- Power is a potent cocktail.
Midst is an audio drama in which three mischievous narrators spin a surreal, reality-bending, sci-fantasy space western about a crotchety outlaw, a struggling cultist, and a diabolical bastard making awful decisions in a world on the edge of disaster.

“Why are you see-through?”
“Oh my god, Penny, you can’t just ask people why they’re see-through!”
"I'm getting top-quality healthcare NOW that I'm so rich" WOW the deliberate phrasing of that
Love the attention to detail with Imelda's thin string of Valor she did record her deeds of torturing Weepe. You love to hate that woman she is nothing if not dilligent and dedicated to her Cult I mean her economy
Imelda and her 5 alt costumes eat sandwiches with the god emperor of mankind.
Two more alts and she can get into Smash Bros!

i dare say big e may have finally found his mood kindred
@@hunterwallasus3582 I am genuinely bent over laughing at this holy fuck
wow i can’t unsee that now
Out of everything Weepe has said and done, somehow that bit about losing his nutcracker was like the peak of sinister, apex banal evil.
His "King Triangle"-line cracked me up more than it should have
As a matter of fact, I actually DID know Lark was buying Weepe's blood.
I'm glad I noticed the connection between Weepe's blood and Lark's glove when she was describing the mechanism. Y'all are just so great.
acculturation: assimilation to a different culture, typically the dominant one.
Weepe’s blood machine is a big ol’ Checkov’s Gun if ever I’ve seen one.
Oh, yeah. That will be important later.
I feel like it's ameldas plan to get rid of weepe and take absolute power
and DEFINITELY nothing to do with the already-installed-fold-safe-lightbulbs right next to the bad-fold-blood-machine
@@lauraviniconis3006 as well as it totally not being faulty
@willcaster819 My exact thought when they brought it up.
Look out people: bunch of Karens going to their pyramid sch- i mean MLM meeting over mimosas.
That giant throne of Weepe's really giving me Warhammer 40K vibes. Surely something like that won't backfire on him, right?
Also, Weepe essentially kick Spahr out of his own home sounds like something he would do.
Don't even know why, but I can't help but think Imelda is behind the moon blowing up, or at least somehow involved. Ever since she took up post on Midst, when we were introduced to her, things have been going way too smooth for her, she even budgeted for the Weepe thing.
Not to mention she effectively set up the whole Cabaret situation which lead to Jonas Spar getting ousted from his position... There are missing pieces here.
1:55 Me when I crawl out of my room and go downstairs to meet my mom's friends.
My mind keeps drifting back to Atticus Concord. I kept wondering if he was just a tertiary character. If that whole situation was just a means of introducing Weepe. But this episode has me wondering again. And what of his sister poking around?
They don't introduce anything that won't have a purpose later.
I took it as just showing us how far out of his depth Atticus was. Like yeah this guy is clever and slimy but THIS guy makes him look like Mickey Mouse!
My theory was for a bit that Weepe is Maximilian Loxly, and the fold poisoning is from being tossed into the vat that Lark tossed his “dead” body into. The fold is apparently capable of wild things; why couldn’t it bring someone back from the dead. Now he’s executing his vengeance and his grand plan. Buuuuut the narrators said he doesn’t know Lark, so now I don’t know.
I really like that theory.
They said he doesn't know Lark... did they say he doesn't know *Clara Myer*? After all, it was decades ago...
I do think there would be a few moments they played differently if he was ML. However, it's possible that the process scrambled his memory?
Wouldn't put it past these self-proclaimed unreliable narrators.
The way he spelled out "light bulbs"....
@@susanlee6473 good point
had to pause after king triangle because that took me out
The theme of the light bulbs being mentioned all over the place is kinda making me suspicious. First we got Lark's backstory involving her mom dying in a lightbulb factory, then we get a thread of connection to Weepe's backstory also including light bulbs messing him up. Also the narrators specifically pointing out how the room is lit by un-safe lightbulbs.
Fold-safe, not Un-safe. But I like the pun.
Ole Emperor Triangles here
Moc Weepes Art. Woah. HIS HEAD
The almost imperceptible low music in the background at the beginning made me so nervous absbsbsbw like something bad was nearby or was going to happen
6:53 SQUOZEN. New word has been added to my vocabulary.
The mention of the nutcracker reminded me. Remember what Moc Weepe told Aticcus about what would happen to anyone who f*cked with him? And how he killed him?
Patiently waiting for when Imelda's turn comes.

This season has been amazing so far, the story telling, the graphics and the audio design all seem to have such an awesome step-up from the already amazing season 2. I'm loving it so much
Imelda is diabolical!!!
I hate how much I love how brilliant she is!
She was playing Weepe since day 1!!
FINALLY an episode where we get to see weepe agein! I missed moc weepe and the new version him is just a wicked and devious as ever!
So if his blood was being sold by the post office under the counter and shipped to anyone with an undisclosed need for it (like Lark), where's it going now? Theoretically, the Fold in his blood is multiplying even faster now, so it all needs to be stored or disposed of somewhere. My guess is that Imelda's siphoning it off somewhere and keeping it in her back pocket for some kind of plan should things go south.
One hail mary doomsday weapon to destroy the Highest Light comming right up
Y'know the sound of the rain was calming until I saw Weepe and then I could no longer hear it as rain and eugh
It truly warms my heart to see Imelda doing so well, and King Triangles Weepe being ever so grateful to the woman who put him in his position. Mainly because, you know what they say. The higher the heights, the harder the fall. And their plan, oh my, their plan! Scapegoating all the Trust's evil onto one woman, and then killing her in the most Valorous manner possible, simply to make that evil disappear. Well, there's a slight problem with this reverse virgin sacrifice. Several, actually, but most pertinently to their hopes of a magic bullet - their intended scapegoat isn't quite as dirty as they think she is.
So Weepe is basically a giant fold nuke right in the heart of the city...
Well, surely nothing bad will happen with that later on 😁
Things have progressed quite a ways away from Moc Weepe and Saskia singing a duet in the cabaret…
"Why this is Luceille, she's the comedian of the office!"
"Luceille I'm already smiling to make your aquaintance."
Give up your crown Luceille, Moc Weepe's deadpan one line comedy is god tier. That was so hilarious. He's... he's totally going to kill them all right? They're about to die horribly? Maybe not yet.
Well, it can't come too soon for Imelda or any of her gaggle of wittering, twittering, twats. (Pardon my French)
I suspected Larks glove was powered by whatever weep was pulling out of his blood.
They outright stated that this episode...
@@Omnifarious42 yes the comment was in response to the statement in the episode.
Outfit designs. Art team is killing as always
Awwhhh I forgot weepe lost his nutcracker 😢
Almost can see the wheels turning in his head at planning!
King Triangle is now the ONLY appropriate title for our fearless leader 👑📐
Prasie king triangle!
i can already tell its going to have a dark turn
All hail King Triangle... or something.
Much like the ladies, I ALSO have a question about Weepe's condition... but mine would be absolutely untoward to speak of.
All I can think of in relation to Weepe now is the line from The Lion King, "yes our teeth and ambitions are bared"
Get it bc he's see through and politically obvious. Heh
Excellent!
I hope Weepe makes Penny or Gert the Arch-Notary while giving Imelda a more prestigious but less important position. It would be a great way to undermine the significantly more dangerous Imelda while getting an assistant who actually is willing to break from the group occasionally.
Not if he's planning to keep her close so he can just kill her. After all, with enough Valor you can get away with murder. And if anyone can afford a murder, it is Moc Weepe.
I want season 3 trailer and I want it now!😭😭😭
Is Weep completely under Imilda's finger or will he try to fuck up the trust?
Weepe and Imelda. Two Machiavellian schemers both playing a long game
Does someone also feels like Weep is Darth Vader and Imelda is the Emperor? Lmao! 17:26- 17:36 Also, wth?! What a reveal they like casually bomb on us! Geez the writers are genius!
I'm sorry, BUYING HIS BLOOD??? WHAT?????
edit: thanks for the explanation
In season 1, episode 4, Lark buys blood from Sherman to use in her hunting glove. She tells that to the Grandmother in season 2, episode 12.
How else was Lark powering that funky ol murder glove after all
*runs in* I'm here I'm here.
This was a great episode for learning just how fucked up everything really is. Moc selling his blood, ritual sacrifice, wtf?
"The vestments are doing to good work" lol
They moved him into the consector's mansion?! I'm intrigued by the narrative implications.
Squozen? Pfft
His machine makes me think of the machine in the vault.
Is he intentionally trying to stir up stuff by throwing out that "Arch notary" thing?
Weepe lore dump? Weepe lore dump! ...of course that's all we'd get in a Weepe lore dump.
Oh yes. Every society that depends on literal human sacrifice is destined to prosper.
Ah taking it upon yourself to debit someone according to your own irritation. Much like Imelda making up credits to bump up Weepe's initial purchase. Truly these notaries are the ideal of trust society. How can it fall when upheld by such strong pillars?
Weepe offloading his junk is hilarious. I kind of suspect that he's subtly showing his true opinion on them.
Return of the nutcracker. :D
The Trust needs to be stamped out. I hope the Resistance gets better footing soon.
i know mock weep was well frankly a bastard of quite considerable proportions but this...this is extremely cruel
Trust in trust
Hey what if Weepe is the guy that Lark murdered

This episode is a bit harsh on the ears with constant backgroubd noise. Hard to concentrate on what people are actually saying. Didnt finish. 😢
What do you mean "more on that later"???
WAIT WHAT IS THIS ABOUT LARK BUYING WEEPES BLOOD?
WHHHHYYY WAS LARK BUYING WEEPE'S BLOOD??? WHAT THE HECK?!
Lark needed it to power her glove, I forgot when but it's stated she uses liquid fold or something and the only other time we see it being produced is by Weepe, but presumably there are other sources? Idk
It's crazy that they have death penalty in the Un but not prisons.
The Caenum system is a prison with layers of fancy varnish and decorations.
Well you're on a small floating island. Space is at a premium, but deadly cliffs? More than you can poke a stick at.
