When JJ retired from basketball he said it was because he "wanted to spend more time with his family". Then he started 3 podcasts, got a talking head job at ESPN and now flies around the country broadcasting games.

Much of which can be done from home…so he has the opportunity to spend far more time with them. He didn’t say I want to stare at my wife/kids all day for the rest of time. Also, priorities aren’t static…they change constantly based on a variety of factors. When retiring it’s quite likely he was keenly aware of how much he’d missed family wise, now that he’s been more immersed it’s less of a concern. Finally these dudes tend to be hyper competitive….they’ve defined 25-35 years of their life by competing on the highest level and doing everything that entails. Then they take a break and they miss it so they look for the next outlet. The implication that somehow JJ was lying is completely ridiculous. If some 8 year old says they want to be a firefighter do you call them out when they’re an accountant at 40?

If Magic Johnson as the vice president in the basketball operations for the Lakers could not choose the head coach obviously LeBron can’t choose the head coach for the Lakers.

I have no problem with J.J....always liked him? But this was obviosly a pre-meditated move from LBJ from the beginning? He recruits people that he considers "friends" instead of the qualified? Its the same thing when LBJ was piecing players up to play along side with him from various teams (CAVs, Heat, Lakers) and as soon as things didn't go well with fellow teammates, LBJ would turn on them then have them traded? This is a pattern here that he continues to live by....which always ends up in a detrimental situation for the opposition? Why does the league continue to give LBJ such power to make crucial decisions that always ends up messy and unsuccessful? I thought professional sports was about hiring the best, qualified people for the job, not "podcast buddies"?

He left the second time because he begged him to keep Kyrie Irving, but they traded him anyway. So, what power did he have? LeBron also begged them not to fire Mike Brown, but they did.
if you think these billionaires are going to allow the players to tell them what to do and you have a lot to learn about business.
If that was the case, LeBron would’ve never played for Luke Walton, or Frank Vogel or Darvin him because he didn’t want any of them to coach him

If the Lakers hire JJ, that will be a total humiliation on Jeannie and Pelinka for being controlled by Lebron. I hope she has some pride and don't do that.

If Magic Johnson as the vice president in the basketball operations for the Lakers could not choose the head coach obviously LeBron can’t choose the head coach for the Lakers.
LeBron did not want to play for Luke Walton, Frank Vogel, Darvin Ham. He did not choose these men.
LeBron needs to go to Dallas, San Antonio, or back to Cleveland.
LeBron asked them to acquire Kyrie Irving. They did not. LeBron asked him to hold onto to Rondo and Dwight Howard, they did not. He needs to leave, they are not going to aquire his son whom he wants to play along side. Magic Johnson told us all who Rob Pelinka is.

If the players that make tens of millions dollars and can't win should be held accountable! Firing the coach is the wimps way out!

That is because you don’t understand the game. The players do not assemble the team, the general manager does for the vice president of basketball operations does. They are all great players, but that doesn’t mean that they go together as a team. Then, each coach has their own coaching style, and they have to have players that fit their system.
For example, James Harden and Russell Westbrook play better under a Billy Donovan or Scott Brooks or Mike DAntoni type of system based on speed. Warriors, Kawhi Leonard, and Paul George played better in a grit and grind type of system like Greg Popivich or Frank Vogel

Lose-lose if he goes to the Lakers to coach. First off, the Lakers suck. Their two players were relevant 10 years ago and the pay, compared to his podcast's trajectory, it is NOTHING. Coaching? Now he has a schedule of travel (which he lived thru) that is awful, and... why? Like why? Prove that he can get crushed in a spending free-for-all teams going all-in for one season instead of building a frachise? ... If he does, he is so arrogant that I'd feel honestly bad if I didn't post for him to absolutely not do that...

If the Lakers hire him as a coach, the Lakers will never win another championship. JJ is not coach material, never has been never will be.
Lebron looking for a puppet in case something happens he can throw JJ under the bus and not take any of the blame. will never ever be the goat no matter how many times he sits on top of the record books he top 20 will give him that, but there are 9 players better then him

If they hired a talking donkey like JJReddick (emphasis on the last 4 letters of his last name) as the next Lakers coach just because he's Lebron's holster, I'm done being a Lakers fan after 44 years. In retrospect, after Lebron very publicly pulled his strange jumping toddler tantrums because Ham didn't challenge a loose ball call, he was essentially done as the Lakers coach. Perhaps only if the Lakers beat the Nuggets could he save his job. In the Lebron era, being the Lakers coach has been the worst job in the NBA.
