I like how it’s Michaelangelo who’s the ronin, Splinter said that he had the most talent of the 4 - greater than all 3 combined. He just always preferred goofing off.

I loved that they picked Mikey being the last ronin. Most people expect Ralph or Leo, but amazing to see Mikey being that guy

Come on I think Donatello could and would be a great Ronin also show him some love too. I like all turtles been a fan since 5yrs old to now present day.
As someone who grew up watching this the tutrtles cartoons back in the eighties it really hit hard seeing them down and out like this. I can relate having heartaches and troubles over these years.
I am 33 years old and about to cry. I grow up with the tmnt movie from 1990 (which is still the best all them all) and later with the animated series 1987-1996.
To see what happened to Michelangelo broke my heart. I was always the Raphael type of guy but loved the goofy way Michelangelo takes nothing seriously.

I am so on the same wavelength as you on this one! Only I preferred Mikey when I was a kid, and seeing him broken and alone was the saddest thing I could ever think of.
Last Ronin is one of the greatest comic series ever. When you mention last Ronin, it's up there with flashpoint, darkest night, emerald twilight, infinity war and kingdom come. I didn't care for the turtles until The Last Ronin came out. Amazing

There's a game being made; "God of War" style...
But you are, right. It would make a great follow up to the original live action movie.... You could even save money and get the original actors since they've aged accordingly and wouldn't be expensive since they aren't A-list.
Plus the actor who played Casey Jones is fairly well known...

Huge tear jerker seeing the baby turtles at the end.
Only entertaining thing that ever made me cry and feel hurt was randomly rewatching 1990 turtles and Mikey was crying about splinter (My dad was living dead with a stroke getting tube feed) and when he told Danny all good fathers take care of they son's.....
I never thought at 5 yrs old I be crying over that movie 28yrs later

Being born in the early 80’s I’ve loved TMNT since I was a small child. Everything from the cartoons to the darker origins in the comics. I knew of this but never read them and I think your breakdown was awesome man thanks for that. Mikey was always my favorite turtle growing up. Even had a pet turtle that I named after him as a kid. Was cool to see him as the last and the one to make it all right in the end and especially seeing him finally at peace. This series was freaking great and glad the OG creators got their hands back on their creation👍

@@milkmanman That's fair. I really thought Robin was gonna have his own little bludhaven with Lazarus Island. And I was really hoping Robin would have been the one to put the nail in the coffin of Magic John Cena, But between the tourney, Damien showing off how lethal he is, vol 3's ending, and flatline being a badass & funny love intrest, its still my favorite series
I want this comic so bad. Michaelangelo has always been my favorite turtle and listening to you tell this story just brings tears to my eyes.

Such an incredible story, the hardcover they released for it is worth every penny. Also between the incredible figures neca did, and the video game coming, we’re eating good
I really want to be excited for the game but it’s made buy the developers that did the Darksiders series. The first one was ok but I couldn’t really get in to the second let alone the 3rd. This series needs the quality of Rock Steady Batman Arkham. But maaaaaaaybe that’s where they will take it.
@@uselesslysexy Just a little off here - THQNordic are publishers, not developers. Black Forest Games are the developers, which is really less credible than the different teams that worked on the Darksiders series, so...we'll just have to see how that goes. Personally love the Darksiders series, but I know it's not for everyone (especially since they're known for having different types of gameplay every entry)
At first I didn’t know how I would feel about it but ultimately I did really love how they made The Last Ronin Michelangelo, the obvious pick for most people would’ve been Leonardo because not only is he the leader but he’s the most responsible of the group, but having the goofball of the group now become this really hard edged brooding badass was a really cool contrast

man i can’t believe i actually started tearing up towards the end there, im not even that big of a turtles fan, mainly just watched the 2012 series (which i adored) but goddamn this is a good comic

This guy just reads the text with some extra stuff on top. Rob dives into things and had vast knowledge to draw from.
When I read this, I wanted it to be Raph as he was always my favorite. But it hit harder to see Mikey so dark when he was always the jokester. It was bittersweet too as Mikey was the first turtle that was created by Eastman and Laird.
Just bought the full book on a whim - absolutely blown away. It rekindled my love of comics.
Do you guys even realize how much untapped potential is here?... Do you realize how many banger videos you can do narrating literally every series in comics? I'm not sure you realize how good you guys are at it... It would also give you enough content to last a lifetime...you guys are awesome you should consider this lol

I disagree with the final assessment that Casey Marie will be the next April to the turtles she is raising, I believe she will be their Splinter!
I also watched the Turtles as a kid and this story was AMAZING! It brought a happy tear to my eye!
It's cool that casey Marie is a mutant. I think this is the first time that there's a mutant looking human in TMNT with no relation to the X-men

I think the ending is very fitting for this type of story. I am curious to see the future turtles in this timeline but if not I’m satisfied with the ending.
Omg check out The Last Ronin - The Lost Years!!! It shows the next generation of turtles quite a bit older, but not quite as teenagers. It’s very cute, and the comics involve many like “behind the scene” parts of Mikey’s travels.
Seeing the comic book issues, makes me hyped for the game in the future

This was perfect. Mikey was always my favorite turtle since i was a kid. I always felt like he was more than just jokes, but that he chose to be the brother to try and ease the stress that the other brothers felt in a lot of the situations that they all had to deal with
First time making time and sitting to watch a video about comics ... I have always been a TMNT fan ... this story seems extremely awesome. love everything about it.

This was so nice to listen to. Aries’ narration is so awesome. Even though I only listened on audio, I felt like I was watching a movie.
I love this comic series because it’s not who I WANTED to carry on the TMNT mantle. I was a Leonardo or Raphael fan but Mikey was explained in a way that just made so much sense.

when Mikey tlks to Casey . Truly loved it. Poor mikey
The series is fantastic, as each turtle has proven exceptional. Leo was always considered the best due to his leadership and being the oldest, Raph for his strength, Donnie for his intelligence, and Mikey for his speed. However, Mikey is probably the most underrated due to his laid-back personality. Each of the other turtles taught him throughout their history of fighting and caring for themselves. Therefore, he would be the perfect choice to be the last turtle to survive. Although it may seem messed up, it is still the best thing that could have been done for the series. I grew up watching Ninja Turtles, and it was then that I developed a love for martial arts. I would love to see a live-action adaptation of the story.

As a kid I lived and breathed this story line. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the fact it had to end. This was an epic story.
Honestly, Michaelangelo was always my favorite of the team, so to see him at a badass like this is more awesome than I can form words for. If I had to nitpick one thing you had said about the Ronin’s identity, though, I would’ve put easiest money on that being Leonardo at first guess, given the leadership skills and determination. Raphael would actually have been my second guess.

Wow...that was a pretty cool story. April O'Neal being the last one of the original crew is sad but, her daughter carrying on the legacy by stepping into Splinter and April's shoes is pretty dope.

No lie, the creator chose the right turtle as the Ronin
it's random, any one of the turtles could have been the Ronin, but the least likely would be Raphael, as he is too aggressive, which is very important for the group, but puts himself at most risk; Leo as well as the leader. so it makes most sense for Michalangelo or Donatello, but most fans like Mikey, so makes sense.

What I like best about the Last Ronin is that it has given us a new gen of turtles: Odyn, Uno, Yi and Moja.

If you think about it, mikey is the only turtle that would make sense to be the last ronin. He's the only one that could be told to leave the fight since they always babied him, the others would feel too much responsibility for him / he would be the one to be tasked with getting people to safey(exactly what happens). Amazing comic series

I have the graphic novel release of The Last Ronin and it's awesome even though I couldn't hold back from crying at the end because I've had members of my family who've died over the years but one of the deaths in my family was and still is hard for me to deal with that being my father but the Ninja Turtles were and still are my reason for not doing myself in after that so I give Last Ronin a big thumbs up
I really enjoyed this. Mikey being revealed as the last Ronin is the best choice, bc its the least obvious!
The storyline was just great. Getting to see how Leo, Raph & Donnie died along with Casey Jones & Splinter really added to this story. Very happy with it!

Dude the symbolism of Raph dying because his impatience, wrath and vengeance then Donnie dying by ambush fueled by hope for peace and Leo dying leading from the front sacrificing himself. 🤌🏽

Michelangelo the comedian the jokester had to stop joking around. And get real dangerous. Hit me hard to see them go but the end was nice to see the legacy continues.

I read that comic when tmnt mutant mayhem was coming out.
I loved this series it’s was amazing but I felt sad due to watching the turtle always overcome their enemies eventually when I was a kid I guess a part of me will always feel that way but again if this does end up being the definitive end to their story then they did it perfectly
