- A wonderful campground tucked between Gainesville and Flagler Beach.
The Florida Trail is accessed through this park so walk a portion of this magnificent trail with us. Learn a bit about the debacle that was the Cross Florida Barge Canal constructed by the Army Corp of Engineers.
Really enjoyed your video. Thanks!
Thank you so very much. That was a great campsite. Fred still talks about that one and wants to go back. Thanks again!
I camped there on my Florida Trail hike and after that couple of times. I liked it, it's a nice peaceful campground. I read that U.S. president stopped the cross Florida canal construction with an executive order because of environmental concerns. All the best to your travels 🙂
Oh My! Those Pumpkin rooks look amazing.
Awww! We have a beagle too, Louie! We have site 67 reserved for Oct. Looking forward to it. Thank you for the video!
Absolutely! Enjoy! Beagles are the sweetest dogs! Thank you so much for commenting!!
I think that may have been a Pigmy rattlesnake, good thing you left it alone :)
I think it was too. Those little guys are scary! Small and hard to see! Thanks for commenting!!!
Lovely. Looking forward to some R&R there.
It’s a great spot! Enjoy. Thanks for commenting!

Thank you. You have a good channel. I just subscribed.
Thanks for the video! We have site 68 booked (for may of 2022, lol).
Wonderful! It really was a nice campground. We will very likely go back there!
Thats my spot for this Spring Break with my kids! Can't wait!
Dad has tourney fished Lake Palakta. They launched at the locks. P.S. Dad said that was a baby rattler you
encountered.
Wonderful, as well as relaxing, camping video! Beautiful & peaceful campground and hiking trails, too; and I love the unique history & waterway. That snake looks like a pygmy rattlesnake, which are very poisonous. Good to know they are there so they can be looked out for. Gators are.also common there, so definitely no swimming (and that includes the dogs). And btw, and I’m sure you’ve heard this before, do you realize that you’re married to “Johnny Cash?!” I couldn’t help but see (& hear) so many similarities!
He is now singing Johnny Cash songs around the house after reading your comment. Thank you so very much for the kind words. You made our day!
@@ElisaExplores So funny! You guys made my day as well! Happy trails!
It wasn’t a total debacle it helped us get through some hard times and many people benefited from the work that it provided
Thanks for sharing! I subscribed to see future adventures and checkout your past trips! 👍

@@ElisaExplores I noticed that to.. seems we’ve been to several of the same places!! 👍
Your dogs are so cute! Your Afghan is looking good. I have made many and now I’m into quiltslove that live oak tree at the plantation. Cant you just imagine the social life on that huge porch?
Wonderful! Thanks for watching and commenting!
