- Lightning McQueen from "Cars 2" now has a part in the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The new Cars segment replaces the Herbie the Love Bug skit. Herbie can still be seen during the Studio Backlot Tour.

This almost felt real! Seeing this Pixar Cars stunt show.
Unfortunately, this is far worse than Lightning Mcqueen's Racing Academy.
theory: he goes as slow as he does during the chase on purpose because 1. so many things take up space, it would be impossible to go as fast as he usually goes without crashing and or breaking something. if the trucks weren't there, the chase could've been like the ones we see the hero go through. or 2. he fooled the car into thinking he could get away. only to fall right into a trap
i hope this explains why he goes so slow during the chase

Yikes. They were so focused on making an animatronic, they forgot to make him a car. A normal race chassis with low rider shocks would've done fine for body animation, and they could've had, you know, a stunt driver inside to make lightning to some cool stuff.

very cute! i like the addition replacing Herbie. it keeps up with new disney films, and i was getting bored with Herbie anyway. i asked my mom if we could skip this when we go in August, but now with this, i really want to see it now!

lol... He says, "I am speed; I am Lightning!" and accelerates to like 10mph... not very entertaining. But the cars movements when he talks are well done.

@GamingReviewsLive He isnt a stunt car, he just might be one of the regular very slow, McQueen cars that are for show and stuff and just in the show.
i admit that is great see Mate and lighthing but in this, i dont know i imagine that there be like really cars action, like the show, and the end is like, WHAT very slow but well
McQueen is so slow because of all the tech inside the car. The normal cars are stripped of everything and custom made to fit the show. Still.....ZZZZzzzzzZZZzzzz

I've been waiting for McQueen to be put in this show just b/c it makes sense to. Now I wish he wasn't. This was not a car chase. This was a 10mph look at how nice my paint job is show. Boring! McQueen was built to race! Please change this part asap.

Well, he can change paints from time to time, and they were probably too lazy to make Fabulous Lightning McQueen (even though it’s much simpler)
True. But he does have his old red paint back in the Cars on the Road series.
It's a nice idea, but yeah...the slowness inhibits it a lot...

Even though it doesn't matter anymore since the attraction's closed, (the WDW branch anyway) I still see a few problems with this version of the show:
#1: It makes no sense at all inserting a spy and espionage plot into a live show otherwise centered around stunts and car action as the name states.
#2: As clearly seen Lightning's mouth or eyes never move, neither does the "enemy spy car's". (same problem also exists in "Cars Land" from what I've seen) The version with Herbie never had that problem: Herbie only ever communicates using his horn, thus he doesn't speak and it would not be necessary to give him a moving mouth/bumper. (though as shown by Herbie: Fully Loaded's "Behind The Scenes" it IS mechanically possible unlike with McQueen's mouth, Herbie also of course doesn't have visible eyes unlike McQueen so that wouldn't be a problem either)
#3: As other people have said, yes, Lightning DOES drive at a RIDICULOUSLY slow speed even when he states he's going to go fast.
#4: Herbie was the trailblazer when it comes to Disney's famous cars, and he always will be, ain't no other such character like McQueen ever gonna change that. How they even thought of replacing him in this show in the first place I have no idea.
#5: #Team53 #lovebugfever #herbieforever (did I mention I have EXTREME bias towards Herbie and AGAINST Lightning McQueen?)
If I were to bring the show back, here's how I'D do it: Lightning McQueen would appear on the set just like the last few years of the show's operation, but then some minutes in Herbie would show up and push Lightning off the set. It would then be announced that Herbie would be here to stay for good. (heck maybe I'd even have Herbie be part of the main show, maybe assisting the hero in his red car in either chasing or escaping the bad guys in the black cars)
This was kinda something I wasn’t expecting, and it was kinda disappointing ngl, and this is coming from a HUGE Lightning McQueen fan. LMAO
This was cool but I’m sad it’s gone.
At least there’s another attraction with Lightning!

That was the lamest promotion i have ever seen. Herbie is more well known than McQueen in the first place. Disney, Herbie is one classic that you should never let go.

i watched Disney Pixar’s cars
On Disney plus using my cell phone/iPhone atop a picture i drew/outlined aka a Disney Pixar cars portable DVD player.
So I’d do my imaginative play and creative play
To make look like i actually use an actual electronic device that requires internet, electricity and stuff like that.
