The Big Dish delivers steam up to 600°C and 160 bar pressure, depending on the application - district heating/cooling, industrial process heat, or power. With its superb optics, the dish can generate heat up to 21000°C at its focus, assuring its future application to thermochemistry and materials processing - hydrogen, ammonia, syngas production, and sintering of metals, and ceramics.
Sunrise CSP is now commissioning the first of a three-stage tri-generation solution for the Kai/ash Cancer Hospital, Gujarat - India's top cancer radiotherapy hospital, rated #5 for radiotherapy globally. Under a Steam & Power Purchase Agreement, this solution will deliver the steam and electricity needed for air-conditioning, cooking, laundry, and sterilisation saving 10% in the hospital's cost of energy for these services

More than 120 years ago, Manuel Antonio Gomes used only part of the dish and was able to generate a temperature of 3700°C with it. The same temperature can also be achieved with a much smaller ring array concentrator.
