@@johnn7350nrl is making way more money than it ever has thanks to sports betting lol players need to look after their own interests 1st because clubs have no loyalty so why should players

Its seems like players can move and choose freely what they want and how much they want without repaying clubs their effort and investment in them. This will only allow for players to find themselves playing for top teams.

Nope it’s a sign that 5-10 player managers is an unacceptable blight on the game. The broncos fell apart when they allowed half the team to be managed by 1 guy, who promptly used the stars as leverage to get garbage players a spot and then used the fact that half the squad was with him to demand more money and weird clauses for players. Which was just a way for the player manager to continue to extort the club for more.

Footy is a business. The moment a player thinks the club bosses are his mates is when he's screwed. Look after yourself and give yourself some insurance. Clubs screw over players all the time.

Certain players can be synonymous with greatness and a club. Can they transcend a club? Perhaps, they have to be outstanding Sterling and Price, Smith, Slater and Cronk. Some players have a sense of entitlement and its a generational thing. Players from previous eras knew they had to work hard.

Schuster was entitled to every dollar
It’s a contract the money MUST be paid- it’s okay to see he’s out of form
    But he’s won 25 an lost 25 - that’s a 50 percent win rate + he’s played tests

    “Who signs off on this?”
An NRL contract requires 4 Signatures.
    1 is the player
    1 is the Club
The other 2 are witnesses from both parties.

In reality, the players are mostly the same talent and size across the board, it's on the coaches to improve the team and most coaches are rubbish and don't produce consistent results

Sounds like player manages holding clubs to ransom, I’m an afl fan but I can’t wrap my head around you can put all this time into young talent let them flourish and lose them for donuts.

Smith only signed with the roosters if played hooker, so the top sides also have clauses. It's getting like soccer, players bigger than coaches and club's.

Andrew Johns sounds like a union-busting factory owner here - amendments in contracts favouring players are wrong, but those favouring the club are right.

I like it,it makes the market more competitive where clubs that are going badly for years actually have a chance of gaining and retaining really good players.Imagine you are a player and you wouldnt blame them for not wanting to be stuck somewhere they will get smashed every week

    Turuva is to small
He will come to St George for 5 games and straight into reserves
He’s not better then the feagai boys
    Schuster ain’t going anywhere , manly owe him cash 💰, he’s got 25 wins and 25 losses that’s a 50 % win rate ?..

  • @Longarmshortarm

Excess?? It represents the market. If you don’t want to allow clauses, don’t sign them. Excess doesn’t exist.

Once big business gets involved in sport then sport will be finished. The fans help make sport good with the sports contestants. Once the business partners are getting investments more money is wanted greed steps in. Look at the masters i great fan tournament but know year on year they are losing fans. The following of golf with the camera has got worse and worse for TV . For the first time i turned it off and haven't watched it. 40 years ago bbc could follow the ball threw the air land and coming to a stop, now it gets lost you don't see it land and worse thing of all you cannot see the hole. Now look at professional rugby they changed to one company not on TV bbc anymore i haven't watched a single game since the change. I have noticed that people have moved down a couple of notches to footballers who don't make the grade people are beginning to watch them not in big numbers but non the less there is a movement. Ladies football will pick up and fall quicker because the fans know they are not getting value for money. I have suggested to lady golfers when you hold a tournament in a town that the girls playing should arrive a day earlier to go to local schools and hospitals that would improve the amount of fans. Kids seeing these players dressed up with there nails done and make up on jeezy peeps i am sure that would increase fans over the years. I have caddied for the girls in the british open so i am well aware of the pull they would have.
