This song is great. The first six Black Sabbath are simply amazing. Since you've been checking a few classic-rock stuff you should really check April by Deep Purple. It's quite different from the songs you've heard from them, but still amazing stuff. Great reaction, man!

Tony Iommi's solo style lacks imagination, but he makes up for it with his killer riffs. Like you said: he doodles very fast in the pentatonic blues scale.
If you haven't heard it already: Deep Purple - Hard Lovin' Man from June 1970 is the first thrash metal song IMO. It came out just before Paranoid, It's a killer song!

The innocence of a very young soul and their memories within heavenly places are soon turned to cynicism by the darkness within reality.

Songs by other singers. Zero The Hero with Ian Gillan. Headless Cross, When Death Calls with Tony Martin. Can't think of any good songs with Glen Huges when he was with Sabbath but Dopamine on Tony Iommi's solo album was good.

Zero the Hero has a nice groove to it. Underrated classic.
