@@prestongalindo1499 no morbid shit but de niros death is to be expected he’s in terrible shape for his age, can only hope for the best but when pesci & pacino die that’s gonna suck
Paulie is such a brilliantly written character. He's simultaneously the most sentimental character on the show while also being a complete and total scumbag. One scene he's pouring his heart out to Tony about his mother and then the next scene he's smothering an old lady to death over money.
"Pine Barrens" was probably the funniest episode of Sopranos. Too many funny quotes to remember, but one they didn't include was the scene where they're sleeping in the abandoned van, and Christopher is taking a leak on Paulie's side of the van. Paulie says, "oooohhh, do that by your own window, I don't wanna smell your piss"
This one stings. The cast and crew of The Sopranos brought the absolute best out of Mr. Sirico as an actor. He inhabited the role of Paulie seamlessly and with conviction. His portrayal as a gangster is, IMO, the most complete and believable in film/TV history. He brought an authenticity and depth of character that is unmatched. His mannerisms, gestures, delivery, and idiosyncrasies were glorious to behold. He had the most memorable and quotable lines on the show by a country mile. My condolences to his family and friends. It is saddening to see how many cast members of The Sopranos have passed. I will treasure the moments of joy I got watching that show. Godspeed Mr. Tony Sirico.
Season 4 episode 8 has one of my favorites, he's talking to his mother's friends in the old folks home and goes: "I don't get it, when I was a kid you were old... now I'm old and you're still old" lmaooo
A life without Paulie Walnuts is barely life at all. This guy gave me so many laughs during a crappy time in my life. I hope he’s eating maple walnut ice cream up there
Paulie and Junior always have me in stitches. That scene of Paulie in prison on the phone to Johnny Sack when he turns to another inmate and yells, "Don't touch that channel! My program's coming on!" always cracks me up.
the best one is when he goes "hey you remember your first blowjob? How long did it take for the guy to cum?" "you hear that Tony?! I asked him if he remembered his first blowjob he said yeah. I said how long did it take for the guy to cum?"

this is some eerie shit, I started rewatching the sopranos months ago & I just finished the finale yesterday...a couple of hours later Tony dies, I feel like I been stabbed in the heart. RIP Uncle Paulie!
Unbelievable how the writer/director of the show got such incredible actors. Hes absolutely fucking brilliant. Hands down my favourite character. Hes ruthless, can be compassionate, but has your back until the end. A true soldier! "Commendatori, like a commander, i like that, that's respect"
The fact he was so specific with the Maple Walnut ice cream makes it for me. Maple Walnut is such an old person's ice cream flavor, I doubt they even make it anymore.
Its way to far in the past now for me to know for sure but I think that Paulie might have been the hook that encouraged me to really get into the show.
I love Paulie but Sirico is not really a good actor. He does a good Paulie because he is very close to Paulie in his real life. Any movie you watch with him (even pre-Sopranos), he basically plays Paulie.
My favourite ever Paulie line is in Pine Barrens with the bad phone connections. Tony's describing the Russian's past in the military "Worked for the Chechen interior ministry". Paulie "You're not gonna believe this. He killed 16 Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator". Then Chris responding with "Did you see his apartment?" just kills me.
akkiim0123 definitely, especially when him and Chris are arguing outside that restaurant about Chris always paying and the waiter came out bitching about the tip. that one was my favorite
Oh man, one of the best lines is missing :D When cousin Tony (Steve Buscemi) tells them about the Korean guy giving him money for a massage parlor and Paulie steps in: "Word to the wise; remember Pearl Harbor!" Just priceless.
+Wusel Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Paulie was correct as for as the sneak attack, as the Asian later sucker punched cousin Tony in the gut while they were fighting! Lol! It was a Pearl Harbour sneak shot if I've ever seen one!
haha that's was a good one. I loved the one where they were in Tony B new masseuse shop and the Korean chick daughter leaves and Paulie goes "word to the wise, Remember Pearl Harbor."
Paulie's relationship with his mother (who turned out to be his aunt) shows that somewhere inside Paulie had human feelings underneath his mob-toughness. As viewers, we can somehow relate to these characters even though they are reprehensible mobsters and murderers, snuffing out lives seemingly untouched. The characters Paulie and Tony played off each other's flaws and strengths. The painting of Tony and his horse Pie-O-My, rescued and retouched for Paulie to make Tony a Napoleonic general - what a revealing sequence. Paulie (who hated to see the expensive painting trashed, a big waste of money) meant it as a compliment to his boss - and maybe an underhanded jibe as well. Paulie was naturally funny, even when he wasn't wise-cracking. The Sopranos was so much more than a saga on mob-violence thanks to brilliant writing and especially acting. Paulie Walnuts was one of my favorites.
All the characters are presented as sociopaths. They act in the most cruel way and then cry if some remotely bad thing happens to them or some people they are close with.
+Dimitri Valmas My favorite in that episode was "How about the Cuban Missile crisis, the cocksuckers brought nuclear warheads into Cuba and pointed them at us"

Paulie Gualtieri, biggest ball breaker ever ... and the man never shut up, which alone was annoying as hell and enough to make us want to strangle him. Even in Tony's state of comatose unconsciousness, Paulie's personality had a negative effect on the nerves. There were a few times when we saw a glimmer of humanity shine through his hardened soul ... so while he was an asshole to the nth degree, maybe he wasn't completely heartless. Still, I never really trusted him. I questioned his loyalty to Tony throughout most of the series. In the end, The Sopranos left Paulie just as he always was ... alone and miserable.
He was probably one of the most loyal guys to Tony, he never done nothing behind his back. He had a soul but what do you expect in a job where you are killing and robbing for a living, not everyone will be humane.
