8 heavy clubs I ordered just arrived and this shows up in my feed. Great timing. It is crazy how much I feel this in my abs despite using barbells and kettlebells for a long time.
More Club Getup videos!
Deck squats with clubs and get ups and sit-ups with mace add different squats with mace
As a skateboarder consistently training this exercise is the only thing that noticeably improved my pop and posture on the board.
We need a new term for the “what the hell” effect but for clubs.
Awesome club content. Thanks for making these tutorials!
Crazy how much the press alone spikes the HR !
I love all cleans and presses. Happy thanksgiving! Watch Dutch or Plains, Trains and Automobiles or both
Great!
Damn, Mark! You 🪨 my world 😀
Love the stock footage with the black guy and the barbell
Amazing video.
Royal Navy P.T.instructors are called Club Swingers
Damn! That's a sexy rock!
I do like the horizontal press. What about doing it with a mace? Thanks.
I actually started doing the press moment in-between Shield Casts.... am I wasting my time with that? Or is that acceptable?
Would this work with single arm club?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔧💪🏽
Mark, I'm finding that during the clean, my higher wrist is getting a bit strained (on the pinkie side) from flipping the club. Any thoughts?
Hand height on catch
Have you ever looked at shillelegh Irish walking stick weapon training
I have one
Is it okay to hit yourself in the face with the heavy club?
Yes. This is how you learn
especially when you do it on a uneven surface like a rock .
Develop a financial interest in a dental office first.
Start with toes, progress to face
I’m going to watch again but good starting weight?
Depends on previous training, but usually 15 lbs
can i do this with a kettlebell upsidedown?
Yes this would be similar, because this feels like a conjugate of a front raise.
Can you do this exercise with macebell?
Typical macebell is too long for the clean portion of the movement. Best bet is a Bulava, which is essentially a shorter mace.
What’s a good starting weight for a middle-aged guy who has never used a club before?
I'm 51 with lots of KB experience, but didn't have any heavy club history. I bought an adex adjustable club and started at 14.75lbs
I started experimenting with clubs during the pandemic and tried starting with the 15 for single arm but needed to drop down to 10 for a cycle due to left wrist tendinitis. I use fixed weight clubs but I’d suggest getting the Adex adjustable and trying to start at 15…that way if it’s a little to heavy for you, you can drop down incrementally. But around 15lbs is probably a good place to start.
I wouldn't go heavier than 7kg to start, that's heavy enough to feel resistance, but not so heavy that you can't execute the movements correctly.
Mark has a video on it. Tl;dr - 15 lbs
6kg for single-hand just worked for me starting, the 15lbs was a bit much. I reckon this ideal starting weight varies much more than has been stated.
For two-hand the 15lbs is still recommended.
After countless videos the repeated hinting at how our feet have to be positioned is tiresome. Having said that, nobody can talk in such a concise way (mistakkes anticipating) over all aspects of the movements, really disecting the exercise and putting it back together.
