    A football betting strategy that will ALWAYS win? Is the Dr Slicer Secret Betting Strategy a myth or is it actually true?
    In 2008, a member of the Betfair forum called "Dr Slicer" posted to reveal that he had found a way to take advantage of a market inefficiency on Betfair. This would allow him to ALWAYS win and NEVER take a loss.
    Basically, every time he placed bets using this strategy he would make a 9-12% return.
    This sort of thing is what every trader dreams about and after Slicer revealed some hints as to what the strategy was it then led to many people trying to figure it out for themselves.
    Some claimed to have cracked the code, others couldn't get their head around it.
    But today in this video you will see what we believe was the secret strategy demonstrated on the Betfair Exchange.

      Actualy i did some adaptations. and only lost 1 due not beeing focused.
      But this is what i found ,
      Dutch the correct score up to 3 goal markets . 3.5 goal market. at 2.7 or better
      Back the over 3.5 / lay the under 3.5 . ( your choice )
      You wont make huge amounts with one game but you wil make a profit .and dont lose a cent.

    Looking at applying this to the Watford/QPR game last night, which I think was a qualifying match.
    Worked out well with the half time lay going down, I tried most of the possible angles for the second bet. If you follow what he says literally, I think the 0-0 full time bet is the only one that it can be. All the other bet types can be dismissed for one reason or another. As you stated, due to the price synchronisation these days this bet probably wouldn't work now.
    That leaves the two big questions, what could the third bet possibly be. I think the adjustment on the second bet might be the cashing out, this would then be used for the mystery third bet. He guarantees that the system wins every time, so what third bet could possibly guarantee this. Also the profit of 9-12% on every match doesn't seem a workable end result for what can be a two part bet.

    As one of the traders that studied "Slicer strategy" i have to say you might be totaly correct. IÂŽm also pretty sure it was the ineficiency of the markets that would getter the returns. That ineficiency it still exists today on another market. Its a not so public strategy i shared with some traders in a meeting in S. Paulo, Brasil. Good job Ben.

    Hey! Long time follower of you Ben. I love your insights. I tried this today but with a little twist. I waited until 10-15 minutes into the first half when the price for FHG was shorter, around 2, but the price on U 0,5 still was at 12-13. It had not shortened much at all. This generated a profit. Small, but still a profit. Cashed out at HT. Thx for your hard work!

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      I like this idea actually. Since sometimes we see some markets stall whilst others continue as normal and there is possibly opportunities when this happens. The markets can lose their synchronicity at times in-play before quickly catching up.

    • @cheshirered9204
      @cheshirered9204 Pƙed 3 lety

      This could be automated.
      You'd need a formula for FHG+0.5 and FT0-0 hitting required odds.
      Program would then ID all top level games that qualify pre-KO.
      Auto-create shortlist. (No bets at this stage)
      As FH goals go in OR either FHG / CS odds change outside qualifying criteria short-listed matches fall away.
      Alert ID's games where both odds fall into line for a guaranteed win.
      Possibly a tight time window?
      Scale up as per liquidity per qualifying game.
      Obviously wouldn't be every game but when they come along, you're in.
      PS Ben, as an act of extreme generosity you can have access to exclusive rights to my newly refined strategy in exchange for a free copy of your trading course. I'm sure you'll agree this is a real bargain for you as you'll make FAR more money selling your final refined and fully-proofed formula than just the cost price of a single course. How reasonable am I, eh? Frankly you can't lose. This offer is time limited and expires 5PM Thursday 21 January 2031. Hurry! Don't miss out.

  • @nickob55
    @nickob55 Pƙed 3 lety +2

    Yeah the simple greening up doesnt follow the third bet and stake adjustment hints, perhaps it was the HT/FT market, the only way you can beat any efficient market is with staking strategies which Slicer hints at and also suggests the strategy would be over at 45 mins

    Hi, need to make a different. This strategy could be work when there is no favourite. For the celtic match, you have to invert the strategy, lay 0-0 and back under 0,50ht. When there is a big favorite people think that the Gol arrive and 0-0 odd will be high when 1st half finish without goal.

    I think for Correct Score 0 - 0 to cover the Lay of Half Time 0- 0, it needs to be a match where a first half goal is expected. If it doesn't arrive, then the first half needs to be 'cold', i.e. few shots on and off target, few corners and dangerous attacks, making the Full Time 0 - 0 more likely and therefore lower odds at half time, allowing a green-up of the Correct Score market to cover the Half Time 0 - 0 loss.

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Pƙed 3 lety

      I think you are right but only when the markets were less efficient. These days the correct score and half time markets are very in sync and the price on 0-0 at half time is already factored in. A cold first half won’t affect the price that much in higher liquidity matches but it can still happen which was maybe why it worked in Bundesliga 2.
      My conclusion is that while it can work it just isn’t reliable.

    Is it not the case that the Celtic one failed because they were such a clear favourite? Even at half-time, the market is expecting goals at any minute. This probably needs to be done with teams closer in ability (odds) or when the game is plodding along with little action.

    There could be something laying draw /draw market or backing it or backing 0/0 full time and laying draw ht with an additional bet , very complicated and those betfair markets are all linked in to the match odds, whatever you try you come out break even at best.

  • @joshbaxter425

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Pƙed 3 lety

      Very good observation. So maybe there could be some sort of angle to be had hoping a red card could shake the market up a bit. The 0-0 tends to drift on red cards so not sure if it would help this particular strategy but it is worth a thought.

  • @777xino
    @777xino Pƙed 3 lety +2

    At HT with the score 0-0
    The FT 0-0 price will be lower (than the average) if the first half produced lots of chances or was an open, fast paced game.
    The FT 0-0 price will be higher (than the average) if the first half produced few chances and was a tight, slow paced game.
    Therefore, perhaps, the Braunschweig v Fortuna Dusseldorf game was not a question of market inefficiency (like perhaps, it was back in the day) but price adapting to current match conditions. In this case it produced a healthy green but in the Celtic game, the FT 0-0 price was probably slightly higher than the average, due to perhaps, a slow, uneventful first half?
    Just a thought. If you can identify a match-up where plenty of shots (more than the average) will be had during the 1st half, if it remains 0-0 by HT the price of the FT 0-0 could be low enough for a green. Perhaps this is why Dr. Slicer chose a game with a well fancied home favourite? Great video though!

I've tried all different kinds of games and every one of them would have me at a loss!! I don't understand why the odds were so low at half time? Does anyone know?

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      The simple answer is that the market in the match was inefficient, perhaps the pace was much slower than anyone expected? That is the problem with the method is this sort of thing isn't guaranteed.

    I would just use the Lay the 00 at half time and back the 00 at full time. You would then cash out if the home team favourite and away team showed dominance and they were if fact balanced. This strategy is basically saying the the teams in the day played worst than expected in the case of the home team favourit and the away team played better. Thus the market miss priced the pre-match outcome.
    In football, a highly variable match with players and teams being off it is expected, but for this miss pricing to occure for the entire 90min you will have to a very good game reader and be on the edge of your seet biting your toenails..... litterally.

    Well, let's see. Albirex Nigata-Mito was 1.7 before kick off. So, lay HT Over 0.5 5 USD@3.4 (12 USD liability) and back 0-0 CS 4 USD@14. HT was 0-0, so -12 USD for laying HT Over 0.5 and laying 0-0 CS 12.44 USD@4.4 for "8.02 USD green up" . The loss is -4 USD....

    Hi Ben, I would assume the 10 - 12% profit margin would be based upon the total amount staked across the different markets. So ÂŁ100 staked (Risked) in total would yeild ÂŁ10 - ÂŁ12, but i feel this win goes against the odds as 75% of football matches there is a goal scored in the first half, only 8% of matches result in 0-0, this contradicts the over 2.5 goals market strategy so it must all be down to game selection...

    1. you have a document with the way you tested the strategy on several bets?

    Thanks!

    • @SportsTradingLife
      @SportsTradingLife  Pƙed 3 lety

      In the Celtic match, the profit on the CS market was not enough to cover the loss from the half-time 0-0 so yes we would have to accept a loss, since if a goal is scored after this we lose on BOTH markets now.

    You would be surprised to find that the market is still not as efficient as you think it is. Especially if you focus on less prominent matches
    I've tried this in the last 24hours and I've had all winners. The only thing that may screw this from my POV is a Betfair system glitch or an error on your part
    EDIT: I feel that timing of your entries and odds selection could be a critical aspect to make this work. I've been noticing patterns while simulating without using real cash. I dont have nay real theories yet.....but I'm convinced there could yet be a viable avenue here.
