleur not moving at all when shifter is operated. Braking is totally unaffected.
    Similar rear derailleur models are DURA-ACE RD-R9100, 105 RD-R7000.

    Thank you for this video, and for the patience and detail you went through filming this process!
    I'm a relatively new rider with the same bike and component combo, and need to bring it back into shape after 2½ years of riding it and putting off the day I'd need to maintain it.

    i have the same TCR frame with 105 r7000, wanting to upgrade to di2, do you thinks it's possible to route the hydraulic hose and electronic cable if i have those magnetic internal cable routing kit without the need to remove the pressfit bottom bracket? do you know how the hydraulic hose is routed in the frame, it goes over or under the bottom bracket? thanks

      Never looked which way the brake line goes, wires for di2 have plenty space around BB
