    Randy is one of my favorite people that I have ever met in racing. If you can describe your track you race at to him he will get you what you need to win. Chris is the same way and great explaining what you need over the ph and in person.
    If you are new to prep or have a limited supply of tires start with at2. If you have a old set of tires use those to hone in your prepping skill's. You can get a tire softer but you will never get a prepped tire back harder.
    On track tac's web page it explain's what each prep will and can do. Thank's Ben on a well documented show

    Hey Ben can you do a video talking about the different types of track surfaces and go more in depth about the surfaces so we have a better understanding of what we newbies are to be looking for? I think we all can kind of guess what dry and dusty look like but it's those other surfaces that can be tricky if you don't know what you're looking for.

    Great video Ben, im new to the game of prepping tires. Im a disabled Delawarian and my stepson is running the kart i recently bought. I wrote down the different preps you personally use. Im fully aware figuring this out is a science like anything else but im willing to learn as i go. Thanks for sharing this video and tutorial abt preps and the basics of it. Ben, love the video, my first year karting and learned a lot from your videos, my son won his first race a couple weeks ago, question. We run yellow vegas and the only prep im doing is trac tac orange on Wednesday and at the track between runs and this has worked well for the 1/8th mile flat oval we run, the temps are getting into the 50s now at night, should i switch to sqs or keep everything the same. Im in middle tennesee.

    Ben when you PRW a tire let's say with 3 SQS wipes will it make your tire pressure from cold to hot rise higher than without it and raise the hot temp? Thanks keep up the good work......

    • @kart6t3_ben
      @kart6t3_ben  Před rokem +1

      It helps the tread come in quicker. So I’d say Yes that initiates heat, so it may raise the internal air pressure faster? That’d be a fun experiment, test on a cold day with and without PRW tire pressure differences.

    Any extra advice to deal with the tire fading mid to late race?

    • @kart6t3_ben
      @kart6t3_ben  Před rokem

      In general, Harder tires. Now this can mean less external prepping or a different/less internal type prep. Some people have a tendency to go for the softer tires because they feel good when the green flag drops. Harder tires will feel ok but not great but as other tires fade…. They get stronger. Imo.
