That is deffinatly better then most shows in the parks, that animatronic is really impressive! I would actually like to see it when I visit Hollywood Studios next.

ITS SO REALISTIC!!!!!! This attraction gave me hope for humanity.
I am pleasantly entertained knowing that this was a filler/crowd eater to begin with.

I thought this was an abhorrently uninspired idea at first, but then I saw that animatronic and HOLY CRAP.
Okay, I still think the space could've been used for something else, but darn is the technology isn't impressive.
To be fair, this was like a last minute decision and was just announced last year. To be able to accomplish this in a short amount of time is pretty impressive.
Well that’s disney parks for you. Anything on their official turf is “Glorified of GtFO”. To as basic as the designs of their trash cans.
That Lightning McQueen animatronic is much more detailed than the one at Cars Land on Radiator Springs Racers, with more animations and a longer presentation and like half an hour of dialogue while the one on RSR only has about 6 minutes of dialogue

This isn’t meant to be a headliner attraction, it’s just suppose to be a filler to balance out the park from Galaxy’s Edge and the new Mickey and Minnie ride. I think this show does a great job for what it was intended for, pull people away from the streets for a little, and give them a new kid friendly offering. Great job Disney... now we just need permanent replacements for Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid shows

It feels like a preshow to an E-Ticket, but without the awesome ride at the end. I enjoyed it though!

The only problem to this is if the animatronic breaks in the middle of the show the whole experience is ruined

The lightning McQueen animatronic that’s in cars land at Disneyland looks like child’s play when you compare it to this version.😅
I won't say it will be ruined as this is a shown multiple times a day and it's not a ride so hopefully it won't have long wait times.

This completely exceeded my expectations

It may be cause everyone is sitting in benches, and not 4D chairs like in Shrek 4D. Then again it's impressive how fast Disney was able to build and open this, considering they only just announced summer last year
What a cute show! I wasn't expecting the whole Chick Hicks narrative, but it was a lot of fun.
THE ANIMATRONIC WAS SO REALISTIC
Thanks for sharing this show! I'll be there in a couple weeks to cover it myself, but I couldn't wait. In my humble opinion, the ending of this is far better than the ending of Cars 3 - because McQueen actually wins! So glad they used Chick for the villain instead of Jackson Storm. Oh, and the Leak Less Easter Egg was neat.

Violeta Shortwater pardon me for breaking the illusion, but they use the same technique as Elsa and Anna's faces for the frozen ride in Epcot. It's done with projections and screens

Although the show does make it feel something to just help with the crowd capacity, that animatronic looks awesome!

A part of me can’t believe this is real. It looks like they just took lightning from the films and plopped him in a ride.Its truly Disney magic.

How did he know
The smoke effects have already been disabled after he wins the race. The fog was causing too many downtimes. The other fog effects have been toned down significantly.

That is a fantastic audio animatronic. I'm not a fan of "Cars" but man, does this impress me.
So only is for see the screens or the benches move or what? The animatronic is awesome the movement looks so natural besides you can see the screen range in his mouth

The version for DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE can use a chair smilater same chair technology used on (THE DREAMWORKS THEATER FEATURING--KUNG FU PANDA ADVENTURE) at UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD

Not up front but there was wheel chair seating in the back row. Still had a great view!
@@tonyreser4849 are you sure? Someone else told me there were 2 rows up front and 2 rows in the back that have wheelchair seating. It's not a great view for me in the back because I can't sit straight up and need to lay almost flat.

It seems that, because it's a projection, they could randomly have a couple different race shows.

What former attraction is this?
Christopher Cervantes I can’t remember exactly. I grew up on the west coast so I didn’t go to Disney World often, but if I’m not mistaken, I think this was either a meet and greet building with characters, or it was just empty space next to Rock n Rollercoaster. Good question though.

also i can't tell if lightning mcqueen's mouth is projected or it is an animatronic mouth (i know his eyes are projected though)
Projected. At Disneyland, his mouth actually moves.
but in radiator springs racers you can see a reddish glow around his mouth so this means his mouth is projected
