I came to the video coz I’m trying to do the same with my teal hair but I subbed coz you’re so mellow. Some people r just too much on here sometimes but you’re a nice level of chill ✨

First, let me just say, your hair is gorg ! So, if you want to get the green out use dawn dish soap, really lather it up and you should be able to see the color being 'released' from the hair shaft. As for the color fade and layers, it is not really layers, when you dampen your hair you are opening you hair shaft a bit, the color you deposit onto your hair interacts with the pre-existing color. So the actual green pigment will interact with the red/conditioner mix you are using, it is a chemical change. Not an actual layer. Does this make sense ? Hope this helps.

I do a muted grayish blue regularly. I bleach then use feria shimmering brand it’s the shimmering black color I forget the name. When it fades it fades to a gorgeous blue silver and gets nicer as it fades. I just picked up 2 different greens today & stumbled on your video. Your have gorgeous hair btw, and I love both looks 💚

I know this video is old but if you have ever heard of color x change phase out and I previously used it on green hair similar to yours and it took my hair back to blonde I was amazed you should give it a try

I think it's pretty. I like muted colors too! I would totally do this on purpose tbh.
By the way, the reason it went teal is because the color you added only cancelled out SOME of the green you already had. When you mix opposing colors, more light is absorbed by the hair, so the color you get is darker/dimmer.
When you tone yellow hair with purple and It goes silver, this is the same process. If you over tone it, you get purple. If you under tone it, you get dull yellow.
What you did is the equivalent to under toning. Not all of the green was "neutralized." If you used a stronger pigment to tone the green, you would end up with grey or brown.

Try both, see if it can fade over the next few washes and then try the red again.
Once you get to the purple, it'll be easy to fade what is left after that.

@@empatheticallyme5971 thank you! ok yeah thats probably what i'll do! and yeah i guess i do understand the color wheel thing but its so strange to me that it can cancel it out enough to lighten it!

On the color wheel, the color opposite of another color is a way to cancel each of them out.
    Purple, yellow.
    Red, green.
    Blue, orange.
    so on and so forth.

That is generally true, but because everyone's hair reacts different you may not get a pretty colour. I had faded red in the lengths and did green. The roots were beautiful but the ends went swamp green. So be careful and do a test strip first.

So it was just a semi permanent dye with conditioner no actual hair dye with developer?

@@user-on9me3hb6l I didn’t 😔 my hair looked SOO BAD! I looked like a creature you expect to see when lost in the forest! I just let it fade away slowly. Its been half a year and it’s like weird. Naturally I’m dirty blond and imagine that but with kinda greenish tone you’d see when the sun hits it. When my hair grew out a bit (I got a hair cut) I colored my tips black so it’s more covered

@@user-on9me3hb6l I did also try a hack with using red dye and it worked! I got brown hair. However it was one of those shampoos that will remove in like 2nd hair wash. So if you are going to use the method, make sure it’s a dye that lasts
