In this video titled EU4 Releasables - THIS Is The Nation I WAS TERRIFIED To Play I do a playthrough as Nizhny Novgorod after releasing it from Muscovy and I try to become a great power in Europa Universalis 4 1.35 Domination. This is the series titled Releasables where I attempt to play every releasable nation in EU4 or Europa Universalis 4. In this video I play as the nation of Nizhny Novgorod in EU4. FINALLY it’s been ages, I was waiting for this. I’m from a small city near Modena and I would like to make a suggestion for the next challenge: try to convert every Italian culture to Romagnol or try to make the romagnol culture the predominant in the HRE. Recently our region got hurt really bad from floods. @@viniciusyugulis7278 there is a reason why Bologna is called “La rossa” ( the red one ) since the birth of Italian republic it’s the only region that had ALWAYS a left vast majority of voters. Honestly I’m not a big fan of our right or the left ( I’m kinda libertarian centre ) however it always amazed me how Emilia-Romagna is, was, and probably will ever be “Red”

Terveh, from South Karelia. If you have a moment, can you add a bit of context? The name of the city Nizhny Novgorod can be approximately interpreted as lower new city, right? What is meant by lower then? Is it like an altitude for Lowlands or something else?

@@Designer-Speech7143 There are 3 versions: first is that Nizhniy is lower than Velikiy Novgorod (Novgorod the Great), but usually words Verhniy/Nizhniy (Upper/Lower) were added to city name only when they were placed on the same river. And Novgorod the Great is placed on Volkhov River
Second version, name "Nizhniy" also can be related with settlement of this territory. Actually, first city here was Gorodets, and Nizhniy Novgorod was founded 30 years later. So, Nizhniy Novgorod is a "New City Lower [than Gorodets]". Both cities are located on Volga River
And third version. Nizhniy Novgorod is New City located in "Nizovskaya Zemlya" (it means Lower Territory), but in this case it most likely should have been known as "Nizovskiy Novgorod"
So, second version is the most popular and the most likely to be true, but before the Revolutuon city was officially named "Novgorod Nizovskaya Zemli" and that gives points to the third version.

Didn't know that there was a rule to name according to the position according to the river flow or that it was named so not because of it's position to another Novgorod, but the other city in the region on the same river. EU4 community continues to improve my library of random historical facts.

I just realized that Nizhny Novgorod literally means "Lower Novgorod" or "New city of the lower lands".
Yeah, dude, we have two novgorods in Russia. Basically there are many towns with names starts with nov-

@@Saberu_o_oppai_de_momu Although it means exactly this, lowlands does not mean the relative height of the land. Nizhny Novgorod is actually higher in altitude than Veliky Novgorod. Nizhny in geographical names usually means downstream (Russia is pretty flat). But Nizhny Novgorod and Veliky Novgorod are located on different rivers. So Nizhny in the name of Nizhny Novgorod means the lands downstream on the trade route.

I'm trying to get the achievment for the Inca's, but i keep getting my ass beaten by spain, despite my best effort and suggestions from other players.
Hey man, I know what you mean, I had some troubles with the achievement too when I started. A trick I have for you is to just let Spain beat you. You can wait a bit until they land, and then you just give them the provinces they want. Make sure to not surrender unconditionally, give them the worst provinces in a specific colonial area. After they cored the provinces up, the colonial nation that forms has zero manpower and money and you have no truce with them. You can just take the provinces back.
It's annoying but Spain isn't an obstacle, just a speed bump. They attack you, you give them provinces, colonial nation forms, you retake your land and then you have some time to conquer and colonise before the truce with Spain ends. Losing these wars has no impact or importance, they are meaningless. Just don't let Spain devastate your country.

The main problem with this, is that Spain, won't accept surrender before they have sieged down a lot of provinces. Since they call in Portugal, they always get to my capital and siege it down in mere months, despite me having the defensive edict and armies to contest the siege at the ready. Once they take the capital, you get the event where your king dies, you lose stab and 40k rebels spawn at random in the country ;(
But I will try again, and use your advice :)
The government mechanics for the Russian have changed a little. You no longer get streltsy for free, you need to recruit them from the unit recruitment screen.
