what if it won't turn on at all, not even charging the battery for the night or even replacing it for a new battery, holding the power for a minute with and without battery and cord, and trying to reset it as well?? any other clues?

My screen won't come on. I disconnected the battery internally. Also hit the refresh and power button (I've done that several times). It did boot back up once eith no issues but then it went back to sleep mode and now I guess it's not waking up?

I have a chromebopk HP 14-ca050sa Very similar to the one you have here but it has an all dark grey bezel and mouse pad wrist rest area. The problem I have it won't boot up, I've tried the methods shown here without success. When I plug in the power supply the orange LED comes on but no matter how long I leave it plugged it it never goes off or white to indicate a full charge. Does that mean my battery is bad or become disconnected? With it plugged in when I try the power wash or factory reset procedure the orange light briefly goes out, turns white goes out again and turns orange, nothing happens on screen and it appears to be charging again. When I unplug the charger, the power light blinks white, again nothing on screen. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Phil
Yeah it sounds like a bad battery. If you have the chromebook plugged in and it powers on but it doesn’t stay on when the power cable is disconnected, it’s definitely the battery. If you can’t power it on at all with the power cable connected it’s a battery issue as well
@@thebookofchrome So just replace the battery or is there a way to 'reset' the battery like unplug it from the main board. Just to get it booted up, as I don't use it on just battery power, it's always plugged in. Cheers for your help.
Yeah you can disconnect the the battery and reconnect it to see if that fixes the issue. Otherwise to you have to replace the battery completely. If you always leave you chromebook plugged in and never allow the battery to drain every now and then. The battery life will be reduced.

Mine has the leds working. It's the Acer Chromebook 15 btw. Also screen mirroring doesn't work. And this started happening after I power washed it.
Unplug the charger Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds That should completely shut off the chromebook Then press the power button and wait for the chromebook to start back up.
There maybe an issue with your charger, If possible try another charger to see if you have the same issue. If the same issue occurs it could be that the charging port is loose or damaged.
You can try a few things 1. Unplug the chromebook from the charger and hold down the power button until the display turns off and all lights disappear. Then attempt to power the chromebook back on. 2. If you have a removable battery, remove the battery and see if the chromebook will power on with only the charging cable connected. In my experience a flashing light could be the chromebook is stuck and won’t fully start because of the battery but it also depends on the manufacturer of the chromebook
I’m sorry about the late response Press and hold the power button until the chromebook shuts off Then try and start the chromebook back up, sometimes they get caught in a standby mode and won’t boot properly
My guess would be that something on the motherboard must be damaged or shorted out to where power is not being delivered to the battery and the battery is unable to charge. Do you see any charging indication or information?

hard resetting just force shuts down and then turns it back on. Maybe you are confusing this with factory resetting?

This is my issue as well. Lights won't come on and won't charge. My chromebook has no screws, does it just come apart? It's a Samsung octopus.
Hi my Dell Chromebook 3100 screen randomly froze and the screen turned black. The charging light is white and hasn’t gone away.
Unplug the charger
Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds
That should completely shut off the chromebook
Then press the power button and wait for the chromebook to start back up.
