- The statement ‘Cash is King’ has been around for a long time - and that’s probably because in many ways it’s true! In the business world, cash flow is certainly very important. For example, have you heard of any companies going out of business because they had too much cash? Probably not.

I really enjoyed this one - thank you Nicholas! In my experience, TIP NR. 8 is easily the most effective (real world) way of improving a company's cash flow and building a healthy amount of cash in the bank. If you are using a Direct Debit scheme you get paid 14 days after you invoice clients - it certainly beats waiting up to 60 days for payment. If your business normally bills people annually, a monthly DD arrangment keeps cash trickling in every montth and also helps your clients' cash flow in being able to nake small payment towards their annual bill. It truly is a win-win for company and customers. I would love to hear other peoples' experiences and tips for improving a company's cash flow - anyone?!
Thank you for providing us with your experience of Direct Debits, Graeme. Yes, we feel one of the main reasons why clients default on payments is due to the size of the payments themselves. By reducing the size of the payments, this makes it far more manageable for clients to pay you.
