I don't like "second biggest group behind BTS". I'm not stating that BTS isn't great. EXO is Korea's nation's pick, most famous group in China, Indonesia, and Japan. Not promoting at all outside of Asia but is still able to be this famous. Their our named the Kings of Kpop by multiple medias and the Vocal kings of kpop. Not only the group EXO is famous, but as well as each member's solo careers. Their solos and groups are definitely top 1. An advice to Sammy: stay out of fan wars, in kpop, never say which group is better or more famous. BTW, all kpop groups are very great :)
I know, I am super late, but I have to agree. Personally, I like the music that BTS makes better, but there is no doubt that EXO has the stronger vocalists. They are just insane! I don't really like that everybody puts BTS on such a high
pedestal. Sure, they are world wide recognized and all of them are very talented and I especially love their rap line... But for me, there are other groups (like EXO) that are equally strong (or even stronger).

I came here to fight with the gross rats but I'm too lazy to find them.... EXO's rap line didn't plan on being rappers when they came to SM, unlike other group which members were rapping since they were young... Why would you compare when they have different circumstances? Chanyeol and Sehun learned from scratch and have done amazing at improving their skills and crafting their own rap style over the years and have even debuted in a sub-unit together. Their rap style fits perfectly for EXO's songs. They aren't a hip hop group ok?

TEMPO is EXO‘s greatest song in my opinion, and of many others. I recommend it as next reaction, you‘ll be shook. I hope you‘re down to also react to their sidetracks or at least listen to their albums in your freetime because else.. man you will definitely be missing out! Their vocals, rap, dance, beats are just perfect and unique.
If you want to have some basic knowledge on EXO because I can see it coming that you‘ll ask some questions since some things with this group are quite confusing: EXO was originally devided into 2 groups. Exo-K & Exo-M. Exo-K obviously did the songs in Korean and Exo-M in Mandarin. EXO debuted with 12 members, which means in each group were 6 members. In Exo-K every member was Korean. In Exo-M 4 members were chinese and 2 members (Chen & Xiumin) were korean but they were given chinese stage names. 3 of the 4 chinese members left the group a long time ago. Due to members leaving and stuff they decided to put everyone together into one big group called „EXO“. This group consists of 9 members now, but you‘ll barely be able to see one specific member, Lay. Lay is the only chinese member left in EXO and due to the political tensions between China his home country and South Korea, he can‘t participate in comebacks & group activities (since he‘s somewhat a representative of China & also a huge artist there). He‘s been doing solo work ever since (since 2016/17) but he‘s still part of the group. But in TEMPO MV he has a cameo shot.. anyways, if you‘ll wonder why there‘s only 6 in Obsession MV, it‘s because 2 members are currently in military and soon there‘ll be more members enlisting.
I hope you‘ll react to the members solo and subunit songs to differentiate them easier.

hi ! a new subscriber here,i came here after seeing on twitter how people have been talking negatively about EXO in the comment section. this is the mindset people have been saying to probably all new fans in kpop,EXO is not a bad nor a mean group. i have been a fan for 2 years,my friends have been there from them since debut which was back in 2012. I am sick and tired of seeing people talk carelessly about EXO and saying things they have never did. Every member in EXO are lovely,all equaly talented,down to earth,humble,and they treat us (their fans) with all the love and support and we’re thankful for that. Can’t we just support all groups ? If EXO isnt your ult/fave idol,then just dont speak of them at all. If you have nothing nice to say,keep your mouth shut. EXO have went through a lot for the past 8 years,tbh all groups went through a lot in their journey as idols. We should respect them for being hardworking throughout all these years. Bro, Exo has been around for 10 years, debuted a year before Bts in 2012 when both groups were babies, and both groups were hard and amazing at their beginnings, totally awesome. But as Bts was a hard-hitting rap heavy group, Exo was a vocal singing group with many genres of music especially R&B, some old school styles, and known for vocals vocals vocals...
Exo started with 12 members in 2011, but now are down to 9 original members. But one member is in China and two members started ther military service so basically, technically they are working with 6 members now until someone else's turn to go.

EXO is also one of the first Kpop group to have really complicated and powerful choreographies. Other groups had beautiful and hard choreographies but EXO at this time was just at another level in terms of dancing. For example for Growl choreography they trained for 4 months... It was really amazing at this time! Now it's just normal for Kpop idols but as beautiful and hard as before.

I think some people just focus on some fast raps and all. EXO's raps depends on the flow of their songs which makes it more unique and i love it.

Agreed, people think that rapping fast makes a good rapper, but that is only one quality. EXO's title tracks are meant to show off more of their vocals, so the rapping isn't that emphasized on. But the rapping line still manage to have amazing flow. If you wanna judge the rapping line, check out their b-sides l, those are spectacular. Or check out EXO-SC, they're on another level. Chanyeol especially can showcase his great rapping in his other collaborations. EXO is a vocal group, but I still find their rap line one of the best ones out there,( I said *one of* ) people who say otherwise are mostly being ignorant. Do your research hon.
Rapping is not only about how fast you’re doing it to the point that you’re just making loud noise. I love EXO’s rap because it’s melodic, like music to the ears.

Cause to me it's just putting them on a pedestal when they're just people who just happens to be talented in something they're passionate about. Also I feel like by calling them kings, it just brings in more pressure for them to be always be perfect (they're not perfect, no one is, it's good to have flaws) Do they even like being called Kings? You'll might bring up about the awards and the achievements they received, but those shouldn't matter at all to say yes they're really that good to be musicians. Yk when you react to exo, they’ll be a lot of hate comments from some toxic fans of a particular fandom, only them. Please ignore it and just enjoy the talents exo served so well in their work. That fandom and exo-l (exo fandom) does not have a great relationship. If they said bad things about us, well the feeling is mutual really. This is just supposed to be only between some immature and toxic fans who created problems for clout. Most of us are just doing our own thing and enjoying things we like but we got label same as those problematics somehow. No matter who’s fault it is, no hate on the group just fans.

(Unless ur ready to have full scale war break out in the comments) Personally, i prefer old BTS to their newer stuff, simply bc their new stuff does not sound as original. EXO tho... they really saved my love of kpop when BTS was not cutting it for me. EXO are seriously just a well rounded group. Not saying their is anything at all wrong with BTS, my music taste just grew away from the direction they started going in.

Popularity is a controversial topic, even bts isn't the most popular boy group in Korean anymore, wanna one, nct, etc are rising more, it's just a different era. There was a time HOT was the best, then TVXQ, then BIGBANG, SUJU, SHINEE, and the last era started with EXO, yeah these were the groups marked as acts of change in kpop industry. New ones are coming up, old ones are still active. BTS, EXO & BIGBANG are still breaking records and making new history every year.
But it would be a little inappropriate to compare them, even if they are kpop idols EXO & BTS belong to completely different genres, their styles are very different from each other.

In addition and recently, Billboard named his latest single OBSESSION, as the best K-pop song of 2019, and whose album was released at the end of that year. Its members, apart from being great professionals, are also great people, which has led them to have thousands of fans around the world. Currently the group is in recess for reasons that the majority of its members have to comply with the Mandatory Military Service in Korea. Exo was officially 12 members , 4 chinese and 8 korean. 3 of the chinese members left the group (kris,luhan,Tao) and Lay is still in exo but he isn’t active on their latest albums because of some problems between korea and chine and stuff I don’t really know about. harshitassassin Kris left the group in 2014, and Luhan and Tao left in 2015. Because Lay's father is a member of a political party in China, he is not currently active with EXO because of the problem between China and Korea, but members always meet and talk, Lay says "I am an EXO member" every time, and Lay was featured in the Chinese version of our song Tempo in 2018

I think you should go on an EXO marathon. They legit are an icon. They mostly active as individual nowadays but so so worth it if you going to try to listen to their songs. They are all great. Used to be a 12man boy group. Some of the songs when they were 12 that I’d recommend are Overdose and Growl. Other songs that are amazing? Lucky One, Tempo, KoKoBop, Love Shot oh god there are so many!! You wont be disappointed Sammy!! And thank you for the constant content you putting here and brighten up my days during lockdown here.
