    A reflective parabolic dish is one of the cheapest ways to concentrate solar power and put it to great use. This method is widely used in many applications.
    The video demonstartion is only to show you how powerful the setup is, and it produces insane amount of heat. This heat can be utilized to achieve so many things.
    Disclaimer:
    The solar reflective dish can cause serious burns if not handled with care.

    The concept was inspired by Dan Rohas from Green Power science.

    Number 3, would work extremely well. If you get 800C you just need to engineer it correctly and find a battery. But since this is about experimentation look into building a liquid battery using sodium.

    I read in your comments that you've dismantled the dish, and also recommended copper coils. I finally obtained for myself a 6 ft satellite dish, but, the dish is made of a somewhat fine metal mesh material, and I'm not sure how I'm going to go about making it so the surface is smooth for applying aluminum or mylar. I would assume that I'd want to minimize the diffusing of the rays to be as little as possible. Also, thinking about how a combination of using the dish to collect the rays and distribute them to a smaller area of copper can save on the need for a lot of copper while still harvesting the same amount of solar thermal energy. Either way, this reminds me of when I learned about how they were planning to use parabolic solar collectors to pump water from the Nile river to arid parts of the land to make it more suited for agriculture. This was in the early 1900s, I believe, before fossil fuels became much more readily available.

    Thanks for your reply! Can you just do an test with 10L of water (for bathing). And raise it to like 45 degrees Celsius from ambient. Plz note time for the same. I wish to build one but with 2 small dishes

    • @VIDEOEPPO
      @VIDEOEPPO  Před 3 lety +1

      I have already dismantled this unit. Actually there is no place to keep it as the house owner is objecting. But raising the temperature of water to 45 deg Celsius wouldn't be a problem even for a small dish. Actually, for that kind of temperature you can simply use copper coils and paint them in black and let water flow through it. make sure its exposed to bright sunlight and it should be good enough.
      The copper coils can be easily found in shops where you find Air-conditioner spares

  • @FRESNEL_COOKING_SOLAR_OVENS24

    The only way to use this for cooking and baking is to stack a pizza firebox designed for gas stove. You just need to place a black brick plate and a ceramic glass to trap the heat inside. This is how you can cook bread, pizza and meats inside a solar pizza oven 12 inch.
