Jeff I feel the same I found out about Japanese music through doing youtube and it's been incredible. I'll even go further and say I didn't particularly care for power metal but the way lovebites plays being so thrashy and technical it's shed a new light on the genre for me.

You're right in that I did and still do love Miho. I think the world of her writing, playing, and performing abilities, and I'll continue to follow and support her with whatever she does. That said, I'm excited about Fami. She has a different style of play and a different energy, and if this song is any indication, it's like LOVEBITES has gone through a revitalization that we didn't know that they needed. Judging by their social media, the ladies are going out of their way to make Fami feel welcome. 2023 is here and I can't wait for the new albums from Babymetal and LOVEBITES.

This song feels like I'm on the highway, pedal to the metal without slowing down for 7 minutes. Fami can play anything with such power, she's unbelievable, I follow her channel, she mostly covers fast anime songs, she's the queen of slapping and tapping, and listen to the song, there's a lot of these going on in it! Awesome song. Fami and Asami really crushed the chorus. Fami is such a wonderful addition to the band.
You hit it on the head of the nail regarding Fami. I've listened to thIS song so many times and cannot get enough of her bass playing and of course the song itself. Miho is an amazing bass player but Fami is in a different league. As unbelievable as Lovebites has been, I think with Fami now in the band, it will bring them to a whole new level.

During the intro and the outro you can hear the guitar's sound going from the left to the right of your headphones soooo smoothly, travelling through your head. It makes my brain shiver.
This is exactly how I always imagined bass should be mixed in metal. Many bands have quite interesting bass, yet it's often so hard to hear, that it's such a shame. Makes me wonder how much I (and anyone else who doesn't hear it as well) missed until now.

To get an idea how busy Miho really was (and we missed in the mixes), here's Carlos Allef, a guy who did a complete playthrough of the bass part from the Glory To The World EP. He did submit an audition track for the bassist role, but obviously he wasn't going to stand a chance.

Until we hear the new album we don't know if Fami's bass will always be high in the mix. Lets hope so. She stole my heart right from the introduction video. 😍 However, Miho can never be replaced in my view.

"Fami is Amazing!". It is hard not to endorse that. However, with all of the respect in the world to Fami (and Lovebites), I still miss Miho.
I do miss Miho as well, and I hope she will share whatever it is that she is doing now with us soon. But I also had the impression that for whatever reason, she was not very happy in Lovebites. Hopefully, she is now in a better place for her. As for Fami... I think she is a perfect fit for the band. I can't wait to see what comes next.

@@55tallanh You are absolutely right about Fami, which was why I was so emphatic about making sure that no one confused my sadness for the loss of Miho with any disrespect for Fami. As to the several postulated rationales put forth for Miho's leaving Lovebites, I put the greatest credence in the idea that she found it unsettling that the band seems to be moving in the direction of melodic power metal and quasi-symphonic metal. (I'm talking about a modest trend -- I'm not saying that all [or even most] of their newer product has fewer "sharp teeth" in it than was true of their older material [they can still splinter the floor boards any time that they want to]). If there were interpersonal issues in the band, I heard nothing about them. (Of course, the Japanese do a much better job of smoothing over such issues publicly [e.g. if such problems existed, we'd hear something like "They wanted to experiment with new musical directions" or "There have been health issues"; in the West, we might instead get something like: "If I ever see that mot........ng as....e again, I'm gonna tear their face off!"). Happy New Year!

Few facts:
- Miho's father died in August, 2018. In December 2018, the 2nd studio album of LOVEBITES "Clockwork Immortality" was released. This album contains the song "Journey to the Otherside" (lyrics - Miho / music - Miho, Mao).
Miho dedicated this song to her father. Miho starts crying during the song "Journey to the Otherside" (DVD/Blue-ray "Daughters of the Dawn-Live in Tokyo 2019") .
"The Final Collision" (lyrics - Miho / music - Miho, Mao), another song from this album . This song is also related to Miho's personal suffering.
- On August 15, 2021, Miho tweeted that :
"Now playing Journey To The Otherside (LOVEBITES - Clockwork Immortality).
Today is the anniversary of the death of my father, who was a paramedic. Three years later, I still feel lonely.
I wondered if he lived in good health, he would have done everything possible to save lives during this Сorona crisis.
Thanks to all the medical workers who are now fighting on the front lines."
- Two days later, August 17, 2021 Miho tweets: "Thank you so much for your support so far." And retweets the band's official statements : "Notice of Miho's exit and band suspension."
Around the same time, the band releases an official statement:
"Important announcement of Miho's departure and band hiatus :
To our dear fans, firstly thank you all for always supporting LOVEBITES.
Today we have to let you know that our bassist, Miho, is leaving LOVEBITES. We're so sorry to be bringing such sad news to our fans and everyone who has supported us so far.
After Miho told us she was thinking of leaving, the band and our staff held countless meetings , to find a way for her to stay. But in the end, we decided to respect Miho's wish." ( * This is a translation from Japanese )
Miho was very attached to her father and this pain caused by his death accompanied her for the last three years of being in LOVEBITES. According to the tweet, Miho's father died on August 15, 2018.
LOVEBITES in August 2018 was in Europe. They have performed at:

I will not continue further. Smart people will understand how Miho felt when she returned from Europe to Japan.
I know that it is often very difficult for people after personal tragedies in their lives and often they try to change their lives: to change their environment, change jobs, place of residence, etc. etc.
In order to be distracted . So that what surrounds them is less reminiscent of their personal tragedy. I've been through this myself. Therefore, it is very likely that the reason (or one of the reasons) for Miho's departure from the band was the death of her father.
Why did I write all this? Over the past 16 months since Miho's departure from the band, I have repeatedly seen some fans reproach Miho for setting everyone up by "unexpectedly" leaving LOVEBITES. So I've tried to summarize what I've learned . So that people at least understand something .

"Far me", that's a great idea for English speakers. For me as a German speaker it's much easier to say. As much as I know the Japanese language, "Fami" like in "family" is not a real thing, those syllables don't even exist...

Her name is pronounced Fah-Mee if that helps. You asked a question that was a half-thought. Had you asked the whole question I might have been able to help. The members are Haruna on Drums and the only original founder left, Miho was the other and the bassist that just left, replaced by Fami. Asami is the lead vocalist, although all but Haruna sing as far as I know. Midori is a competitive bodybuilder and I don't know her position within the lineup but She and Miyako trade off lead frequently. Miyako is a concert pianist (keyboards) and Asami plays piano as well. Asami trained in the USA for Ballet, and why she didn't pursue that I don't know but we have all been blessed by that change in her direction. The ladies all agreed to do their songs in English, I'm guessing to hit the wider audience. Each of them is a master of their instruments. And Asami is one of the most graceful ladies I have ever seen, although she doesn't float around the stage in this production.
Another note about Fami: in this production, she plays 2 basses. The one in the studio has no headstock, while the one in the video has a five-string headstock. Either way, she is definitely a plus for the band.
Fami was exactly what Lovebites needed. I love the bass playing of Miho, but from this song I feel the band is 100% made up of virtuosos. Fami does a lot of amazing stuff all over the bass, witout losing any of the being the backbone of the band. Looking forward to the new album!

👍It can be added that this was the first competition in which Midori participated. The "Muscle Festa Yokohama" (Japan) competitions was held in July 2022. Midori was among the finalists, taking 6th place (the first 6 places are finalists) in the category "Bikini Fitness Under 40"

As a Fami fan and not really a LB'S fan I was hoping that it would become the Fami show. I guess she has to show respect for her elders. I'm really liking this song. It would be my 2nd favorite without Fami but with her it's my 1rst. The things I often dislike about LB'S are not an issue here. I don't usually like the singing style but it works here. Especially with the violin. They guitar's didn't play too many notes for my ears. And the treble didn't hurt them. The guitar solos fit into the song. My only wish would be for some more change-up's in the drumming. Especially tempo.
If this is all Fami's doing, she's well worth the bigger share that I hope she's getting. Just kidding. I know she's not more talented then the rest. Her celebrity is larger.

I think there is a lot to like here with this song and I believe like I said in the video if you weren't a fan before I think this version will make you into one! I'm excited for them and can't wait to see what they come up with next! LB's really got me into power metal which is a genre that I wasn't really exposed to.
I recommend you listen to the first and second albums. If you only stick to their official CZcams, most of them only uploaded power metal like songs.
There are lots of "hidden gem" songs that new people might not know about.
Compared to other bands, Lovebites has little content and poor promotion/marketing

@@ChadTheDragonLord I listened to the studio "Liar" and liked it a little then watcher the " Live From The Abyss " and liked it a lot. You guys should recommend that one to reactors that are just discovering Band-Maid. I like the way they let the song develop and play out rather then just hitting you with a wall of sound. And the guitar solos were great. I'll check out the others later.

Maybe i make myself some enemies now but my thoughts are: Lovebites did a big upgrade. Miho is a great Bass Player but she was always the weakest part of the Band and she knows it. Look at older Videos how much fun she got and in the newer Videos, she was quiet and only doing her job. Fami now brings the whole Band to show there real Abilitys. She was the missing Puzzle Part. Dont get me Wrong i like Miho and she has done a lot for Lovebites. Whithout here we couldnt listen to Lovebites.

I mean, we don't quite know what Miho was truly capable of because they just never challenged her that much. Which is not to say that she did poorly, of course, and she was still given moments to stand out. But she has stated herself that she prefers a flashier playing style to a more technical one. And that's fine. Some of the reactions sound a bit revisionist to me though.
I also recommend the Daughters of the Dawn concert to everyone more interesting in her playing, because I feel like that mix is highlighting her quite well.
"A Great Bass Player" can't be the weak part of the band. Miho has never been the weakest of LOVEBITES. All members of the band, staff, management had many meetings with Miho, persuaded her not to leave the band. As professionals, they understood that it was Miho's bass that they needed !

@@cepho8349 I don't need to be optimistic.🤗 I am not a pessimist, I am not an optimist. I'm more of a realist. After the departure of Miho, I knew that LOVEBITES would continue and delight us with new songs.I was one of the first to say that Fami was a great choice for LOVEBITES and tried to explain to others that Fami could play metal. From the first days after Fami was announced as the band's bassist, I have supported Fami and will continue to support her in the future. I like her! But I think Miho is better for LOVEBITES than Fami.

SO happy to see Lovebites back on top of J-Rock once again. Just dissapointed that Fami didn't have more of a showing visually in this first release with her......not only is she a superb musician...but she is So beautiful too.
