  • In this video I test & review the new Pro Series 2X Tele lens from Beastgrip shooting with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and FiLMiC Pro LogV3.
    Note: Beastgrip states this lens is designed to work with iPhones only and NOT Androids. ALSO, this lens works on the iPhone 12 and earlier. For iPhone 13 or later do not get this one.

    I was curious about this for an 85mm equivalent on my iPhone se 2020, I love the dynamic range but I'd love to take closer portraits since the portrait mode is only 1 camera looks amazing!

    How do you like moment lenses compared to the Beastgrip Pro lenses?

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Před 2 lety +1

      They are both very good, though I tend to use the Moment more because of their simplicity mounting on their cases. Optics quality I would say they’re very similar. So it really depends on what type of shooting you’re going to do and the ecosystem you want to invest in. For run and gun I would go with Moment, for more serious setups using the Beastgrip Pro or Beastcage then Beastgrip are a great way to go.

      Hoping to get one to check it out, but, their 1.33X anamorphic MK2 is excellent and so hopefully it’ll be similar quality. This one no longer works properly with the larger sensor phones.

      Cool kit! I tend to use Portabrace bags or Think Tank too. I’ve been meaning to make a video about bags as that’s a good question. Search those two brands and you’ll find something good, but they’re not cheap. A good bag will last a long time though.

    Hey dude, nice video. Not a fan of the Beastgrip stuff. But, I do have a question and hope you can do a video on the latest Filmic Pro as it seems to be having some audio issues. I shoot on iPhone 11 and since the update, the audio quality really dropped.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Před 3 lety

      Quality as in the actual sound or in the functionality of the audio controls?

    • @ruthun
      @ruthun Před 3 lety

      @@iphoneographers The actual sound. I used to be able to set automatic gain correction when I plugged in my Boya wireless transmitter, which really helped with audio peaking. But now, when I plug in the Boya, or even a wired lav, the automatic gain correction blanks off I you know what I mean, can't turn it on. The voice processing function also can't be turned on. So weird, and it only started doing this recently after they moved the audio control over to the right with that slider for gain.

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Před 3 lety +1

      Interesting. I haven’t noticed any issues but also haven’t used auto gain recently as I turn that off and set it manually. I’ll look into it though.

    • @iphoneographers

    Hi. I’ve been trying to use the 3X tele from Beastgrip with an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Terrible results so far, footage is unusable. I dont know if its because I am using the Beastgrip Pro instead of the Beastcage… any advice?

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately very few lenses work well on the 3x Tele. And as a matter of fact many don’t work well on the standard camera/lens on the 13 Pro Max. I did a video about a few lenses here… czcams.com/video/BRlHTxOMVBE/video.html
      I’m not sure if lens manufacturers will make a lens for the new phone or wait and see what happens on the 14 because my suspicion is Apple is going to change it again. So it’s really a wait-and-see. For now I just mainly don’t use the 3x except for family kind of videos or photos.
