For the past few years I have had chronic laryngitis, which was finally diagnosed as dystonia. I decided not to accept this as a life sentence because I love singing. So, I started with this warm up, which sounded dreadful at first, but I kept to a daily routine and am now almost completely "cured." It started with laryngitis complicated by food allergy reactions and the doctors in their wisdom told me that it was now permanent....ha! ha! Thanks to this warm up I am singing again almost in full range. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Oh my!! Forgive me for just getting back to you!! Thank you SO much for your comment!! I am SO honored this warm-up helped you!! I'm giving a free 30-minute voice lesson if you are interested! forms.gle/yc3MmgcVio6C9mDu8
@@rachelcoloff6644 Hello Rachel, I have found that narrowing down food allergies is difficult. I get a variety of symptoms related to specific foods, but some are very clear and self evident and others very murky. My allergist --who was also an integrative doctor--told me that if you have significant food allergies then you are sensitive essentially to all foods, just in varying doses. Celiac is another issue--yes, I do have dairy and gluten allergies. The gluten symptoms are systemic, meaning that I just plain fee exhausted and crappy all over. Hard to function. Oh, did I mention brain fog. I have also found that the body can suddenly change--which is why I suddenly developed a lot of phlegm and irritation in my throat--also because I have been under a lot of stress for the past few years. The most helpful treatment I have found is LDA--Low Dose Antigen. If you are in the States, then there are some really good people doing that treatment. a
This is totally worth the ten minutes. Being 11, people don't take me seriously when I say I want to be a singer. They are just like "that will change". But since I'm a soprano, it's kinda hard to practice so I can show people because there are barley any warm-ups for us. Thank you!
@@TarynM716 your voice will always change. Earlier this year I had less a three octave range (E3 to B5, I think) and now I'm over 4 ovtaves (A2 to D7). It takes time, but we can all get there eventually, if we want to that is.
@@sophieo.4527 How often and long did you practice? Are you hitting 6th and 7th octaves with whistle register or falsetto / head voice? Do you take vocal lessons too?
I know these exercises are for female, but i do them every other day and they really work, i got a much stronger falsetto voice now and its getting better since i keep doing these exercises. Thanks much for sharing your tecniques

i can't do the bubbles /lip trills properly sounds like blowing a rasberry!! and only on one note, and i have to put a hand in front of my mouth, don't want to spray the screen or the person in front of me at rehearsals, embarrassing.
thanks! this is very helpful, I used to be a coloratura soprano back when I was in college. But when I graduated I never sang nor vocalize anymore... pretty sad that I am having a hard time singing "The Magic Flute ( Aria Queen of the night) which is my favorite song. But when I saw this It gave me hope that I may be able to sing it again. I will use this as my daily vocalization.
This helped a lot to relax my vocal cords after doing exhale screams. Since I'm a singer I want to make sure my voice is in shape, even after exhales and this helped a lot!
I loved it! I have just started singing in the choir again after many years I am a soprano but I am currently singing in the alto section because it is weak section and needs some help. Thanks to this exercise I will be able to keep my soprano range!
was in chorus for a few years and these are very similar to the warm up we had to do but never as high of pitch as you go up to i like that im able get out of my comfort zone with your video
This is super helpful because I know I need to exercise my voice daily and it isn't difficult like I do while cleaning so it isn't time consuming or anything but I always use the excuse of not knowing what to use to warm up but now this forces me to stop procrastinating and build back up to my soprano range

PinkHeartLotus,

Many, many foods.
PinkHeartLotus,
That narrows it down.
Just wondering if it was gluten or dairy. I'm Celiac.

Maybe people would take you more seriously if you could spell "barely." "Barley" is a type of grain.
Found my eyebrows permanently raised when trying this out. :')
