  • Kubota LX2610. Detailed Review. Specs. New Tractor!
A new tractor joins me here on the channel. It's the Kubota LX2610 Cab Compact Tractor! I'm very excited to introduce the new equipment and take a few minutes to outline the main features of this unit. A bitter sweet moment as I say goodbye to my old Kubota B2601 - a wonderful workhorse and reliable friend for the last 3 years. Join me for a few minutes and let's take a look at this tractor in detail. Cheers!
CORRECTION:The B2301 and B2601 models are NOT being discontinued.

GP! No rear remotes?!! Can’t think of any attachments that will need it for?!...shucks.
    1) hydraulic top link.
    2) hydraulic turn on blade and/or blower shute if you or the next owner were to come across a rear mount.
    3) 3 point hydraulic Log grapple. I’m sure there would have been one in your future.
    4) resale

I had the same decision to make on my 2650HSDC. I did NOT get them.
A year later, still trying to justify the rear remotes and have only a rear blade and grading scraper.
It all depends on your use of the tractor.

Tom Thumb I understand. And I think that is a big selling point on the Chinese and Korean tractors. Two things that i see the most for rear remotes on compact tractors are hyd. Top link and snowblower. Hyd top link with fast hitch...ain’t nothing better.

My B2650 with cab is 11 months old with 135 hours. I appreciate the cab each and every time I am in the TX heat and see creepy crawlers🙂. I wish I had the larger bucket and parking brake warning light. You will love it GP. Your dealer did a great job on the grapple hoses!!!! The whine will change pitches as you use the tractor. I do not notice it unless I am really working the tractor. Enjoy!

Greetings Gord, Lee here, Congrats on your new purchase, you look good driving it, I am really happy for you. I have a cab on my B7510 and I love it, you won't regret the cab. At first driving the cab is a different sensation, with the view you have in the cab it is alot different from the open platform, but after a while you don't even notice it and you have to make sure your door is completely closed when start to drive. Mine has a Curtis cab so the doors are not all glass, I started out of the garage and forgot to close the door on the tractor, well that episode bent the door and the bottom hinge, thank God I got the door straitened and had to only buy the hinges and door cylinder ($200.10) an expensive lesson to learn. But, come winters it does not matter about the weather anymore, you can move snow in your shirt sleeves. Enjoy your new purchase later, keep well!!

I had my new LX2610 Cab Delivered last week. I had mine equipped exactly the same. However the rear work lights were an option. I went with the industrial tires as well, the R14’s looked just a little to aggressive to drive across my yard. I also opted out of the quick tach loader as it added 1000.00 to the price. I had my JD1025R with quick detach loader for 5 years and never removed it. I also purchased the 3rd function remote and a grapple(no more dragging limbs for this guy) If you find a good place to mount/store a tool box please let me know. Our reasons for a cab couldn’t me more different, I’m in Texas where the heat index was 111 degrees yesterday. So far I am like a 16 year old with a new car. I find myself sitting in the cab with the AC On just listening to the radio. I want to thank God for blessing me so abundantly. I know with the Covid outbreak many are dealing with illness or decreased income. My prayers are with them. In closing I know we both will enjoy our new tractors. If you discover any functionality we have missed, please let me know and I will do the same.

Upon reflection, I strongly suggest you contact your dealer about adding hydraulic 'tip and tilt" to the 3 point. This will allow you to have a hydraulic top and side links controlled from inside the tractor. Now that you have a cab with air and heat, you will find yourself dressing much lighter in the winter when using the tractor. Getting out of the tractor to manually adjust link lengths will be an unpleasant experience. Having the two additional levers inside the cab will relieve you of that annoyance. If you don't already have one, I also suggest a battery tender.

I couldn't agree more. First time I used rear remote for top-link, we retro--fitted our other tractors, even a 60s model 601. The last new one I bought, I had three rear remotes, use all three two or TnT and one for scarifiers. In a year or so, I will be replacing one of my older tractors with an LX and it will have a minimum of two rear remotes. In the long run, it really isn't that expensive.

Now I won't be able to kid you about a cab in the winter. But while it will be great in the winter, I believe that you will also really enjoy it in the summer getting out of the heat and humidity! Looks like a good tractor for your Land and channel. I would love having a cab but not sure how much more I would use the tractor to justify the considerable cost. I have a 2013 L3200 gear drive for field and trail work and prefer a gear drive for those jobs. And a 2019 B2301 hydro dedicated loader tractor that your channel helped influence. They are both just about perfect for my 80 acre property in MN. I only put about 30-40 hrs a year on the L3200 but I need to have equipment on hand for projects. Thanks for the video.

Hi GP, your new tractor cab and controls looks identical to my B2650 with the awesome exception of a parking brake light. Do yourself a favour and flip your antenna upside down. I learned the hard way that if you clip a branch with your rear view mirror, it will swing in and clip off your antenna. Mounting it upside down doesn't impact performance and will save you a costly repair.
I did get the rear remote option on my tractor to run the rear mount backhoe. Am also thinking it might be handy if I want to add a rear tilt control for my box blade.
You will definitely love the cab when clearing snow this winter.

It looks like there are a few minor upgrades from the B2650 HSDC that I bought last fall but it's pretty much the same. The cab has been great in the summer heat and keeps the bugs off. I've brush hogged stuff higher than the top of the cab. I got the front third function too. I have a grapple, forks, land plane, and brush cutter. Quick attach and quick hitch. Awesome little tractor! I built a sizeable chicken coop in my shed, and used the forks to move it where we wanted.

Good for you! I bought the 3043D (43 horse) John Deere standard transmission without the cab. After a few hours realized I hated it, and the southern heat is brutal. I upgraded to the John Deere 4052R (52 horse) with a cab, hydrostat transmission, heat and air, and all the bells and whistles. I love it! It sure was nice to have the AC. It also feels a lot different driving over uneven ground so I am taking it slow and keeping mainly to the trails and open areas for now. It's raining today - but that's ok now..:)) I may re-think rear remotes - a few folks made some good suggestions - hydraulic control link, dump trailer etc, which I may want in the future. GP. Awesome tractor! You are gonna love your tractor in the snow and will love the heated cab. Also you will love the AC in the summer. Something to consider with a the rear hydraulic. You can put a piston on the rear blade and in the winter as you are snow blowing and using the rear blade you can angle the blade without leaving the cab.
The radio is awesome and I use my bluetooth headset connected to my phone connect to the radio and can listen to classical music from London! The pros of being comfortable in the cab out weight the practical part of an open cockpit. With the open cockpit, going through the forest is a lot easier.

@@GPOutdoors Glad you liked the idea of the rear hydraulics. I am going to put a piston on my flail mower so I can mow under trees branches without getting my tractor scratched up. I like the flail mower as it is compact, fits in my garage easier than a rear mower. I can put finish blades on, but I have the blades that will cut up small branches, etc. So what is your first project??

Great new addition to your cottage Gord, glad you will be warmer. Watch out for branches...you will enjoy it. Neighbor has one similar to yours, loves it.
I finally had time to open the hood, found a pile of dry meadow seed powder in the radiator area , had to clean it. Gonna check the engine oil and HST fluid clarity tomorrow and swap out the fuel and HST filter. The previous owner put 21 hours year 1, and another 22.5 hours in three years after...so my dealer suggest a few quick filter swaps and possibly the oil and hydrostatic oil if not in good shape.
Gonna try and take it out on the drive away tomorrow, if I can clean out the garage to get it out. Others wise just fire it up.
Funny thing I have a champion 22 ton wood splitter at the old house and it looked big in the old garden shed as it took up lots of room. The splitter is dwarfed by my tractor when you see them side by side. Lol.

You will enjoy the cab. My newest tractor id a MF 4707 with the engine EcoTuned to 105 HP. It is a cab model. I took the exterior mirrors off because 1.) i seldom take it on the road, and 2.) tree branches were slapping them and occasionally folding them against the cab doors making it difficult to open the doors. You going into the woods may think about that too...

Hey man, my wife and I just bought 18 acres, wooded in Washington State, a true dream come true, has salmon run creeks and everything. Obviously we need a tractor, and I have found your channel and videos to be incredibly helpful in regards to the tractor. I'm a handy guy, but know very little about tractors, and after watching your videos, our initial tractor build has morphed and evolved and grown and decreased in costs. However, I feel much better informed and feel like I have a very clear understanding of not only what I not and need, and the land/use purpose behind the items and not wasting money on "toys" that aren't purpose serving. so thanks my friend. would love to chat about a few other things if opportunity permits. still undecided about the cab model, while nice, might be unnecessary for us, would love to chat individually about your experience, though we don't get to negative temps. but we reach the 100's-110's, surprising I know, lol. climate change.

George M from Howell Michigan. Congratulations on your new tractor. I own a B2650 Cab model, much the same size as your LX2610 tractor, I purchased it last fall. I just finished fabricating and installing front fenders. Last winter I experienced enough mud thrown up on the lower and sometimes upper front windows from the front tires that I did not want repeat that scenario this year. I have fabrication experience, I am retired now, but, my career was in fleet maintenance and heavy truck building for a local government road agency. I have watched all of your videos, I really appreciate how you produce them, they are great. Keep up the good work. If you and your neighbor Guy are interested in a front fender project, I can send you photos and material list suggestions. It is a bit of a task, but worth the effort if mud on your windows is an issue. And, it isn't so difficult once someone has figured it out. Again, thank you for your videos, I enjoy them. God bless, and yes, be kind!

Having two tractors, both a 95hp as well as a 26hp works well for me. I know that you will really enjoy the conditioned and dry cab all year long, though you might find at times during nice summer days that you might miss the open cab of the ROPs model. Now that you know more about tractors, you might find yourself eyeing a possible used second tractor. LOL Tractors are addictive.

Pierre Bastien - I have a B2650 cab model and concur with you on the “hydro whine” - my only real complaint with it. Otherwise, it’s a great tractor and is perfect for my application. Looks like the seat may be slightly upgraded on the LX. I’m also going to search for the posts Daniel Chambers mentioned about reducing the noise, but please post back here if you find something. The whine is noticeably worse when you engage the cruise control lever on mine - makes me think there must be someplace in the cab mounting that couples the noise into the cab.

Nice looking unit. Did you get the new tire chains? You most likely will find the rear view mirrors to be more aggravation than benefit when in narrow confines. I had the radio taken out of my L6060. Why? The cab is good at reducing noise, but also the sounds the tractor is making. Listen to what your tractor is telling you!!!! The heater will drive you out and the airconditioning will freeze you out. Be sure to keep a very close eye on the cooling coils in the engine compartment. Just cleaning the screens is not even close to enough. I dropped my rear tire pressure to about 13 lbs. Really helped traction. Do not lower the fronts from factory specs! I also got rear window defoggers. You may try having the airconditioning on low with the heat temp up in the winter to keep the cab glass clear. Did you get a front blower driven off your mid PTO?

Great choice on your new tractor Gord. My LX was delivered at the end of June and is near identical but I went with two rear remotes and turf tires. They are a great tractor and you will really enjoy the cab in the summer and winter.

Thanks Stephen. Are the remotes helpful? I am rethinking that choice. What are you using them for? Thanks!

@@GPOutdoors My main reason is that I plan on picking up a rear mount blower and will use them to for the chute. My driveway is nowhere near as long as yours and I will use the loader to clear snow from around the house.

Wow is right, I had no idea. I have a 2 year old B2650 with cab. The LX2601 looks like the same tractor, but: Kubota added some nice additions. Standard rear working lights, parking brake light, upgraded seats, dash rear PTO switch and speakers are what I see different than my B2650. All nice additions. I added rear working lights and love them. I want to figure out how to add a brake "on" light, I haven't needed to use the rear PTO while not on the seat, but I do see the benefit. As far as the speakers I prefer to wear a radio ear muffs help protect my hearing a little better.
I sure would use the rear remotes, which I also do not have, but I may do the "poor man" option and run two hoses off of my 3rd function "diverter" (not sure if that is the correct name) to the back of the tractor to run a hydraulic top link in the future
You'll love the cab. I am in Minnesota and bought the cab for Winter use, but soon realized it is so nice in the Summer as well. No bugs, dust and the A/C is awesome.
    Congratulations!!!!!

Thanks Mr. D! Thanks for the info - I am rethinking the remotes but yes, enjoying the AC and bug free environment too. Most excited about this coming winter. Thanks again!

That's a real beaut looking tractor GP, congratulations. A great overview and your reasons for the optional extras was interesting. I know you will be more comfortable plowing your driveway, but I always thought you were as hard as nails on the tractor in -40 conditions and I enjoyed watching it. Now I'll expect to see you plowing the driveway in the cab with your budgie smugglers on, otherwise I'll think you have gone soft. Looking forward to seeing you putting the new tractor to use.

LOL!! If I do, I'll have to keep the camera off me . :)) Yup, the old bones needed a little break in the heart of winter. Thanks Mate!

Nice addition to the family. Now for the modifications. If it were my tractor, the first thing I'd do is get some sort of heavy mesh and add it to front grille guard to make sure that nothing comes through to damage up front. 🙃🙃🙃

Nice new tractor. Cab version has some PROS, but also some CONS. Annoying HST noise inside tha cab. So finally I didnt choose it..

Very Nice..... you will appreciate the cab come winter and even the a/c in the summer. It looks very similar to a B2650 cab model. I have a front mount snow blower and my wife blows snow in her pyjamas. I added a LED light bar to the roof of the cab and its like daylight. Looking forward to your upcoming adventures with this new model.
