  • In this video I talk about how to plan and write a personal statement for medical school (including a free downloadable template to give you structure and break down the personal statement into sections!). My personal statement got me interviews at all of my chosen medical schools (Cambridge, Nottingham, Birmingham and Manchester) so I hope you will find my advice helpful! I talk about how to effectively write an introduction, conclusion and how to talk about your work experience, achievements, extra-curricular activities and academic interest.

So glad I found your channel. Also, because of COVID, my work experience programme scheduled for July was cancelled. I'm a Year 12 student, and will be Year 13 in a week. As of now I've only had one day of shadowing in a hospital, but I do have a job in a corner shop which I'll definitely refer to as I've interacted with customers from a mental health carehome who come in quite regularly. What advice would you give me? Should I milk my one day of shadowing as much as I can? Or am I a lost cause?
I'd really appreciate a response! Thanks for your content :)

Such a great video, which books did you read about Alzheimer’s? They sound super interesting !

Maddie thank you! One book I read was called The Language of the Genes I think - it was about genetics in general but there were parts relevant to Alzheimer’s. I also read any articles in the New Scientist relating to Alzheimer’s and a book called Adventures in Human Being but again it wasn’t specifically about Alzheimer’s!

First off, thank you so much for this informative video and the template you've made! I was wondering how you managed to fit doing all of those things while still keeping up with your schoolwork? :)
