Ground can be connected to any gnd pin of arduino and emitter pin of transistor

12 V is provided to the Vin Pin of the Arduino and poisitive terminal of the pump of your Automatic Hand Sanitizer Dispenser.

actually, in most of arduino there is a Vin pin which is connected to an inout voltage regulator. that will convert 12 v to 5v.
