I know when I was using TrackTac on the Burris stuff I'd use mostly diluted Mint on them to put the oils back in. Even on an older set if I used that the rubber would come back very well. I'd always do that on an older set before doing any other prep for softening if needed just so I knew where the rubber was actually at with the oils. I'm definitely no expert as I'm a dirt part timer (winter). Now that I use Assassin I have prepped our Burris internally (lightly) as it's an oily internal.

Good to know. Love hearing about different styles and experiences of prepping.

We no longer race but when we did race , we worked maxxis tires all week long . Burris tires did not seem to need as much work so we worked them much less but many races , Burris would not work as well and stayed in the truck . We used a tire roller and also grew or shrank tires . Some of the fastest tires we ever had were 5 year old (brand new though)maxxis yellows that were rock hard . 1 week of purple (all week long on roller) put them in the winners circle by a lot of kart lengths . I think they soaked in a whole can of purple(grape?) within 2 weeks .

I set outside pole on a set of Maxxis ht5s at capital city VA one time. Bought them cheap because I didn’t know any better. Ended up being pretty fast for that particular day. lol.

Can you talk about how to prep(create bite vs softening, etc) for 11s vs 33s for grippy track vs hit dry. When to start(days before?) and when to prep at track. What during do you want for grippy vs dry track. Thank you, appreciate the help. I’m using liquid speed 1, 2, 3 &4.

Actually started to make a video on this but didn’t like the way it turned out. Need to reshoot it. But yes I will do my best.

Ti can be made stiffer or more flexible depending on wall thickness etc if you got the Ti axle to the same weight as steel it would be stiffer because it would be way thicker

Oh I’m sure. The Ti axles I’ve seen are pretty thin. The close to solid you get anything will get stiffer (for the most part )

lol I'm guilty also! I wipe the crap out of my stuff at the track walk up look at the track, watch a race go back to the truck and mess with the tires , I'm surprised I have any usable tires left lol. I buy most of my tires used from clone guys, I run the stock appearing class so I'm a little on the side of the tires don't matter as much with the extra power also.

What are the pros doing for tire program. Are they throwing on a different set each time they hit the track?

A lot are. Video coming eventually about the same tire never hitting the surface twice.

Okay I need some advice. I have Douglas racing wheels and have a barbed bead seat. I'm having a hell of a time trying to dismount this thing, any tips?

Maybe try heating the beard/tire up. Hotbox, torch or the sun. It may help the rubber be more pliable and come off.

I use Vaseline on the bead, put in tire ring I crank it down on the tire. air compressor with a valve coming out and 10 foot air hose with valve clip.
I can mounted new tires this same way with my cordless air pump.
