Very clean...great idea. I'm going to perform this technique on my DRZ. Instead of tape to cover the yellow connector, I may squeeze some silicone inside the green connector, which will give the added benefit of waterproofing while securely holding the yellow connector in place. To reduce weight and clutter, I may remove the metal kickstand switch and wire harness and save it if I ever want reinstall back to OEM. Thanks for the great tip.
@@kuzivamukarati160 Yes I did perform this technique. I removed the whole kickstand assembly. I found some yellow connectors at Home Depot. After some slight tweeking to the yellow connector, I was able to successfully close the circuit. It's a secure tight fit, and the silicone only added to locking in the fit with the added benefit of water-proofing the connection. I could not be happier about the outcome of this technique.
I think this a bad Idea. If that jumper ever vibrates off you will be tearing your hair out trying to figure out why your bike is dead. It took me less than 5 minutes to cut the wires, solder and heat shrink with the switch going into my junk collection bin. I'll put it back if I ever sell the bike.
Totally agree, and you might go crazy wondering why it won't start. Cut and splice with solder and heat shrink. It takes about the same amount of time.
Luckys7evin idk off the top of my head but they’ll have them at the hardware store in the electrical department. Screenshot it and show it to someone working there. They’re used for all kinds of connections and splicing
Eric sin the green connection has 2 pins in it, the connector that I’m using is basically a metal horse shoe shaped clamp that when you touch both pins of the harness connector bridges the electrical circuit.

-soldered them/heat shrink..etc..THIS IS BS !! A simple connector
makes it easy...

Ochuko Ukoti this doesn’t work for that application but if you have your title and registration a locksmith or dealer can cut you a new
Put a wrench on the positive and negative on the starter and watch the magic. Definitely recommend the right way tho
