That Aisan carb is much nicer than the ones I have tried to rebuild, which were so loaded down with emissions junk that they looked more like a bundle of snakes than a carb...
It's a very wise idea to take a photo of the sides and top of the carburettor whne on the engine and before you dismantle it at all. Also at various times during disassembly of the whole thing. So helpful to enable correct re assembly.
Can you tell or show us where the siphon break on the secondary venturi is? And what is an Oklahoma rebuild that can clean this siphon break without taking the carb apart?
The delay is huge, almost as if there's no fuel, I'm not sure how to tell if I've got vacuum secondaries or mechanical (it was sold as a turbo carby). After rebuilding it started straight up and went to 2000rpm, after playing with timing and idle screw i got it to 1400rpm which was borderline okay. Then I took it around the block for a drive, and as I got back home it started stalling again (hence why I rebuilt the carby!). Thanks for the reply, i'll keep looking into it.
Hi, I just rebuilt a 28/32 Aisan carburettor for a Daihatsu Charade Turbo - I followed your instructions along with the factory manual and the haynes manual yet I still have issues and I'm unsure where to look. It either idles really high or barely at all (I've replaced all the hoses) and when boost comes on there's about a 1 second delay as if the fuel cuts out. Just thought I'd put it out there - Thanks for the video though!
Thankyou for taking the time to film and upload these videos. Do you know by chance if this carb is the same as the Toyota Corolla 4AC motor 1985-89? It's an Asian two barrel. Thanks mate!
Thanks for the videos. My greatest fear with carbs and throttle bodies are the screws and nuts which are tight due to electrolytic corosion. Any idea to loosen them without damaging the screw and carb body?
hy, could you pls tell me where did you get that rebuild kit? i have a 1990 toyota crown with a 2.8L 5M engine and it has an AISAN carburetor and i can't find any kits for it. thnx
Thanx for these uploads! I'm starting to feel a lil calmer now about tackling my rebuild on a '89 corolla emissions controlled nightmare carb.
Great Video. You really helped me dismantle and repair my carb. Thanx .
This is extremely helpful - thank you!
Thanks, Pin! Very nice vids and very helpful...
thanks for the quick reply, I will have a go at it soon.
Cool Man, Nice work and demonstration.
Keep going.........
