guys, this music is spooky
InsertCoolness especially the bass and baritone range
Thank you for skipping ALTO!!! (sarcasm)
and Mezzo-Soprano
They did alto here: czcams.com/video/9haTThcy_Os/video.html
This video doesn't go low enough...
anything lower than E2 is still technically bass range. just different classifications of bass. that being said, i definitely agree. i could sing past this when i was 13.
Agree
same here can go lower
I mean personally I can sing lower than E2 and probably reach higher than C6. It is hard to say right now after being intoxicated for a whole week while having the cold. But it is still outside the definition of the registers. The point is not to show the lowest or highest possible notes a human can sing. The point is to show which range you need to have to be able to sing in any of the bass, baritone, tenor or soprano registers.
Personally I would call my self either a contralto or a contratenor depending on what kind of sound you want me to sing; female or male. But that doesn't mean that my vocal range is limited to only two octaves.
Liam Bruso - lowest note? (Usable)
Quick disclaimer;
Simply going by vocal range isn't enough to determine one's vocal fach. There are various other components to determining a voice type, such as the weight and color of the voice. I suggest looking more into those factors, because personally speaking, this video is good for choir placement and nothing else.
Can you help me determine my voice with those other factors. We don't have that type of personnel in my area unfortunately. According to the chart I can sing as low as G2# and as high as D5. I can sing comfortably in between B2 and C5 but I personally prefer C3 and C5.
Do you have a vocal sample?
Luis Gabriel I will upload one tomorrow.
I have uploaded one on my channel. Its not perfect but I think it might do the trick.
Idontcareaboutchannels I can't see it.
Well if we're writing down our ranges.
F2-F5.
F2-C#3 (Don't really like it)
D3-G4 (My favourite place to sing)
G#4-B4 (I do like this area)
C5-D#5 (When I do this right, I love it! When I don't, I die)
E5+ (Too much strain sooooo I avoid).
Same range as mine, however the area in which i sing comfortably is the lowest one, from F#2 to C4. When do you make the change between chest and head voice? I mix them for E-F4, then go full head voice.
Bob Jenkins If you train your head voice, you will hit E5 and higher. Around C#5 or D5 is where the passaggio is located.
I sing way higher than E5
f2-g4 belts?
Are you a dramatic tenor?
I think it is important to use the Choral classifications as well:
Soprano 1 (Soprano)
Soprano 2 (Mezzo-Soprano)
Alto (Between Mezzo and Soprano, but not really true contralto)
Contralto(Lowest female voice group, equivalents to high tenors)
Tenor 1 (Tenor)
Tenor 2 (Baritenor) (Between a baritone and tenor)
Baritone (Between a bass and Tenor)
Bass(lowest and deepest male voice)
I covered the whole soprano range......... but where's the alto part?
That's what I was thinking :( I'm an alto...
yes it is
Amore Arusko you didn't mentioned the Oktavist and the Basso Profundo
@Amore Arusko im a contralto but if i was a guy i could sing baritone.
They did alto here: czcams.com/video/9haTThcy_Os/video.html
what's with the crazy keyboard sound
I really dONt know lol
Why isnt alto there -.-
i meant contralto my bad
Amore Arusko Yes Alto is one of the main voice types for the female voice
Alto begin the lowest, Mezzo Soprano begin a mix of high and low. And Soprano begin the highest
+Fadi Dahoud Contralto is the lowest female voice, alto is merely a name for a section in choral music.
They did alto here: czcams.com/video/9haTThcy_Os/video.html
"hey guys im 14 can effortlessly sing C-∞ through C∞ no fying tell me your thoughts and opinions where that's good or not, im untrained never sang in my life until now"
Beautiful amazing
Crazy talented at seeking worthless validation on the internet!
oh you genious you
we keep listening to this and cracking up
only wanted to come and find out what my male vocal range is, returned back thrice just to hear the vocal synth sound. thanks for the laughs
A great reference; thanks!
No Contralto or Alto or Mezzo-Soprano?
Kayla Williams
Contralto is alto.
Alto is not a type of voice and Mezzo-Soprano Is Soprano
Haha.
Alto is an english traduction of contralto.
Mezzosoprano is the medium register.
And soprano is the most light register
OK, I'm new in this. how do i test myself ?
QR code Well it helps to have someone to judge. And a piano is useful for checking range
Otherwise, just try to sing the notes
yea I know :D
But you see, I thought I was a tenor, but someone recently told me I was singing 1 octave lower than I thought I was. So now I'm a bass... but how can I distinguish which octave I'm singing in? (for example, if I'm singing a C, how do I know if its a C3 or C4?)
Cool! We care so much!
People, please, fry isn't a part of your vocal range ! Everyone can go to B0 with it !
Squeaks and ugly head voice aren't part of your vocal range, if you can't control, if you shout or exclamate, it is not a part of your range either , otherwise I would have a range up to C8 :')
Doing many notes is pretty cool, but if they are ugly it's useless... Better a nice head voice few extensive than an extensive head voice but awful
+Deyann Crété Not all sounds have to be 'pretty'
+Jack the Knife I mean clean
Deyann Crété There are a lot of people who distort their high or low notes... So are those notes also not counted ?
I mean that your note has to be achieved with a technique at least correct
Deyann Crété Got it! :D
Is a baritone susposed to be able to hit G4 in Full chest voice?
Not particularly. These ranges aren't set in stone. You will most likely not have to hit a note high in 99% of pieces. Most Tenor parts don't go that high never mind Bass or Baritone parts, so don't worry if you can't hit it. They are a rare sight. However, depending on your lowest possible not you may actually be a Bass.
i'm a baritone as well but can't hit the higher notes (my voice ends up cracking) unless i go falsetto. I'm guessing its normal for a person that doesnt practice all the time to not be able to hit those notes, but be able to hit the lower ones
JRock Malik yeah man, but the more I sing its easier, but some days my voice just feel heavy and like tight. But sometimes especially the good days I can hit the A4 multiple times in a song. But my head voice is pretty strong, so I tend to do that can hit g5 and stuff in head. But I think most of us bari's have trouble arounf E4 and up. I've been practicing so I can get to F4 without killing myself lol
Mixed voice is good master and practice
Phage_TTV ! If I don’t have that problem with that F4 what does it mean ?
im a bass-baritone. :/ i can also hit some of the lower tenor notes with head voice. but thats pretty much it. E2-A4. (Possibility of going lower though) Is this normal for a 18 year old male?
Sweet. Thank You for the video. I go from A3 to D5, which puts me in Baritone and Tenor. Much more comfortable as a Baritone. 30 years in Choir, 25 playing keyboard, 10 on the Clarinet and I never bothered looking up my range until now. Thanks Again.
I feel like I'm in a freddy Kruger movie hearing this
hahaha
Hey where's the Alto? You completely missed us out :(
I can sing from the baritone to the soprano ... I just have to figure out, how to make this not sounding awful ... any tips?
I don't think you made any mistakes. :) Thanks for the advice. I've been working on my voice for a few years now. My first teacher thought I was a tenor because I could bridge easily from chest to middle voice and my voice isn't heavy. She had me singing way higher than was comfortable. I started singing along with baritones and was amazed at how easy it was. My wife commented that I sounded great too. Just natural and unforced. Thanks for the tips.
Im a bass. It kinda sucks
dude you are awesome , people would kill for low notes ! ;)
TheDerDumme but when I talk normally people say it sounds like I'm mumbling, even when I think I'm speaking really loud.
Really? Bass voices are sexy... they give me tingles up my spine. :)
really. All I hear is like rumble since its coming from myself.
i feel weird since i can play just over the highest tenor note, but i can play way below the lowest bass note
im an A2 to an E6 what am i?
lying.
Nicolas Dysert how am I lying? its a simple question because I'm not sure where I lie within the table
If you can actually hit all of those notes well in your chest voice I would consider you inhuman. Otherwise, you're a bass with a really good falsetto.
Nicolas Dysert I can reach the highs with a mixed voice and the low notes with a vocal growl, my speaking voice is at a C4
Bass hits E2 tho.
thanks Ethan
In this video, i can hit C5 but in vocal pitch monitor, it showed that i hit C4. Which one is right???
E2-G4. I can get to C#2 in the morning and can fry to around G1. There is a lot of bullshit in these comments. Fry and falsetto should not be counted as part of your range.
well, I count my head voice into my range cause I use it in my songs a lot, I do e1 to eb5. I never tried to vocal fry
hrackmed mallaoundalla
Forgive me for being skeptical, but, unless you are classically trained, I cannot believe you can sing from Barry White to Freddy Mercury.
oh I can. im a bass at heart but I have a really powerful head voice that starts at g3 when not blended with my head voice and it can go up t o eb5.i train my head voice as much as I train my chest voice.if you counted your head voice, im sure you would get better results too
hrackmed mallaoundalla Bullshit. There's only a hand few people who can sing a real E1.
hand full of famous people
Can do bass, baritone, and tenor a little bit. 15 years old ;)
👍
I can as well...though you're a year older so the higher vocal range is impressive
E3 - G5
Wake Pretty sure I'm either a bass or a baritone. I can only hit upto A4 in chest voice... but hey that's what falsetto's for~
***** DAYUM BRO
If I can barely hit C#4, does that mean that I will eventually be a low bass? I'm currently able to go down to E2 on a good day, without subharmonics (I'm 14)
Edit: I had no idea I could hit E2 already
My singing voice as a tenor with a broad range
Lowest: A2 or A below C3 Tessitura: F3 - B4 Highest: Eb5 or E flat above tenor high C Falsetto: F#5
Supported range: B2 - D5
Passaggi: C#4 (D4) - F#4 (G4)
I have a lyric tenor voice agile for singing with a dramatic voice without straining.
What could that make me fachwise? Spinto tenor, Lirico Spinto tenor, or Full Lyric tenor?
Bass checking in. Wish I was baritone/tenor.
Bass is absolutely beautiful, though. Don't feel bad =3
I can't sing songs I want to sing :(
You don't want to sing baritone its a uncombable range.
@monz125 I love queen but I have to shift them down at least half an octave in order to sing them :(
No, basses are gorgeous! If you want to sing pop songs, you should try transposing it down however many semitones you need to.
Not a good video for an untrained person to find their voice type. The ranges represent operatic fully developed voices which a novice won't have.
@PianoMusicMageLucky7 mezzo-soprano: A3-F5
contralto: F3-F5
With my regular voice, I can do E2 to F4 (Bass/Baritone/Lower Tenor). With falsetto, I can do Bd4 to E5 (Lower Soprano or Mezzo-Soprano). Inhaling while singing (fry register), I can just barely do G2 to E4 (Upper Bass). Not bad for a guy who has never had any sort of professional coaching.
Why do everyone hate altos? Haha!
+Elvira Mattsson I am an alto and I kinda hate being an alto lol
Yeah... Me too. Haha!
+Elvira Mattsson why?
I don't think that there is any good repertoire for altos, not as much as for sopranos at least. And they're not really appreciated.. And people forget about them, like in this video. Haha!
Altos are nice you can hit low notes and have a juicy falsetto notes
I could do all bass and soprano xD Best being Transgender. But I am still not a good singer I need to try getting better!
Sonpahien Gōnun being trans has nothing to do with range.
my teacher puts me in the alto section in our class choir, but I can't reach the low c c sharp and d, and the low d sharp I can hardly sing but the low e is already fine for me. What does it mean?
F#2 - G4 (chest voice) - Bb5 (Head voice / falsetto)
Didn't know I had that much of a range this was fun to do.
I need help I can sing from g#1-g#4 and in falsetto/mixed voice I can sing to A5.... what am I and how many octaves do I have ????
I'm a bit confused
My lowest note is a F3 and my highest is an E6
Does anyone know what that would be?
My range in chest voice is D1 to F#4, without straining, so would you call that a 2 octave range or a 3 octave range? I've seen varying definitions of what a # octave range is, some would call the same number of notes a 3 octave range or 2 octaves from person to person
is E2 really where a true Bass starts? Because I always thought I was more of a Bass-Baritone type of guy & I start at about D2
C3 to C5 comfortably
A2 lowest with lots of effort
D5 to F5 with falsetto
G5 to A#5 with straining and lots of air
What would you classify me?
My lowest note is Bb1 at 17, When i try to go up the Tenor or even Baritone ranges, My vocal cords really start to hurt, Keeping in mind i don't sing, Is that a sign of having a limited range, Or just because i don't sing?
so idk how high or low to sing my voice if I'm on a D3 or watever so I'm just gonna say what I can do below and above middle C. Below I can do a D# and an octave about middle C I can do an E. Is that average for a 13 yr old girl?
Oh ok! Thanks for the info (:
My vocal range is G2-C5 sometimes i can F2 and D5 but generally G2-C5 so Am i tenor or high baritone? My natural voice is soft but if i want i can sing like baritone. I'm singing generally between C4-A4 so what am i?
My full vocal range is D2-C6 (3 Octaves, 6 Notes) I hate using my chest voice because it's so deep and I can hit higher notes without it. With proper training, I think I can hit up to a D6. I'm more comfortable singing in I guess it's called "mixed/falsetto voice." When I use my chest voice I'm so limited and I hate it but it works well when necessary. I think I'm a Baritone?
C#2/D2 is my lowest and without vocal warm ups I can sing up to a E4 and in falsetto hit up to a G5
But when I warm up my voice I can sing up to F5 easily and G5-Bb5 with force. And C6 in falsetto
Is that good or bad
And what vocal class am I
I'm a boy on my sisters account btw
Is this all in chest? My chest range is F2 to B4 and with strain C5 what am I?
@DimitrisPrasakis Voice classification depends more on vocal weight and timbre than it does on range. I have a range up to a C6, but I'm no soprano.
@MadeItHere Head voice is connected; a full sound. Falsetto is more of a "technique" that can be employed, which is an airy sound, mostly used in head voice. But falsetto can be used in almost any note. For instance, an A3 is a low note, but I can sing that low note in falsetto, because falsetto is not a vocal register, but rather, a vocal technique.
@Meltedcrayyon That truly depends. Where is your power at? Whats your chest voice range, head voice, and falsetto? Range doesn't mean alot. I can reach higher than any other true tenor i've met at my school, but i'm still a baritone because my strongest notes are from C3 to G4(my middle range). My weight and power is my middle notes, but i can get some good high notes going. Range isn't as much important as power when it comes to voice type, i can get down to Eb2 some days....i'm no bass.
My range is D2-G4(with falsetto)... My strongest, most comfortable notes are E2-about G3. Can someone tell me what I'd be?
I could sing every note here comfortably. What type would I be? I can easily belt the C5 and I can belt a D5 if I reach a little. The C6 in falsetto was pretty effortless. The E2 felt like a very slight reach but I certainly didn't have to struggle for it. I know they say vocal type has to do with tessitura. Where would I fit in?
i'm 15 and my lowest note is B1. am i considered a bass then?
What would the classification be between baritone and tenor? I can hit the notes inbetween both those feilds, just not all of them. (not saying im any good, just curious)
- Can Someone Tell Me What I Am?
Chest Notes: E2 - G4
Belted Notes (Mix) : G4 - G#5
Head Voice / Falsetto: D4 - Eb6
Whistle Register: C6 - B7/C8 (Eb8 My Highest Ever )
Am I a High Tenor? I'm a Guy, But I Sing Soprano Parts in Choir/Chorus .-.
oK some one help me, i can sing as low as D#2 But as Hi as E#5 very rarely i have hit an A#5 so like how many octaves is that? i am not saying i prefer to sing that low or that hi but those are the lowest and highest notes i can hit ?????
@naraazizshika Which side is stronger? Low? Bass. High? Tenor. Neither? Baritone most likely.
I took a range test and it kinda span from E2 to A5 but mostly from F2 (on good days E2) so um could anyone tell me what kind of baritone am I? 😅
I go from Bb2 to F#5 - what does that make me? tenor or baritone?
My range is C3-E6. Strongest is from C3-G4, and my weakest section is A4-D5 (belting section). highest I can belt is a C#5 on a good day. What is my vocal range? my vocal quality is also low and thick.
I can do D#2 to G5 comfortably but u can get out an E6 what does that make me?
The (most) comfortable part of my range is G2 - F4. I can usually go as low as an E2 or F2 and as high as an A4 or A#4. My falsetto usually extends to about a G#5. Am I a baritone or a tenor?
Baritone I think !
Lowest E2 -C5 in chest voice in falsetto i can go to a c6 so what does dat make me?
I can sing down to the e-2 and up to the G4 fairly comfortable, but my voice isn't heavy like it bass. It has a more mellow....warm......sweet sound? What voice type does that indicate?
What's weird to me is that I can sing from an E2 to a F5 in normal voice from F#5 to Bb5 in a mixed voice and then B5 - F6 in falsetto sooo would that be classified as tenor or countertenor??
Am I a tenor or baritone? B1 - G4♭? Also can I ever increase my range to hit a c5?
Hi! i am a 1st bass / baritone. I have managed to get up to the G4 now.
Before Christmass, I could get down to the Eb2, but now I am struggling to get down on it, now having only E2 as my lowest note. What have happened? (Is there anything to do about it?)
E3-C6 i have never studied singing. What do you think I am?
does this include falsetto or just chest voice?
I keep trying to find a vocal range with an actual bass range. E2 is one of my lowest chest notes and I'm 14. G4 is my highest note, that I can hit today that is. My lowest controllable note is an A1 and I want to extend my controllable notes. I can growl lower than an A0 but I want it to be more relaxed, controlled, and comfortable. If anyone can help me with some techniques or something I would appreciate it.
I'm not talking about when talking in general, but when practicing singing. I was mistaken to say talking at first. But not every female has a high voice, although, it's very rare to find one.
If i can sing from G in E2, up to a D in C4 what would i be classified under? im guessing a high baritone or low tenor, cause the entire baritone range feels great as does C3, but i slightly push out my C# and D in C4 but after that i cant sing without straining. anyway, from G(E2)-D(C4) help please :(
wow i never thought i was actually a bass. i need to practice
I've been told all through out that I am a baritone. I am a freshmen in college and I can't hit a G2... I can barely hit a C3. I can go up to about a C5 or some days I can go up to a E5 with out it sounding bad. I still don't know what type of singer I am, even though all my life I've been told I sound really good in my lower register and I have a nice falsetto. I haven't had vocal lessons but I may take some in the future...
My chest voice is F2-G4,and my falsetto can reach B6,what am I?
Mid/high bass through baritone to tenor; however, my comfort range tends to hang around the baritone-low tenor range. It's a weird place to be vocally, though I do find it fun and easy to sing harmony rather than melody or lead.
what it it doesn't go low and high enough
what would i be exactly
That would make you: a miracle worker.
@PianoMusicMageLucky7 you can look it up on wikipedia
contralto is about F3-F5 and Mezzo-Soprano is about A3 - F5
Chest Voice-E2-B5/C5(can go lower though)
Head Voice-C5-A5
Growl E1, Chest B1 (A1 morning voice/sick), Chest A4, Falsetto F5 😊
@DimitrisPrasakis If you can sing down to a D2 with chest voice, your most likely a bass. Are you low notes powerful and fairly loud? If your low notes can really rumble, your probably a bass. If not so much, if your notes are low but they are quite (like me), then you might be a baritone. Baritones can go pretty low if they really work at it, and they also can get fairly high. My range is G2-A4 (chest voice) and ?-D5 (head voice) with a falsetto range up to G#5 or A5 and i'm a baritone.
Keep in mind that there's a difference between what notes you CAN hit, and the notes you can actually sing comfortably. I can go down to an A1 with some vocal fry, but I'm actually a baritone.
anyone know what am i? am i tenor? bariton? baritenor? countertenor? lyric tenor? dramatic tenor?
my range
lowest chest: G#2
vocal fry = Eb2
highest chest = G#4 or A 4
last week i hit B4 or C5 without falsetto or head voice maybe mixed
voice but it didnt sound good because i cant sing with mix voice, i
always belt.
highest head voice : C6 but possibly D#6 but that D#6 just hitting not
singing.
i think A2-B3-C3 is very low to me. my comfortable chest voices notes
are g3-e4, i should use more power to hit F4-A4 and so do the head
voices. i cant sing with head voices without using more power or sing
louder above F5 so i never sing it at home. i am not as light as chris
brown, neyo, adam levine. my voice is lil bit dark, but when i sing
softly it sounds lighter. my low notes don't sound like a bass singer.
maybe my voice is similiar to scott hoying (but his timbre is more
unique than me, he has something that i dont have) but i think his voice
is more weight and manlier than me or kenny lattimore, eric benett they
have dark voices but not so dark but also not light. i confuse with my
real range vocal. anyone know my vocal range? btw somepeople tell me
that i'm good to sing "A whole new world", maybe my voice like peabo
too, lil bit? omg huft
maybe you can check my youtube to analyze it, i covered Mercy from Duffy. thank you
*btw i always sing in fallsettos andhigh voice to hit above E4 when i dont sing loudly
I can go from a D2 (comfortably, though sometimes a C2), up to an E4 (F4 if warmed up) in chest voice, but my falsetto goes up to an A6 or Bb6. I am working to have a 4 octave range by the time I'm out of college.
i got E3 on the first one, Eb on the second one, E on the third and G on the last... what does this mean?
i'm able to hit (comfortably) an E1 to an F4 (G4 on a good day), and my choir teacher placed me as a tenor because i have more "color" on the high notes.. but i have to sing in my falsetto for a lot of the music we have to sing.. is that okay?
My lowest note is g2 and high g4 in chest. And my highest note in super head voice is c6. What am I?
Need some help in this one... (C1)C2-F5(F7)... so, what am I?
So I'm confused about my range, its A#2-G4 chest voice, then up to an A5 in falsetto. I've had people say I'm a baritone, others say I'm a tenor and I'm just lost.
I can sing lower E2 and i can sing max A4 at chest voice... I'm a tenor?
G2 (rarely f#2)-g4 chest falsetto a4-c6 (b5 sounds better than my c6) so am I a baritone or tenor? I'm 16 and male. I found out I'm talking in the 3rd octave normally. Soo?
Im a female and can sing it between E4-C5 is it good or..
My vocal range is F#2-B5. My tessitura is E3-G4. Am I a tenor?
