- This night lapse was captured on a cold, clear winter night using the GoPro Hero 12. The GoPro Hero 12 was facing north. This night lapse features the perspective of the stars and constellations rotating around Polaris as well as good views of the Milky Way rotating through the sky.

ISO Min: 800
ISO Max: 800
Sharpness: Low
Color: Flat
I did a bulk edit of the photos in Adobe Lightroom and then put the photos together into a night lapse in Adobe Premiere Pro and exported in 4K.

Actually thinking about maybe going back to a Gopro. Have the 'Osmo Action 4' and its pretty good but the background is blurry in the corners on mine although the face is in focus. Also have the new 'Insta Ace Pro' and my face is not in focus but the background is pin sharp. Think it is all to do with the new larger sensor size that those two cameras use and the issue with the optics. It can either be aligned to get your face sharp or background sharp, also a bit like the issue that 'Insta' had with the 1" sensor camera as well where face wasn't in focus unless you held camera over a metre away. At least with GoPro and the smaller sensor the optics seems to have everything sharp. Some people are not really fussed but for myself when vlogging out in the wilds I want everything to be sharp and show my environment clearly. Have a fix for the Osmo in Davinci Resolve where I put a rectangular mask on the outside area of footage to sharpen that up separately. Have done that as well with the Ace Pro where I have a tracked oval mask to sharpen just face.

Out of the insta360 Ace Pro and the Gopro 12, which one do you like more for night lapse videos?
This is a great question and really depends on what you want most from the camera. If you want more Star Trails options, currently the GoPro Hero 12 offers more of these. If you want better noise reduction in camera for night lapses and the ability to crank the ISO a bit higher then I recommend the Insta360 Ace Pro.
