There were no fires allowed in Spring '23. That's why I camped on top of Cedar Mesa (Muley Point). I found Monument Valley to be somewhat disappointing. Traffic, traffic cones, commercialization. Memorial weekend VOTG was essentially empty. On my few 17 mile trips through there I didn't encounter more than 3 vehicles on the road. Worth every penny that you won't be spending on camping fees!

See that white in the road at the entrance? Looks kind of salty because it is. I had to taste it just to satisfy my curiosity. If you get the chance, take the trip!! No crowds, no litter, free camping, ultimate stargazing, clean air, and spectacular views (particularly up on top at Muley Point), deep blue skies. Too bad it's 1200 miles from where I live😕

Always wanted to do a New England/Canada cruise! The ship you’re on looks HUGE! Portland is a fav city of ours to visit- we took a sailing tour in Casco Bay when we were there this fall and LOVED it! -Candice, Andrew, & Riley 🐾

Can you imagine the Pilgrims traveling from England to America on a ship powered by sails? No wind and they sat at sea, not moving, for hours on end. Glad you got to travel on a sailing ship with a motor.

Beautiful place to camp. Never been there. Nice solar set up. We have a small Jackery with 240 watts of solar. I built a home 1000 watt solar set up with 2 Battleborn lithium batteries and 5000 watt inverter. We also have a generator. These will be our back up power sources if we lose power in a hurricane or storm.

Love Mt. Dora. Our friend had an antique shop & brewery called Mermaid Juice, but had to close it during the pandemic. It was on the same street as the first shop you visited. Your mom looks awesome. Looks like a fun day.

Great tour around Tomoka State Park and around Ormond Beach. We live near Daytona Beach and love that area. We enjoyed camping at Tomoka. We had a Roadtrek, but sold it a couple years ago. Got more of your videos in the queue.

This looks like a very nice state park. We went to Alaska last month and were so sad we didn't see any beers I was so looking forward to seeing at least one. Also we were told one night we may see the Aurora and unfortunately didn't I stayed up so late to see it. Thanks for sharing you did a very nice video. The French were the first Europeans to explore Michigan and you will find several French named rivers bays , etc. scattered around. Too bad you didn't make it to the Presque Isle river in the western end of the Porkies. There are some very nice falls there. You probably found out about the French influence at Mackinac Island. The English took over from the French and changed some of the spelling to Mackinaw , the way it is pronounced in French. It is derived from the native word often spelled as Michilimackinong which means great turtle , the indigenous name for Mackinac Island .
