    wow -I spread this over 3 days - but highway (A47) with fields of corn, rape seed and cabbages (?) with side trips to Wisbech, Swaffham and Dereham are delightful. I follow with audio off but a track or 2 from Spotify. And I follow on AtoZ map. Fen country is beautiful at this time of year. Tx.

    And to think it extended from Norwich to Great Yarmouth - Gorleston then Lowestoft another 2hours making a full trip 5.2hours when it was route X1 arguably the longest bus route in England - I used to be a driver for this route and FirstBus Norwich even with the split of the route Peterborough - Wisbech - Kings Lynn - Swaffham - Dereham then Norwich is still over 3hours.

      Well, that was an annoyingly loud travelling party. First of all these badly behaved brats, although I was surprised that nobody said anything at some point. I always make myself unpopular in such cases when I tell the parents to please slow their children down. Then there was the woman who talked without interruption and the guy who thought that everything he had to say was so important that it had to be heard within a 10-mile radius. That some people just aren't able to talk at a normal volume, but always sound like they're standing on a stage and giving speeches.

    Would you ever do the full route again, but this time on the Excel C? It calls at all the villages between Wisbech and Kings Lynn, but its fast between Peterborough and Wisbech as it bypasses Thorney and its direct from Swaffham to Norwich as it bypasses Wendling, New Scarning, Dereham and Hockering.

    Can't really decide if the young woman with the loud voice is Australian or American.
    Certainly the young men who are with her sound much more local, Southern England but definitely not London.
    They sound like they are really quite relaxed and enjoying themselves but a again could do with just turning the volume down a wee bit.
    I know that some people would obviously say that you shouldn't really listen into other people's conversations but like most situations I think that is a two-way street and I would argue that when people talk as loud then they make it very challenging not to listen.
    They have a responsibility to themselves and to everyone else who is using the bus or train to be more aware of their level of noise.
    This is one aspect where I definitely think that we miss a bus conductor.
    Because the train guard would just say to them quite politely to turn the volume down.

    • @busouting
      @busouting  Před 29 dny

      I think the young woman was an American. I noticed you get more chatter on buses in summer, winter time people tend to be quiet. It's hard not to listen to conversations when people are loud.

    • @neilburns8869
      @neilburns8869 Před 29 dny +1

      @@busouting yes, exactly but the good thing was it was clear that they were no real threat to anyone and they were obviously in good spirits which is nice to see.
      However my experience with Americans is once they get started in a situation like that they don't really know when to stop talking.
      During the winter months people can seem a wee bit subdued due to lack of sunlight, bad weather,, seasonal illness or simply SADS where some people just get a wee bit down due to the different seasons.
      But obviously it's a bright Sunny afternoon and the trees are looking beautiful.
