7:31 is the first time in that sequence that he actually got hit. he was forced to block for 30 WHOLE SECONDS and in that time went from ~50-45% down to ~15-20%. he didnt pay 60 dollars for a blocking game, but hes gonna be playing one and he does not have a choice in the matter.

Easily the craziest MTG deck I ever saw.
At 7:30 the madman got the exodia setup, swapped to test case1 and used the shuffle OD to get the projectile enhancing staff, and then swapped back to case 3 to spam empowered cubes.
Gobou is just built different
This is what's crazy about Asuka. His does crazy stuff, but in order to do it, he needs to be calculating miles ahead
The crazy part is how easily rng couldve stopped it from happening

@hakumenx1 True. People just see how dominant some of his wins are and judge prematurely. Asuka is *not* "an easy win button". Gobou is just extremely skilled.
@@m.jordan5181yeah asuka is one of the most honest reflections of a player’s skill level in the game, since he can be dog shit in one players hands and god tier in another’s, it’s just the amount of time and dedication you put into him. If he wins it’s usually because he somehow outsmarted his opponent, not because of some random bullshit
It was really nice to see the adaptation as the set went on. Noedda was just holding "infinite" blockstrings before and then found the answer with super jumping certain projectiles to take a turn back.

@MajoChian both characters slid backwards. It's an animation technique to show the super had weight and force behind it, like an actual cannon, and make it so that Asuka gets returned to neutral if he uses it as a "get off me" button. A lot of animation techniques are used to make the game feel good to play and also balance characters.
I think whatever happens, ArcSys will probably nerf Asuka's backdash (less i-frames), the pushback on his super, and/or his 2D (either shorten the hitbox or extend the startup/recovery).

This is probably how a boss character was supposed to be done right. Op skills sets with extremely hard execution unlike justice from Accent Core
Idk if i have the right to say this considering im shit at this game but i feel like skyfish could've been used a bit more. I know it expends a valuable resource and the goldlewis was trying to save it for other moves but i feel like there were a couple moments where it wouldn've been worth it.
Skyfish can be affective against this matchup however a lot of the cubes can sometimes float above his line of fire and still hit him. So he has to be very selective.

I dont get how he's inputting all of the commands, i slowed down the video to 0.5x and hes still cancelling 2d with projectiles while also bookmarking and refilling mana for what it seems like 0.5 second in a 0.5x video 💀

as a GL player, i think this might be the first time ive ever seen lv 3 drone get blown up by projectiles. beating projectiles is like, its main thing that it does. and it just exploded.

@ratedr7845 I mean, I'm not totally clueless on the cube hell defense, it's just incredibly frustrating. Losing a neutral interaction against Asuka accelerates into full screen guess for game, and i hate that. The early game matters a lot for Asuka it seems, making space to start shuffling spells to get to the win con of cube spam is imperative. Pot cant flick cubes, but anyone can strike cubes to destroy them, so it's a matter of figuring out when and what normals to use against cubes. Challenge Asuka in neutral early before he gets the ball rolling though, cause after that, it seems like it's just cube hell.

Its not worth it in this matchup as goldlewis to blow all your meter FDing to cube chip damage because then when you have an opportunity you cant laser.

More than any other matchup this one seems to be dictated heavily by RNG. If Asuka gets the right cubes Goldlewis can't do anything but if Goldlewis gets in Asuka is cooked.

Agreed. Think they could fix alot by just switching a few spells. Problem seems to be that both “auto card draw” and “auto mana regen” are in test case 3

he is balanced enough, him losing mana is a death sentence and there is a bit of randomness to him
