Every live Venom song I've checked out on CZcams has been spot on. They were as great live as they were bad on vinyl. I wouldn't be mad if they rerecorded those albums.
I don't think Venom was bad on vinyl, I do think that they along with many other metal bands were better live than on record. In the '70's through the early '80's especially, when metal was breaking big, the idiots that engineered and produced the albums thought it best to restrain the intensity of the band, they had no concept in my opinion of what the songs should sound like. Listen to Kiss studio, then listen to Kiss Alive and Kiss Alive 2. Listen to studio Ted Nugent, then listen to Double Live Gonzo. I could mention UFO and many other bands, their live recording blow their studio recordings out of the water. I honestly thought in the '70'-early-even some middle '80's music they should just record their music live and fuck the studio.
Venom’s “bad production” sound on vinyl made them sound more badass. Slayer tried to capture the “bad production” sound on the Hell Awaits album thanks to Venom. They came close but there is only one Venom
@@budthewiser7294 I like a raw sound don’t get me wrong like old Slayer, old Manowar, and some others but Venom’s first album was what I would call bad. It’s to bad they didn’t atleast get to tweek it a little. Who knows they could have gotten as big as Metallica.
@@60BloodyChamp60 The first album was a demo with an album cover slapped onto it, they were giving just 3 days in the studio to record all the tracks on there, it was meant to be a demo, but the label just released it because their single, In "League with Satan / Live Like an Angel" was getting popular.
OF COURSE OF BEING ONE THE GREATEST SPEET METAL BANDS, MOST OF VENOMS SONGS ARE JUST HEAVY, HEAVY ROCK N ROLL.........WITH A FEW SWEAR WORDS..........LOL.........VENOM IS JUST FUCKIN BADD ASS.......!!
To me there was no band better than 1981-1986 classic lineup Venom. The songs were untouchable, and still are.

@@R.Lennartz and that was a mistake IMO. They should have tweaked it. They could have improved it without losing the raw sound IMO.
